It quickly rose to be the most active town in southeast Asia, and continues to be among the most active, democratic and freest towns in EarthMC. In October 2024, Albanic Volkov Family leader, anti-genocidal militant and mayor AdrianHES formed the [[Combatants for the Liberty of Albany and Quebec|CL-AQ]], a militant group with the purpose of returning all exiled Albanites home to the Hudson Valley. Most Albanites are planning to return to the Hudson valley or already have due to the progress made by the government of [[Aurora:Vermont]] and the CL-AQ.

The history of Albany is one of equal conflict and prosperity. Albany was and is a prime landing spot for immigrants to the USA, some of which leave Albany in search of other American towns. Albany is the home of a vibrant small community, who take pride in the towns small size. Albany has also been the subject of several land disputes, the most prominent being the town's ongoing blockade in the west by Death Valley, Illinois.

Albany was founded on 12 February, 2021 by AdrianHES with the financial and technical help of current New York governor Lucas2011. Soon after, roads and houses began to be erected by AdrianHES and other new town members. Several shops were also built, but they never flourished due to the almost nonexistant out-of-town traffic through Albany.

Albany suffered greatly during the height of the war between the United States and the NAP. Having exhausted most funds on geographic expansion, the town went bankrupt in mid-March, 2021. A small loan of 362 gold was acquired by a generous American politician, and by May, the town was back on its feet and growing stronger than ever before.

NWT's follows communist economic principles, although participating in a pseudo-capitalist system as required by the shop system. They achieve this by having a robust welfare system, entitling every town to 100 gold after 2 weeks. Their economy relies on fishing and their nation shop, both of which are new and rapidly growing industries within the nation. Currently, their economy is quite small. Their are no major international stores located in NWT. Their are a large array of local shops around different towns, although there is not much of a market for embassy plots. A lot of monetary resources come from mining in the western portions of the country, while fishing in the east.

The government consists of the representatives, elected every month, that then elect two of themselves to become the prime minister and the speaker of the house for that month. The prime minister then selects half the number of the representatives, minus one, to be their cabinet ministers for that month. The prime minister finally decides what role the CM will fulfill; Economy, defense, interior, and others are popular picks. The speaker of the house will throughout the month assemble the representatives to discuss a topic and come to a consensus on how the government should proceed on that topic.

For the next couple of weeks, NWT acted peacefully, signing multiple non-aggression pacts with other nations. These included [[Aurora:Cascadia|Cascadia]], [[Aurora:Vermont|Vermont]], and Ontario. Relations were good, and NWT was gaining towns very fast.

After [[Aurora:Cascadia|Cascadia]] created the town Ythan_Adevir close to Castle John, the most populated city in NWT, tensions heated up as NWT asked for this town to be moved further south as it blocks a road that was poised to be used for transport by NWT citizens and as a place for towns to be founded upon. The Cascadian Settlers declined this offer, which caused NWT to enter war with [[Aurora:Cascadia|Cascadia]] to ensure the safety of their claims. Since this war began, 2 more illegal townships created by Cascadia have been settled in the NWT, "Error" and "Beaver_Lake". Due to this war, Prime Minister RuffWoof resigned and the founders were put in place to run the country until a worthy candidate was selected. Eventually, TheSnowic was elected as Prime Minister for the month of November. After this, NWT briefly joined the Californian PSA meganation before later leaving and joining the Arctic Pact alliance due to right-wing ideology being heavily promoted in the nation.
