==History==
Meridian was founded on November 24, 2023 by '''BluRoux''', after he traveled on foot and by boat from central Asia to the town of Boise, then held by the player Skunked. After founding the town, BluRoux created the Old Downtown area and carved out the Snake River, which now flows through central Meridian and WildWood. It was originally located between Boise (Skunked), Iron (Kwemony), and Astoria (zazzyist).

=== December 2024 to January 2025 ===
The first week of December saw the creation of nearby towns Idaho_Falls (GodOfChezIts) and Winnemucca (tomatillo1), later renamed to Nevada. Both towns rapidly expanded in both size and population. Meridian began recruiting as a result. Its first resident, AzraelCometh, joined in early December. Population would reach 20 by January 1.

Idaho_Falls was stolen by Continentalia on January 2, 2025. Meridian began expansion the same day by overclaiming the town, and would eventually claim all of Idaho_Falls by March 2025.

=== February 2025 to July 2025 ===
Early 2025 saw the slow but steady expansion of Meridian's territory and population. By late May, population would peak at 90 residents while total area surpassed 500 chunks. Many of Meridian's most active players joined during this period and later created towns surrounding Meridian, giving rise to the Meridian metro area.

Southern expansion included the overclaiming of Nevada, most of which was taken by late May.

=== July 2025 and Since ===
Population reached 100 by mid July. Meridian expanded quickly and renovated Nevada's old buildings, where much of the population now lives. City Hall and the Meridian Mall were completed around this time.

In late August, population reached 111 and town size passed 800 chunks.
