The Dark Era (Classic)

Timeframe: March 2017-Early April 2017

This era refers to when the server was at its darkest times. During this time many towns and nations were driven from the server due to a large amount of hackers, greifers and generally toxic players.

The war system in place at the beginning of the era had huge flaws and made it so most towns didn't want to have 2 or more players in their towns as that meant they could be attacked. This also lead to exploits such as starting a war and then kicking one of their own players to make any counter attack impossible.

== The Flawed War System ==
It was never decided when it was started, however, the best place to look would have to be in the time when [[Trash_Corporation]] and [[Hoting]] combined together to make [[Soviet]] (later renamed Russia). In the time Soviet was formed, a mass coalition of 2 sides was formed, one dead set on ruining the server, and the other dead set on saving it.

As in this time the war system was currently flag wars, Russia's coalition became dead set on abusing its ruleset as badly as possible. They managed to turn formerly big towns into a shell of their former selves, simply due to the requirement made to have 2 or more active players at a time. It did not take long before the war system was removed for it's exploitable problems.

== The Griefing Surge ==
Once the war system was removed, they devised different plans to circumvent the war system. [[Zenfloy]] became heavily inspired by Soviet, and began to grief multiple towns for being involved in the coalition against them. His methods, however, did not look bad enough for their standards, and he was driven out in mere days. Soonafter, the town Praxis was formed to keep this momentum lingering for as long as possible.

They used a warfare not even the worst warmongers wanted to use. This warfare involved preventing towns from expanding with outposts. Once it became used, towns became forced to relocate. Entire territories became no man's land. This alone was the worst of this era because a vicious cycle started, and it lingers on to this day.

== The End of the Dark Era ==
[[Praxis]] was long overstaying their welcome. They were always on the line of breaking the server's rules, they were toxic against every active player, and even the server staff.

Praxis was hit hard by a [[Prestige WorldWide (PWW)|PWW]]-lead raid, who took opportunity when the explosion permission had been left on. The fall of [[Praxis]] made bad players become very desperate. The former leader desperately tried to cause as much damage before getting banned himself after a bad decision. They used kamikaze strategies to make their last hurrah as bad for everyone as possible. The banning of [[WuzPoppinJumbo|ArtistTime101]] marked the last player to be involved.

Several of the players were banned for using cheat clients, although the staff wouldn't say who specifically.

Furthermore, early in March, the town of Seaterrica was formed which would end up dominating the server for many months before eventually collapsing. [[Category:Eras]]

== The Beginning Era: August ==
On August 1, 2017, Snail's best friend Tailz8003 took him on a boat trip to a place near the Caucasus. Although the town was not created where IRL Moscow is, but the town had gone through many changes. The day after, he created the town, as it started out as a small, cobblestone and stone brick hut. He made a farm and a house. He also joined the nation Russian_Empire lead by runnerboy72000 until Early September 2017.

== The AlaskanEmpire Era: September ==
During this month, he started taking trips to Jianye (Tailz8003's town). But back at his town, he made a Junkyard (inspired by Kabi's Junkyard) and another house. And he left Russian_Empire, so he could be an independent town and later join another nation. But on September 17, 2017, he got his first resident, SomeRandomName11 (see [[TheNakedSnail_YT]]). And later that day, he joined a nation, AlaskanEmpire, a nation run by leader of Carlym, nino175. Nino175 later became his worst and most hated enemy. Nino175 had a gold farm in Carlym, so he gave TheNakedSnail_YT gold to expand his small town. He enjoyed his life living in this nation.

== The Mughal Era: October ==
After expanding, Snail made houses, to make his town joinable. On October 9, 2017, he left AlaskanEmpire and joined Mughal, a nation run by Waqit. (now called Proda) Then, he tpaed to nino175 and he tpkilled Snail. Then NakedSnail became nino175's enemy. The town got some players in it too. He also met many new players in Waqit's town Tazaia such as CliqueCasino, (Renamed Clique__ ) Memberry, (Rejoined as table_kitten) and also became friends with a player in the town Haiti called MSatrokrm. (Now called Escalante and inactive)

== The European_Union Era: November ==
TheNakedSnail_YT continued to live in Mughal in November 2017 for a few days. On 11/4/2017, Mughal got disbanded, and the town Moscow joined the European_Union, that was run by runnerboy72000. The town gained a ton of new residents during this month. NakedSnail became friends with Hero5232, Mayor of St_Petersburg. On 11/24/2017, a player called Mr_Unwritten hacked the server and turned Moscow's town perms off. Mr_Unwritten, Itz__David, Timmy2Chainz, Wangolf, and runnerboy72000 attacked NakedSnail's home at the town spawn with water and then lava. Some of Snail's dogs died in it. A day later moderator Synargle fixed the town perms. When Hero5232 created Russia on 11/29/2017, he was thinking of joining the nation.

== The Russia Era: December ==
On 12/2/2017, Moscow joined the nation Russia and Oliveer said that it will be mean to leave someone's nation, it would be kind of rude. NakedSnail wanted to and officially joined. NakedSnail will probably permanently live in this nation. Then a day later, a player called TrollingEpically broke the town rules and then left Snail's town and killed him!! Tsar Hero5232 told him to place lava where TrollingEpically left the server. He never did. NakedSnail lived a happy life in the nation Russia. But on 12/16/2017, 2 players Itz__David and Timmy2Chainz said the n word and spammed it a lot. That is when NakedSnail started to hate racism. During NakedSnail's Winter Break IRL, Moscow grew very fast. He started making a building called the "Basso Hotel".

== The Expandation Era: January ==
After New Year 2018 came, Snail kept on expanding his town. Moscow eventually became a "Large Town". He invited a lot of new players, and all of them becoming inactive. >:( A player called CouchMonkey1 (Renamed username THECHANGEDPERSON and then Crayfish_Gamer) became Snail's friend. Moscow went up to a staggering population of 19.

== The Great Purge Era: February ==
On February 5, 2018, the server deleted 8000+ residents and 100+ towns and chest vaults becoming virtual, with this devastating event being called "The Great Purge". Moscow's large population of 19 residents dropped down to 6, and when NakedSnail rejoined the server he was very angry when he saw this. Happily, he invited 2 active players and more players to his town such as koffeeking, (inactive) and StormyStar13. (Now lives in another town.) koffeeking was the most active player in the town back then. Stupidly on February 25, 2018, Snail invited a player called malkolm00 and he remade a house by making it noobish, made a death trap, and made inappropriate signs in it. And malkolm00 said the n word to NakedSnail, then NakedSnail kicked malkolm00 out of the town.

== The Growing Era: March ==
During this month, NakedSnail invited a bunch of new players to his town such as rcolletti, (still active) Roo892, (inactive) and more. Moscow was just a "normal" town in EMC. On March 24, 2018, it was the server's sixth war day, and Snail participated in the Battle of St. Petersburg, the biggest battle in the war. Sadly Snail lost his diamond armor when he jumped in lava. >:( Idk what else to write for this month :P

== The Realistic Era: April ==
On April 1, 2018, for April Fool's Day, the server "reset" jokingly and when Snail realized his town was gone he was very mad when he saw this. But happily a day later his town came back, and Moscow continued to expand and Snail built 2 "Milanese" houses with red roofs. In the middle of the town Snail created a tiny lagoon and a water tube underground connecting to the lagoon. (Not finished yet) Stupidly on April 23, 2018, MLGTerra killed Snail several times and he lost his stuff. But happily he got stuff for himself. During the end of the month and in a very long time, he finally claimed more land!!!!

== The "Small Town" Era: May ==
During May 2018, NakedSnail built more houses and invited a few players to his town such as MutualistManiac. (Came back to EMC and was inactive before that) But then, his town was losing population, which made Snail rage over the server, feeling jealous about those other players with fast growing towns. Happily on May 28-29 2018, he invited a lot of residents to Moscow.

== The Booming Era: June ==
As soon as school ended for NakedSnail IRL, Moscow grew REALLY FAST. (He was extremely happy) On June 10, 2018, after being inactive for 3 days because of moving to another house IRL, Synargle renamed his town Volgograd. (He wanted him to) After Moscow renamed to Volgograd, the town gained a bunch of residents, such as RandyOrton95, (inactive), LealSpicer, (also inactive) and much more. In just about a week, Volgograd's population went from 14 to around 20 - 24. Volgograd became a "City", then a "Large City", when the town hit a crazy staggering population of 24. After this had happened, Snail worked on towns claims more than invited residents to his town preventing inactivity. Players harassed NakedSnail because of his username during this month a lot. (It annoyed him a lot) Sadly, Volgograd's massive population shrank down. It was really annoying TBH.

TheNakedSnail_YT joined the server on June 23, 2017. He was originally called "AidanDaeBerg". About ten minutes later after he joined, he saw some swear words in the chat box, so he said: "Swearing is not allowed", but the players online sweared over him. He explored around Europe because he liked traveling (He still likes traveling today). Some time later, he saw a player chatting a lot called Beelzeus. He wanted to join Beelzeus's town Kabi and he did. [[Beelzeus]] gave him a tour of Kabi and Beelzeus gave TheNakedSnail_YT his home plot. But then, Snail kept exploring. He enjoyed some life living in a town. On June 25/26 2017, he met a player called Tailz8003, so he said to him: "Tailz8003 be my friend." And they did become friends. On the same day, Tailz8003 showed NakedSnail /tpa, /t spawn, the Jingian towns, and more. They also talked about random stuff too. On July 1, 2017, he met [[Buddha (Keenno90)|Keenno90]], so he asked if he can make a vacation house on one of Lhasa's outposts. On July 5, 2017, a player called TTimmy tried to kill him, and, happily Snail escaped. On July 10, 2017, he the very first time voted. He enjoyed EarthMC in July 2017, doing random things and hanging out. In the July 17-21 week, he wanted to grow up quicker, so he said: "My future town is gonna be Jing:Shangai." But he changed his mind in the July 24-28 week, so he was gonna make his town called [[Moscow]] and gonna make a nation called EasternRussia. Once he got his 51 gold, he decided to make his very own town.

In Late September and Early October 2017, AlaskanEmpire's King nino175 gave him gold a lot, and he expanded his small town. But on October 9, 2017, a player called Waqit told him he will give plenty wood as possible. And he joined Waqit's nation Mughal. On October 10, 2017, he tpaed to nino175 and nino175 klutzily killed him because nino175 realized NakedSnail left AlaskanEmpire. He lived in Mughal during October 2017, but on November 4, 2017, Waqit disbanded Mughal, so, he joined the nation European_Union on November 6, 2017. On November 12, 2017, he found out the EarthMC wikia. He kept living a happy life in the European_Union. Stupidly on November 24, 2017, a player called Mr_Unwritten ''hacked the server and ruined his home.'' On November 29, 2017, a player living in the European_Union called Hero5232 created a nation called [[Russia]]. So, on December 2, 2017, he joined the nation Russia. In Mid-December 2017, he got so surprised that Russia's capital St_Petersburg got so many residents. He lived in Russia doing good things. In Late December 2017, he wanted racism to end because it is cruelly bad. His town grew very fast in December 2017 because IRL he was on Winter Break outta school. After New Year 2018 came, NakedSnail kept on expanding his beloved building the Basso Hotel, and he also voted a lot. Stupidly again on January 29, 2018, 73beetle and his army attacked his town and killed his dogs and nino175 stole all of his 389 gold. This terrible event is known as the [[Siege of Moscow]]. So, Snail will keep asking for gold and mine every day. Sadly on February 5, 2018, the server deleted all inactive players and his town population shrank from 19 to 6 (He was very upset to find that out). But happily through a four day period, he got 4 more residents and his town population got up to 10. Sadly, when his town population hit 12, it went back to 9. But when Snail invited a random player to his town, the population hit 10. Funnily on April 1, 2018, the server "reset" jokingly, and he was so mad his town was gone, but it was not. During April 2018, he is planning to claim land again after nearly 6 months, and he did!!!! Ridiculously on April 23, 2018, stupid MLGTerra (Soviet_Terra) pretended to be another player and killed him 3 - 4 times and he stole his stuff. But happily he worked on getting new items and expanding his town. Sadly, his town kept growing and shrinking, with doubtfulness. Sadly again on May 16, 2018, he climbed the tallest building in Lucas2011's town and fell off it. And his stuff despawned. He was very mad until he raided Afrika (Itz__David and Timmy2Chainz's town) to get resources. He enjoyed the server during May 2018, during random stuff. On 5/28/2018 he traveled across the Indian Ocean from Swahili to Auckland. He also got even more annoyed with the racism on the server. On June 10, 2018, he renamed his town Moscow to Volgograd. As soon as he renamed his town, the population grew drastically (He was very happy). His town's population reached 24 and then he started working on town claims. It shrank a lot (Annoying). NakedSnail gained residents such as Dovahwulf, The_Pixel_God, and more. On July 4, 2018, Snail joined the nation TsaristRussia. He continued to have conflicts with Austrian players such as Oretin_ and JADENJUMBO. While he was building one of his houses, those Austrian players Oretin_ and JADENJUMBO started to burn down trees north of his town with other Austrian players such as RoccoMinerTaco. They annoyed him a lot. NakedSnail kept working on his town, and was focused sometimes. Stupidly on July 15, 2018, JADENJUMBO pretended to be Snail's friend for 1 hour and showed NakedSnail JADENJUMBO's town The_Salt_Shack. When Snail was mining with JADENJUMBO he just started hitting NakedSnail with fire and died when NakedSnail rejoined the server. But then, NakedSnail got a brand new set of diamond tools and armor. He believes that he will NEVER, ever EVER be killed again.

=== Antarctica, Mining, and a Man Named Clay ===
The first few words that Oreo_D, a user who was relatively new to Towny and multiplayer servers in general, spoke on EMC went something along the lines of "I need wood". A user, Claydaboss, offered to teleport Oreo to a jungle. Oreo, of course, accepted this, and after a few minutes of chopping, Clay invited Oreo to his town, Mergoarctica. Oreo readily accepted, was given a plot and tools, and started mining. He discovered the anti-XRAY feature, which freaked him out a bit, but after some resource gathering, he started to build his house.

After building the house, visiting Mergopolis(And meeting some of its residents), and having a few snowball fights with Clay, Oreo was promoted to Builder.

Oreo considers himself an amateur builder, though some may disagree, but he was dedicated to his job of building anything and everything he saw fit for the growing town of Mergoarctica(Though since he was new, confused, and slightly anxious, he didn't accomplish as much as he would've liked). He aided construction on a wall, built a watch tower, docks, dug a path through the ice that starts at said docks and leads to the ocean, and lit up the area around the town. His activity on the server declined when he'd burnt out a bit.

Of course, since all good things must come to an end, Oreo was welcomed back into the server one day by the news that his city(Now called Eis Stadt*) was no longer part of Earthera, and was invited by [[Pansebjorn]] into his own town, Giluwe. Oreo packed, attempted to blow up his house(It didn't work), and ran.

Because his luck was clearly run out, Oreo found that Giluwe had been kicked from the nation. He moved once again, this time to the capital city of Mergopolis, where he started building after a day of plot claiming errors.

Oreo considered moving back to Giluwe once it was accepted back into the nation, but since Mergopolis will not leave the nation, being the capital, he decided to stay and open up a tavern(The tavern has had no customers so far.)

==Backstory

IanSpace71 is an EarthMC player that joined in December. He originally joined Osaka, but then later moved to Munich in Germany, staying there for a couple days before sailing to the Solomon islands to create his town. Ian originally named it Megapolis, after a fake city he made up in school, but later changed it to Mergopolis due to confusion with MegaOpolis, a Canadian city.

His town joined 2 nations: Hanza, and Sonlow, but eventually funded the nation of Mergopolia. The name was later changed to Oceania, and then to SolomonEmpire before Ian joined Germany, due to towns rapidly leaving the nation.

However, after 73Beetle(Amazing guy) started the German Revolution, many towns left the nation, including Ian's town Mergopolis. From there he went on to found the World Union, however it was deleted due to stress from Japan and Alaska.

Ian's town then joined Russia, then bounced back and fourth between Russia and Germany, gaining more and more residents. Then, due to a server glitch, he lost 203 gold. The amazing admin Brendan, however, gave him a random nation he made, becoming Ian's newest nation, The Empire of The Sea. This nation grew a bit, then became a vassal of Japan.

Ian then went on to create the newest sub continent Solomonia. After declaring independence from Japan, Ian then went on to found the nation of Earthera, a strong globalist nation until its decline in late June of 2018. Ian now works on a project to build more land into the pacific, looks for expansion areas, and waits for a server reset
