Madagascar is a member state of the African Union alongside Nubia, Egypt, Mauretania, and Lake Victoria.

Madagascar was first created on April 17, 2026. Initial plans were to build a city along the north river, with the city of Madagascar (now named Antananarivo) being created by Swoozegames on behalf of the nation. However, following reconsideration by the Chancellory, the decision was made to move the capital to the area further south that now bears the name Antananarivo (now named Madagascar). The nation was later established on the 20th of April, 2026, after its players reached the 5,120 gold required. Approximately 15-20 players joined and participated in Madagascan activities during the Premium Era, which lasted from 17 April to 1 May.

During this time, Madagascar became a member of the African Union, alongside Nubia and Egypt.

Upon release of the server to the public on 1 May, the nation quickly grew. Within 48 hours, the nation had tripled to over 60 residents, which qualified the Kingdom for a nation bonus of 50 chunks. This made Madagascar one of the most rapidly growing nations on the server.

==== Lake Victoria "Balls" Incident ====

On May 3, 2026, Lake Victoria announced a declaration of war against Madagascar for "going against Big Cow." Lake Victoria, which at the time was allied with Madagascar, caught some residents by surprise. This would also mark the first time that Madagascar had a war declared against them since the Manchuria-Madagascar Scuffle of 2019. In response, the Chancellery posted [https://imgur.com/a/3rSUQH0 this picture] entitled, "Balls", which features a character from a popular TV show. This was viewed by outside observers as a rejection of the declaration, primarily due to Madagascar's status as a peaceful nation. In the week of the 15th of May 2026 the first election for the new role of Prime Minister was held. Following a closely contested election, LenoreXB came out on top by one vote, becoming Madagascar's first Prime Minister. Read more in the Government and Politics section.

On the first day of the moon update, on August 30th add___123 became the first Madagascar astronaut on the moon, and Madagascar became the second nation in Africa to make the trip.

== Government and Politics ==

Madagascar is a Parliamentary Monarchy. Members of Parliament are unelected and generally town mayors, as well as active players, all appointed by the Monarch and Chancellors. MPs can propose legislation, which is voted on each Friday (unless it is during an election week, in which case the legislation is tabled until after the election.) An election is held within the Parliament every 120 days for the role of the Prime Minister, who leads the executive branch of the Government in relation to interior affairs.

In the week of May 15, 2026, the first election for Prime Minister was held. There were two candidates:
* FFJerry23 (MFP)
* LenoreXB (Ind.)
* Swoozegames (Ind.)
The campaign was notably competitive, despite both the Madagascar Forward Party (MFP) and LenoreXB advocating a relatively relaxed and cooperative approach to Malagasy politics. During the election period, Porkchopman123, a Malagasy Mayor and former Member of Parliament, made several hostile accusations towards the MFP. Among these were allegations that the party's Chairman, Opluentia, was an Egyptian influencing Madagascan elections for foreign interests, due to his close associations with Veyronity, Andre1098, and JR1258, all prominent Egyptian figures. Porkchopman123 also claimed that the MFP's candidate, FFJerry23, would act as a political “puppet” for Opluentia and argued that the party's organisational advantages gave it an unfair edge over any independent candidate.

Alleged fears from LenoreXB and Porkchopman123 that foreigners may join Madagascar and rig the vote in the favour of the MFP pushed King MR_GR3EN to decree that, until a bill was passed with a satisfactory solution to this issue, only the unelected Members of Parliament and Chancellors would be allowed a vote in general elections. This was despite the Parliament Reform Act, MR_GR3EN’s Act which created the position of Prime Minister and allowed MPs to legislate, explicitly stating, “All citizens of Madagascar are allowed to vote on who should become Prime Minister.”

Swoozegames, a Malagasy Chancellor, entered the race late, running to lighten the mood. His campaign was deliberately satirised, but drew support from Madagascans who were tired of the political struggle that had characterised the election, especially the lengthy debates caused by the accusations. He ran on the promises of enslaving all of Madagascar, building a giant wall around the island, and putting all the resources and manpower in the nation to work on an F1 track.

Although Swoozegames ran as a joke, he still secured enough of the vote to cause a draw, with FFJerry23 and LenoreXB securing the same proportion of votes. A second round was called by the King, MR_GR3EN, which again resulted in a draw, until Swoozegames’ failed initial attempt to allow him to have the casting say, practically unilaterally selecting LenoreXB to serve as the first Prime Minister of Madagascar.

After two rounds of voting (and several spoiled ballots), LenoreXB was declared the winner of the contested election. He is the current Prime Minister, who will likely lead the Government until elections are held again in September.

Madagascar was first created on April 17, 2026. Initial plans were to build a city along the north river, with the city of Madagascar (now named Antananarivo) being created by Swoozegames on behalf of the nation. However, following reconsideration by the Chancellory, the decision was made to move the capital to the area further south that now bears the name Antananarivo (now named Madagascar). The nation was later established on the 20th of April, 2026, after its players reached the 5,120 gold required. Approximately 15-20 players joined and participated in Madagascan activities during the Premium Era, which lasted from 17 April to 1 May.

During this time, Madagascar became a member of the African Union, alongside Nubia and Egypt.

Upon release of the server to the public on 1 May, the nation quickly grew. Within 48 hours, the nation had tripled to over 60 residents, which qualified the Kingdom for a nation bonus of 50 chunks. This made Madagascar one of the most rapidly growing nations on the server.

==== Lake Victoria "Balls" Incident ====

On May 3, 2026, Lake Victoria announced a declaration of war against Madagascar for "going against Big Cow." Lake Victoria, which at the time was allied with Madagascar, caught some residents by surprise. This would also mark the first time that Madagascar had a war declared against them since the Manchuria-Madagascar Scuffle of 2019. In response, the Chancellery posted [https://imgur.com/a/3rSUQH0 this picture] entitled, "Balls", which features a character from a popular TV show. This was viewed by outside observers as a rejection of the declaration, primarily due to Madagascar's status as a peaceful nation. After 30 days, the war declaration was quietly dropped, marking Madagascar's first "conflict victory" in seven years.

In the week of the 15th of May 2026 the first election for the new role of Prime Minister was held. Following a closely contested election, LenoreXB came out on top by one vote, becoming Madagascar's first Prime Minister. Read more in the Government and Politics section.

== Government and Politics ==

Madagascar is a Parliamentary Monarchy. Members of Parliament are unelected and generally town mayors, as well as active players, all appointed by the Monarch and Chancellors. MPs can propose legislation, which is voted on each Friday (unless it is during an election week, in which case the legislation is tabled until after the election.) An election is held within the Parliament every 120 days for the role of the Prime Minister, who leads the executive branch of the Government in relation to interior affairs.

=== First Government of LenoreXB ===
In the week of May 15, 2026, the first election for Prime Minister was held. There were two candidates:
* FFJerry23 (MFP)
* LenoreXB (Ind.)
* Swoozegames (Ind.)
The campaign was notably competitive, despite both the Madagascar Forward Party (MFP) and LenoreXB advocating a relatively relaxed and cooperative approach to Malagasy politics. During the election period, Porkchopman123, a Malagasy Mayor and former Member of Parliament, made several hostile accusations towards the MFP. Among these were allegations that the party's Chairman, Opluentia, was an Egyptian influencing Madagascan elections for foreign interests, due to his close associations with Veyronity, Andre1098, and JR1258, all prominent Egyptian figures. Porkchopman123 also claimed that the MFP's candidate, FFJerry23, would act as a political “puppet” for Opluentia and argued that the party's organisational advantages gave it an unfair edge over any independent candidate.

Alleged fears from LenoreXB and Porkchopman123 that foreigners may join Madagascar and rig the vote in the favour of the MFP pushed King MR_GR3EN to decree that, until a bill was passed with a satisfactory solution to this issue, only the unelected Members of Parliament and Chancellors would be allowed a vote in general elections. This was despite the Parliament Reform Act, MR_GR3EN’s Act which created the position of Prime Minister and allowed MPs to legislate, explicitly stating, “All citizens of Madagascar are allowed to vote on who should become Prime Minister.”

Swoozegames, a Malagasy Chancellor, entered the race late, running to lighten the mood. His campaign was deliberately satirised, but drew support from Madagascans who were tired of the political struggle that had characterised the election, especially the lengthy debates caused by the accusations. He ran on the promises of enslaving all of Madagascar, building a giant wall around the island, and putting all the resources and manpower in the nation to work on an F1 track.

Although Swoozegames ran as a joke, he still secured enough of the vote to cause a draw, with FFJerry23 and LenoreXB securing the same proportion of votes. A second round was called by the King, MR_GR3EN, which again resulted in a draw, until Swoozegames’ failed initial attempt to allow him to have the casting say, practically unilaterally selecting LenoreXB to serve as the first Prime Minister of Madagascar.

After two rounds of voting (and several spoiled ballots), LenoreXB was declared the winner of the contested election. He is the current Prime Minister, who will likely lead the Government until elections are held again in September.

=== Madagascar is Founded (17th April - 1st May 2026) ===

Madagascar was first created on April 17, 2026. Initial plans were to build a city along the north river, with the city of Madagascar being created by Swoozegames on behalf of the nation. However, following reconsideration by the Chancellory, the decision was made to move the capital to the area further south that now bears the name Antananarivo. The nation was later established on the 20th April 2026 after its players reached the 5,120 gold required. Approximately 15-20 players joined and participated in Madagascan activities during the Premium Era, which lasted from 17 April to 1 May.

During this time, Madagascar became a member of the African Union, alongside Nubia and Egypt.

==== Population Explosion ====
Upon release of the server to the public on 1 May, the nation quickly grew. Within 48 hours, the nation had tripled to over 60 residents, which qualified the Kingdom for a nation bonus of 50 chunks. This made Madagascar one of the most rapidly growing nations on the server.

==== Lake Victoria "Balls" Incident ====

On May 3, 2026, Lake Victoria announced a declaration of war against Madagascar for "going against Big Cow." Lake Victoria, who at the time was allied with Madagascar, caught some residents by surprise. This would also mark the first time that Madagascar had a war declared against them since the Manchuria-Madagascar Scuffle of 2019. In response, the Chancellery posted [https://imgur.com/a/3rSUQH0 this picture] entitled, "Balls", which features a character from a popular TV show. This was viewed by outside observers as a rejection of the declaration, primarily due to Madagascar's status as a peaceful nation. After 30 days, the war declaration was quietly dropped, marking Madagascar's first "conflict victory" in seven years.

==== First Prime Ministerial Election ====
In the week of the 15th of May 2026 the first election for the new role of Prime Minister was held. Following a closely contested election, LenoreXB came out on top by one vote, becoming Madagascar's first Prime Minister. Read more in the Government and Politics section.

== Government and Politics ==

Madagascar is a Parliamentary Monarchy. Members of Parliament are unelected and generally town mayors, as well as active players, all appointed by the Monarch and Chancellors. MPs can propose legislation, which is voted on each Friday (unless it is during an election week, in which case the legislation is tabled until after the election.) An election is held within the Parliament every 120 days for the role of the Prime Minister, who leads the executive branch of the Government in relation to interior affairs.

=== First Government of LenoreXB ===
In the week of May 15, 2026, the first election for Prime Minister was held. There were two candidates:
* FFJerry23 (MFP)
* LenoreXB (Ind.)
* Swoozegames (Ind.)
The campaign was notably competitive, despite both the Madagascar Forward Party (MFP) and LenoreXB advocating a relatively relaxed and cooperative approach to Malagasy politics. During the election period, Porkchopman123, a Malagasy Mayor and former Member of Parliament, made several hostile accusations towards the MFP. Among these were allegations that the party's Chairman, Opluentia, was an Egyptian influencing Madagascan elections for foreign interests, due to his close associations with Veyronity, Andre1098, and JR1258, all prominent Egyptian figures. Porkchopman123 also claimed that the MFP's candidate, FFJerry23, would act as a political “puppet” for Opluentia and argued that the party's organisational advantages gave it an unfair edge over any independent candidate.

Alleged fears from LenoreXB and Porkchopman123 that foreigners may join Madagascar and rig the vote in the favour of the MFP pushed King MR_GR3EN to decree that, until a bill was passed with a satisfactory solution to this issue, only the unelected Members of Parliament and Chancellors would be allowed a vote in general elections. This was despite the Parliament Reform Act, MR_GR3EN’s Act which created the position of Prime Minister and allowed MPs to legislate, explicitly stating, “All citizens of Madagascar are allowed to vote on who should become Prime Minister.”

Swoozegames, a Malagasy Chancellor, entered the race late, running to lighten the mood. His campaign was deliberately satirised, but drew support from Madagascans who were tired of the political struggle which had characterised the election, especially the lengthy debates caused by the accusations. He ran on the promises of enslaving all of Madagascar, building a giant wall around the island, and putting all the resources and manpower in the nation to work on an F1 track.

Although Swoozegames ran as a joke, he still secured enough of the vote to cause a draw, with FFJerry23 and LenoreXB securing the same proportion of votes. A second round was called by the King, MR_GR3EN, which again resulted in a draw, until Swoozegames’ failed initial attempt to allowed him to have the casting say, practically unilaterally selecting LenoreXB to serve as the first Prime Minister of Madagascar.

After two rounds of voting (and several spoiled ballots), LenoreXB was declared the winner of the contested election. He is the current Prime Minister, who will likely lead the Government until elections are held again in September.

A Citizen of Madagascar is any person who resides within the Kingdom of Madagascar’s territorial claims and who is recognised as a citizen under privileges delegated by the Chancellery. Further defined as a resident within the Kingdom’s Core Territory or an Integrated Territory, or otherwise covered by the Kingdom’s territorial claims. Furthermore a citizen is one who is recognized/confirmed by the Chancellery under its delegated authority.
A citizen is entitled to the rights, protections, and participation privileges afforded to Madagascan citizens by law and Chancellery rules (including eligibility for government roles where specified).

==== Article II: Rights Afforded ====
The Freedom of speech, conscience, assembly, and movement consistent with public order and safety. 
Access to fair and impartial justice. 
The right to participate in government through lawful appointment, election, petition, and peaceful civic engagement. 
Protection from unlawful intrusion into personal affairs and confidential information. 
The right to own, use, and transfer property subject to lawful regulation and public interest. 

==== Article III Governing Bodies ====
Hereonto is the governing body of Madagascar and her people. 
Section A) The Monarch 
Role: Head of state and nation holder of the Kingdom of Madagascar; exercises supreme authority over the Kingdom and the Madagascan Commonwealth and holds ruling decision within the Chancellery. 
How attained: 
- Appointed by the current Monarch upon their resignation. 
- Eligible appointee must have served as a Madagascan Chancellor for more than 3 months. 
Abilities: 
- Exercise supreme authority on matters of state and Commonwealth affairs. 
- Make final rulings within the Chancellery. 
Responsibilities: 
- Uphold the Kingdom’s laws, policies, and values. 
- Delegate day-to-day governance to the Chancellery while retaining ultimate authority. 
- When resigning, appoint a qualified Chancellor as successor. 
Removal:
- Succession occurs only by voluntary resignation and appointment as described. 

Section B) Madagascan Chancellery (the Chancellery) 
Role: Supreme governing body responsible for day-to-day administration and jurisdiction over economic, foreign, and confidential internal affairs as delegated by the Monarch. 
How attained: 
- Appointment by the Monarch and/or collective approval of the Chancellery. 
- New Chancellors must be trusted Madagascan citizens approved collectively by existing Chancellors. 
Abilities: 
- Make independent decisions within the Chancellery’s remit. 
- Conduct foreign affairs as delegated by the monarch 
- Implement delegated policy. 
- Appoint new Chancellors by collective approval (in conjunction with the Monarch). 
Responsibilities: 
- Uphold Madagascan policies and values. 
- Communicate intentions and actions within the Chancellery. 
- Administer national and delegated Commonwealth matters. 
Removal: 
- Subject to internal rules and collective decision-making (failure to comply with duties may lead to removal by the Chancellery). 
- By super majority no confidence vote decided on by the collective members of parliament. 
Section C) Member of Parliament (MP) 
Role: Representative in the general government and largest governing body; participates in proposing, debating, and voting on bills for matters not covered by the constitution. 
How attained: 
- Selected (nominated) by the Madagascan Chancellery for noticeable activity and trustworthiness. That is, weekly activity. 
-By founding a town within Madagascar. 
- Only Madagascan Citizens residing in the Kingdom or an Integrated Territory are eligible. 
- Acceptance of nomination required. 
Abilities: 
- Vote on, introduce, co-sponsor, and endorse bills in Parliament. 
- Vote on, introduce, co-sponsor, and endorse constitutional amendments in Parliament. 
- Promote Malagasy interests. 
- Access Parliament communication channels. 
- Resign from Parliament. 
Responsibilities: 
- Actively participate in bill voting and debates. 
- Follow all Kingdom rules and policies. 
- Ensure internal cooperation. 
- Communicate with Parliament when required. 
- Pledge loyalty to Madagascar. 
Removal: 
- Failure to meet requirements or misconduct may result in forced resignation by the chancellery. 
- Majority vote by fellow members of parliament. (The vote of the subject is null during no-confidence voting).

Definition: An overseas territory administered as an extension of the Kingdom with full jurisdiction by Madagascar and no nation-level devolved governance. 
Participation: 
- Citizens of Integrated Territories may participate fully in Madagascan Government (including Parliament and Chancellery eligibility where applicable).

Section A) Core Territory 
- Defined as the Island of Madagascar and its immediate outlying islands. 
- The Kingdom exerts complete jurisdiction over Core Territory; towns within third-party nations claiming such areas are regarded as invasive. 
International Territory of Mutual Interest (ITMI): 
- Territory outside Madagascar Proper that may be claimed by Madagascan towns but is not recognized as a third-party nation’s core territory; may be shared with towns of third-party nations. 

Section B) Colonies 
Definition: An administrative area of the Madagascan Commonwealth led by a Governor; may have devolved government. 
Relationship to central government: 
- Governors are subservient to the Madagascan Chancellery but not to Parliament. 
- Citizens of Colonies may be appointed to the Chancellery but may not serve in Parliament while residing in a Colony (except current Chancellors).
