== History ==

=== Foundation ===
Due to the sickening behavior of the Havaikians, the former leader of the District of Jason decided to hold a vote to determine if independence from Havaiki was desired. The vote was unanimously in favor of independence. Consequently, an independence plan was enacted, and 2000 gold was raised in 4 days thanks to donors such as Orbious, Khaled, and Baconmayonaise1, among others. Shortly after its founding, Zealandia faced an "invasion" by Havaiki, resulting in significant casualties for Zealandia. An estimated 0 Havaikians were lost, compared to roughly 9 members of Port Jason.

Zealandia was founded by Baconmayonaise1, Khaled, Orbious, and Snowy_23. Khaled, a dedicated miner and donor, played a significant role in the nation’s development. Port Jason and Sailport merged to form a state within Havaiki, soon joined by West Cape. Port Jason was chosen as the capital of the District/State due to its size and significance. It was also the first to enlist citizens for military purposes and established bases in the towns within the district.

The District of Jason, once formed, soon controlled the South Island and parts of the North Island.

=== Port Jason ===
Port Jason was established on March 31st, 2024. The mayor, Baconmayonaise1, originating from New Mexico, fled due to corruption in the previous New Mexican leadership before it was sold. Orbious and the other founding members were key to the establishment of Port Jason and Sailport. Prior to joining Havaiki, Mayor Baconmayonaise1 recruited three members: Snowy_36, TheJTime, and Scrambledtots, who, along with Baconmayonaise1, became known as the founding members. Three days after its founding, Port Jason left the nation of Aotearoa to join New Havaiki. Port Jason quickly gained popularity within the nation due to its active members and rapid growth.

Port Jason received a donation of 1800 gold from an anonymous individual referred to by Baconmayonaise1 as 'Jason'. This donation helped the town reach a milestone of 100 chunks, making it the most populated city in New Zealand, with over 20 residents.

=== Independence War ===
The Zealandia independence war is an ongoing conflict involving the separation from the Republic of Havaiki.
