The Second Zealandian War began on July 23, 2024, subsequent to the emergence of rampant killings and disputes between two major [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geography%20of%20New%20Zealand Aotearoa] nations, [[Aurora:Zealandia|Zealandia]] and [[Aurora:Havaiki|Havaiki]]. Reportedly, these attacks were instigated by the [[Aurora:Havaiki|Havaikians]].

== First Atua Offensive ==
Soon after the [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZNGfrD2-oWqjL294q7crCdiBZJ9WDHDeH8kW8Zc0yd4/edit?usp=sharing war declaration], Zealandia initiated an offensive on Havaiki's capital, Atua. Through overclaim, the Zealandians were able to raid and claim a portion of the city (under the Zealandian town of Silverwood).

== July 24 Raid / Atua Advances ==
The following day, on July 24, 2024, a raid on Atua began, resulting in more land being overclaimed. This led to half of Atua's capital building being taken over, along with the portion of Atua already captured prior.

== Presence of Havaikian troops in Zealandian territory ==
Due to the active war and territory claimed from Atua, Havaikian troops were spotted patrolling around Zealandia frequently. Some camped outside towns, most notably Rakiura and [[Aurora: Port Jason | Port Jason]], while others simply wandered around the wilderness in pursuit of any Zealandian citizens, trying to lure them out from claims to kill them.

== Fort Junta Attack ==
On July 27, 2024, Zealandian forces advanced to Fort Junta, beginning a brief standoff with the defending Havaikian troops. The confrontation concluded with the Zealandians launching an abrupt assault, which resulted in significant casualties. Five Zealandian troops were killed, whereas not a single Havaikian suffered any casualties.

== Springsville's Havaikian Annexation ==
On August 3, 2024, the previously Zealandian town of Springsville was incorporated into Havaikian territory. This occurred after a group of Havaikians successfully convinced jojjct, the town's leader, to hand Springsville over to Havaiki.

On August 3, 2024, the Battle of Havingston took place, stemming from an unanticipated Zealandian standoff. Of the approximately 7-9 people involved, 4 were Havaikian. The conflict resulted in the deaths of roughly 3-5 Zealandians, while only 1 Havaikian was slain (twice).

== Unification Proposal ==
On August 3, 2024, the Zealandians came forward with a unification proposal. The matter was discussed at the Havaiki City - Port Haman border and in Discord. It was reviewed up until Bacon's departure where it was ultimately denied by Havaiki. Zealandia had conducted several votes during the review of the proposal, with Thattreething14 expressing a strong desire to lead the new nation. However, this quickly led to both Zealandians and Havaikians becoming increasingly apprehensive due to his controversial history.

== Zealandia's Downfall ==
Zealandia's downfall began when their king, Baconmayonaise1, resigned from EarthMC and relinquished his title to mooseguy65. Shortly after assuming power, mooseguy65 confessed to providing information—specifically vote results and chat history—to Zealandia's adversary, Havaiki. This discovery infuriated Baconmayonaise1 and ignited a series of disputes between him (and his closest affiliates) and mooseguy65, with him even threatening to return solely to dismantle Zealandia. The central issues brought up in these disputes were the idea that mooseguy65 should have transferred power to another individual and that Baconmayonaise1 himself had also shared information (vote results) with Havaiki. The weight of these claims, coupled with Zealandia's already unstable situation, ultimately led mooseguy65 to dissolve the nation.

Port Jason was first founded and settled in on March 31st, 2024, as a city under the nation of Aotearoa and later Havaiki. As of July 2024, the population of Port Jason is 70. The mayor of Port Jason is Baconmayonaise1, who is also one of the founding members of it and the king of the entire country of Zealandia.

As mentioned, the establishment of Port Jason occurred on March 31st, 2024. This establishment came when the mayor and founder Baconmayonaise1 escaped from the corruption of the previous New Mexican leadership before [[Aurora: New Mexico | New Mexico]] was sold. Before the newly forming town of Port Jason joined Havaiki, Baconmayonaise1 recruited three members: Snowy_36, TheJTime, and Scrambledtots. These three plus Bacon became known as the founding members of Port Jason. Along with Bacon and the three other founders, a player by the name of Orbious was also key to the establishment of Port Jason. Orbious was also key to the establishment of Port Jason's sister city, Sailport. After only three days following the founding of the city, Port Jason left the nation of Aotearoa to join [[Aurora:Havaiki|Havaiki]]. While it was in Havaiki, Port Jason quickly gained popularity due to its rapid growth and active members compared to other Havaikian settlements.

==Namesake==
In its early days, Port Jason received a donation of 1800 gold from an anonymous individual referred to by mayor Baconmayonaise1 as 'Jason'. This donation helped the town reach a milestone of 100 chunks, making it the most populated city in Havaiki and the archipelago of New Zealand in general. This individual therefore became the namesake behind both Port Jason and the District of Jason

==Harassment from Havaikians and Conflict Build-up==
From what seemed to be out of nowhere with no justification, a Port Jason citizen was harassed and trolled by the Havaikians who simply wouldn't stop despite the leader of the District of Jason intervening. This lead the residents of Port Jason to leave the Discord, instigating an independence plan involving all district member cities, which were to leave Havaiki altogether. The president of Zealandia, Baconmayonaise1, announced quote: "Havaiki and Zealandia could never work into one nation due to this behavior and toxicity we have had to face from them." After this, the Republic of Zealandia soon claimed sovereignty.

==Secession from Havaiki and formation of Zealandia==
As stated, after the events of harassment from Havaikians, Zealandia quickly became independent. This independence was created from the former leader of the District of Jason deciding to hold a vote to determine if independence from Havaiki was desired, in which the vote was unanimously in favor of independence. Consequently, an independence plan was enacted, and 2000 gold was raised in 4 days thanks to donors such as Orbious, Khaled, and Baconmayonaise1, among others. Shortly after its founding, Zealandia faced an "invasion" by Havaiki, resulting in significant casualties for Zealandia. An estimated 1 Havaikians were lost, compared to roughly 0 members of Port Jason.

==Independence War==

Because of the invasion of Port Jason from Havaiki due to the independence vote results, Zealandia retaliated, starting with an attack and invasion on Havaiki forces at the Havaikian military base ''Atua''. An estimated 15 players were involved in this first battle, with the battle in general heating up the conflict. This independence war would continue until June 16, 2024, where both sides signed a peace treaty. This officially marked the end of the war, and marked independence for Port Jason and Zealandia as a whole.

=Present Day=
Today, Port Jason is still thriving, with it often being compared to New York in terms of infrastructure and manufacturing. The predominant religion in Port Jason today is Catholic, heavily influenced by Pope Leo, a former member of New Mexico. The town is now considered the economic capital of New Zealand, with it being available for members to visit at /n spawn Zealandia.
