== History ==
Cascadia 2022-2023

Moxicodone joined EMC on October 6th 2022. Moxie spent their 1st few days drifting from town to town before asking SayerQT to join Olympia, Cascadia. Moxicodone had joined EMC with the intent of building a city. Since Olympia was mostly empty and Sayer wasn't a builder, Moxie became the primary builder of Olympia. Olympia soon became one of the most developed cities on the West Coast. In retrospect the city was quite small and amateur but was important for the time. Moxicodone then spent late 2022 and Early 2023 hopping between Cascadian towns. Building up the towns of Salem, Port Orchard, Yakima and Victoria. By mid 2023 Moxicodone traded up to the town Oceanside, what's now Astoria. Moxie demolished most of the old downtown and began renovating the city despite the wishes of the founder, Milgorn123. Moxicodone soon helped Milgorn with the planning and construction of Seattle helping it become developed after being left empty for most of Emc at that point. But conflict between Moxie and Milgorn would soon arise. Milgorn wanted to incorporate Yakima into Ephrata to the North. Moxie had a plan with Bachuhini to pay him to rebuild Yakima since he had destroyed it. So Milgorn banned Moxie from the build server and since the deal fell apart Yakima was given to a rando and abandoned. In retaliation Moxicodone deleted Oceanside to get back at Milgorn.

Sequoia Federation 2023-2024

Moxie then moved to Utah with Yapan. They created the nation known as Basin. It was a direct democracy with the capitol of Salt Lake city. Soon Basin and Jefferson along with the minor nations in California formed to create the Sequoia Federation. It was a loose confederation with a council overseeing all the nations. Moxie would work with Yapan to turn the abandoned salt lake city Into a proper city. Eventually as they both began to burn out and with the looming threat of Overclaim they decided to move back to Yapan's old town of Passage Bay and split it into 3 towns. Moxie got the eastern part of PB which was named Sainte-Marie. Sequoia soon collapsed into Jefferson as overclaim was about to be introduced.

Cascadia 2024-2025

In Jefferson Moxicodone escaped their horrible reputation that they had in Cascadia and became the Jefferson Secretary of the Interior and soon worked to build a highway system within California. When Jefferson merged into Cascadia, Moxicodone had an entirely new reputation. Moxicodone was now a seen as a representative of of the Jefferson people inside Cascadia. Moxicodone was able to become the Cascadian Secretary of the Interior with this new reputation and began renovating the old Jefferson capitol, Fresno. Moxie then spent the rest of 2024 building up Sainte Marie. In December 2024 Setrus who was secretary of the Interior approached Moxicodone. He offered to pay Moxie to design Olympia since Fiery matter had been tasked with the project and made little progress. Moxie with the help of Setrus began planning on entirely redo Olympia as a professional well built city. Fiery was unwilling to give up his project so easily which lead to months of conflict. Fiery was still not making progress. Since Moxie was friends with Sayer they started construction despite Fiery's warnings but since Sayer was mayor there was nothing he could do. Farosh seeing how Moxie was able to organize the reconstruction of Olympia made Moxicodone Sec of the Interior Again. Project Olympia went amazing for Moxicodone. They now led the DOI with 10s of workers and an entire new city constructed. Moxicodone then moved to Victoria and started to rebuild that city while also starting up Project Vancouver with the DOI. Although not as successful Vancouver was rebuilt along with Victoria. By Mid 2025 a few members of the DOI urged Moxicodone to run for president despite not Moxicodone not really wanted to be president. Regardless Moxicodone ran a populist platform against the OFN political establishment and a restoration of Cascadia before it had become so "larpy". Moxicodone was able to defeat GWAL by just a singular vote. The OFN Political establishment along with others non sympathetic to Moxicodone's cause organized a strong opposition to Moxicodone's Presidency. In the end Moxicodone was only really able to to rennovation the nation shop with setrus as president. Moxicodone then resigned back to Victoria and working on it before loosing interest in emc and 42ing in late 2025

Setrus and Sayer had planned on making a Midwestern Nation, since setrus trusted Moxie and needed people to make towns for their nation once Nostra started he bought Moxie premium. Moxicodone initially wanted make New Orleans but was convinced by Sayer to Make Saint Louis. Despite this Moxicodone's friend Yapan wanted to make an east coast city. As a compromise they decided to create Pittsburgh. Moxicodone now just slowly builds up Pittsburgh helping America here and there.

}}The Battle of Oceanside was a battle fought between the [[Cascadia|Republic of Cascadia]] and RMF-aligned forces including [[Aurora:The Kingdom of Texas|Texas]] and the [[Rocky Mountain Federation]] on July 3-4, 2023, in the ruined town of Oceanside (now Astoria). It is considered to have been the largest conventional battle of the both the Second RMF War and the RMF Wars as a whole. Although the battle is sometimes considered to have ended in a stalemate, it is treated as a historic victory amongst many Cascadians.

== Background ==
In March 2023, residents of Cascadia's Great North region seceded from Cascadia to form the Rocky Mountain Federation (or RMF). The movement was led by PvPer [[8set]], and cited their reasons for secession as being boredom with Cascadian politics, a lack of representation for their interests, and disagreements over Cascadia's CascAID program, which required mayors who took welfare from the system to repay it should they ever leave the nation. On March 5, 2023, the town of Banff seceded and refused to pay its CascAID debts, beginning the First RMF War. The movement initially saw some success, with many towns in the Great North seceding to join the RMF's cause. However, the RMF faced early difficulties due to Cascadian hunters and a widespread trade embargo led by Cascadia. The RMF would also attempt to lead an embargo against Cascadia, though they were ultimately not as successful. On March 16, 2023, Cascadia and the RMF signed the Treaty of Banff, ending the First RMF War. In the treaty, the Cascadia agreed to recognize the RMF as a sovereign enclave within Cascadia's territory, and forgive the RMF's CascAID debts, while the RMF became a vassal of [[Portugal (Aurora)|Portugal]] in order to be watched over.

This period of peace came to an end on April 6, 2023, when a Cascadian town named "Prince_George" was founded in what was considered RMF territory. This, alongside continued hostilities from Cascadia towards the RMF after the Treaty of Banff, caused the RMF to declare war on April 8, beginning the Second RMF War. From the beginning of the war, the RMF saw gradual success from small PvP engagements and increased international support, including from nations such as Texas, [[Aurora:Indochina|Indochina]], and Paraguay. The RMF declares its complete independence from Portugal on May 24, 2023. On May 30, the RMF successfully captured the town of Port Orchard (now Bakhmut), after Mayor [[Moxie|Moxiecodone]] deleted it in order for adjacent towns, including [[Seattle (Aurora)|Seattle]] and [[Olympia]], to claim the area. The RMF, which had a greater number of experienced PvPers than Cascadia, repeatedly came out victorious in PvP engagements in both the Port Orchard area and through RMF territory in the Great North through the month of June. By the time of the Battle of Oceanside, the RMF had received support, usually in the form of gold or PvPers, from Texas, Indochina, Persia, Paraguay, the [[Aurora:Antarctic Union|Antarctic Union]], the Oriental Force, and Tripolitania.

By July 2023, Moxie, had become mayor of the historic town of Oceanside, which had originally been founded by [[Milgorn123]]. In the months leading up to July 2023, Moxie had once repeatedly ran into trouble with Milgorn and with the law. On May 14, 2023, Moxie was found guilty in Akeboun V. Moxies_Hoe, with Moxie being found in violation of the Anti-Discrimination Law that she had originally proposed, after telling Akeboun to "kill yourself" as Akeboun was a member of the Frontier. Throughout June, Moxie also felt that Milgorn had made an effort to prevent her from getting the town of Yakima. Due to these reasons, by July 2023, Moxie believed that the courts, government, and most powerful people in Cascadia were against her, and decided to end her involvement in Cascadia. Near midnight on the night of July 3, Moxie deleted Oceanside, informing Cascadian officials, notably [[Setrus]], that she was deleting the town and moving to Jefferson. Alongside Setrus, she also gave a more subtle notice to 8set, who was still the RMF's primary leader.

== Engagement ==
By 11:18 PM on July 3, Cascadian General [[EstiQT]] had created a group chat for coordinating Cascadia's efforts to reclaim Oceanside before the RMF could, designating the plan as Operation LNFALL. Also involved in the coordination of Cascadia's efforts during the battle were President [[WrestlingWithGod]], Secretary of Interior [[EmpressCorgo]], Secretary of State Milgorn123, Secretary of Defense RealLIMPOPO, Representative 4llies, Voidus_X, Vosmyj, and Setrus. BearHugBuddha and [[TylenolEC]] also participated in the battle. The initial Cascadian plan was to focus on claiming the northern area of Oceanside, which bordered the capital city of Olympia. The plan was to form a new town in the area, named "Seaside", and claim south and east, eventually blocking off the RMF's claiming from the north and east. Although at the time of the battle it was possible to go in and out of claims to avoid being killed during PvP, Esti originally proposed a claiming strategy that avoided PvP entirely, by going underneath the city and claiming from there. While Esti would use this tactic through the course of the battle, the majority of Cascadians would remain on the surface, usually using invisibility potions. Going into the battle, Cascadian commanders did not have high hopes, as from the start of the battle the RMF had 8 people online and 1.5k gold prepared. Milgorn would point out, "The goal is not to win. It's to push them back," setting up the Cascadian goal for the battle to be preventing a major loss rather than achieving a major victory.

Sometime shortly after 1:12 AM, July 4, the old town of Oceanside officially fell, and both sides began claiming the ruins. Cascadia began claiming from the north, while the RMF began claiming from a prepared siege town, named "Walla Walla", just off the northwest coast of Oceanside. During this stage of the battle, Covenhal, who had been described as "two-faced" by Cascadians during the RMF Wars, would distract North_Paso while WrestlingWithGod and BearHugBuddha claimed chunks. Some Cascadians have described this event as "The redemption of Covenhal". However, the RMF had more gold and players online at the beginning of the battle, allowing them to quickly claim north and block the Seaside push from reaching the sea and pushing south. By 1:15 AM, the town of Seaside had been completely cut off to its west. Meanwhile, in the southern part of Oceanside, shortly before 1:26 AM, Cascadia had formed a second town, named "Newport" in the southern part of Oceanside to stop the RMF from pushing south. The RMF responded by trying to push south before Cascadia could cut them off, while also creating a second town at the furthest southern point of Oceanside, named "Wailla Walla". However, by this time, Cascadia had raised more manpower and gold than the RMF had on-hand, and was able to move more quickly. By this point the race to claim the southern half of the former town had also become a PvP engagement, with Cascadian forces generally using harming pots and claim protections to counter the RMF's more experienced PvPers. It was also around this time that help from the RMF's ally of Texas, primarily for the Texan King North_Paso, arrived in Oceanside.

By 1:35 AM, both sides were fully focuses on claiming the south. Ultimately, thanks to the influx of support coming online to bring in gold and manpower, Cascadian forces managed to outflank the RMF, surrounding the town of Wailla Walla and cutting off the RMF push from the north. By 1:44 AM, Cascadian command had begun planning for offensives elsewhere, including in present-day Sullivan Bay and Haida, which were vulnerable to whatever the RMF's may have been. With the fallen area of Ocanside claimed, the focus on both sides became planning next moves and deciding the fate of their respective parts of the former town. Cascadia would begin planning future claiming of vulnerable areas and the rebuilding of infrastructure connecting to Oceanside, while the RMF began tearing down much of Oceanside's historic district, including, at 2:11 AM, burning down a large pride flag in northern Oceanside. Around 1:37 AM, Esti submitted an EMC support ticket reporting Wailla Walla for claimblocking. The report that was accepted by the mod team later that day, leading to Wailla Walla's deletion, and Cascadian control of the entire southern area of Oceanside, around 4:59 AM. A number of RMF players were also warned for proximity grief for their actions during the battle, including _sadpoo, North_Paso, DraftBust, and KillerVortexian. KillerVortexian would be banned for a time due to this being his third warn. These warnings/bans around the same time as Wailla Walla's deletion for claimblocking are considered the end of the battle.

== Aftermath ==
In the aftermath of the Battle of Oceanside, Oceanside was split in two. The RMF predominately held control of the northern part of the town (with the exception of Seaside), while Cascadia held control of the southern part of the town. Both sides of the split town were left in ruins from its former self, especially on the RMF side, where many historic buildings, and the large pride flag, were burned to the ground. Walla Walla would later be captured and returned to Cascadia in late August 2023, after it was bought by [[KARN4]]. Following the capture of northern Oceanside, the entire area (with the exception of Seaside) would come under the control of the Cascadian town of Copper. Under Copper, the area was rolled back to its original world generation on 3 separate occasions, completely erasing what was left of the original Oceanside. Copper would control the area from September 2023 until Setrus purchased the town and created present-day Astoria on June 8, 2024. Astoria has since become one of the largest and most developed towns in Cascadia, and is home to a local memorial remembering the sacrifices of the battle. Ironically, the memorial is located near the heart of what was once RMF-controlled Walla Walla.

The town of Seaside would continue to be owned by Cascadian holders until it finally fell on Christmas Day, December 25, 2023, and was claimed by Wagner forces before Cascadia could find a new mayor to claim the area. The former Seaside would remain under Wagner and later Texas control until it fell on June 23, 2024. The territory was then incorporated into Astoria, reuniting the former territory of Oceanside. Astoria still controls the area today, and it is home to a number of small shops, the headquarters of The Astorian newspaper, and the Astoria Police Department.

Moxie would later regret her deletion of Oceanside, saying "I didn't realize how much they ruined it." After the deletion of Oceanside, she created the nation of Utah in Salt Lake City, which was best known for being mostly trans-women. Utah would join the Sequoia meganation, which was dominated by Rocksthunder's Jefferson. Moxie would remain there for several months, until eventually moving to Jefferson proper to help create the Passage Bay metro just north of [[San Francisco]]. Alongside most of Jefferson, she rejoined Cascadia as a Jeffcadian in November 2023. She has since acted as Secretary of Interior on 3 different occasions, under Presidents Setrus, [[Paper1emur]], [[Farosh_]], Capitanfra, and 4Floppas. From April 20 to May 18, 2024, she served as the 21st [[President of Cascadia]]. This transition from much-hated terrorist and even traitor to mainstream politician and president has been described by political scientists as [[Moxification]].

Views on the Battle of Oceanside amongst Cascadians vary. WrestlingWithGod, who was President at the time of the battle, referred to its significance in its "uniting Cascadia again against the many invading foes." When asked about the legacy of the battle on Cascadia, Milgorn referred to how it "United Cascadians against the RMF, created visible scars from the war which mobilized Cascadians, and provided leverage for future RMF negotiations."

Moxie 1st joined the town of Brussels but after the mayor was banned they moved to Olympia and helped build much of the original city. They helped with the construction of Victoria and worked with multiple other mayors in the construction of a regional icerail system in the Chaeronea and Olympia metropolitan areas. They spent late 2022 and early 2023 constructing various cities across Cascadia. After befriending Yapannn they grew disillusioned with the Cascadian government. So in June 2023 as the Mayor Oceanside they decided to delete the City and found a Socialist direct democracy with Yapannn called Basin. Basin did not last long as Moxie and Yapannn moved back to Passage Bay where they would spend the next year building up the city. Moxie now the Mayor of Arcadia Bay and de-facto Victoria as a whole.

The three branches of the Cascadian national government are planned to be centered within the city: The house of representatives (legislative), the governor (executive), and the state court (judicial). However, due to the buildings being planned, the national government temporarily operates out of Government House, a mansion in Downtown Neah Bay, Cascadia. The town is headed by the mayor of Olympia and the monthly elected City Council's appointed City Manager. The Mayor is currently Cascadian governor and U.S. Vice President [[SayerQT]].

== Early days ==
The city was founded by former Seattle Mayor SayerQT on May 21, 2022, due to Seattle becoming a mess and inactive. SayerQT founded the nation of Cascadia, with the capital in Olympia in July, and entered a rapid period of expansion, growth, and increasing prosperity that continues to this day.

== Decline and Revival ==
Soon after the rapid expansion the town lacked active builders leading to little progress until the player Moxies_hoe joined the town. The town started construction of the downtown, by October 17 2022 the town had built a downtown and the Brick house(presidential palace). The town continued expansion, but at a slowed rate. By November the town had built The National tower and Union station.

== Port Orchard ==

It is located at the southern tip of the Puget Sound and covers most of the southern region of the Olympic Peninsula, and shares a municipal land border with the slightly more populated Cascadian city of Neah Bay to the north. It contains several shops at the /n spawn, however a larger shopping center and Capital complex is being planned to be built.

The three branches of the Cascadian national government are planned to be centered within the city: The house of representatives (legislative), the governor (executive), and the state court (judicial). However, due to the buildings being planned, the national government temporarily operates out of Government House, a mansion in Downtown Neah Bay, Cascadia. The town is headed by the mayor of Olympia and the monthly elected City Council's appointed City Manager. The Mayor is currently Cascadian governor and U.S. Vice President [[SayerQT]].

The city was founded by former Seattle Mayor SayerQT on May 21, 2022, due to Seattle becoming a mess and inactive. SayerQT founded the nation of Cascadia, with the capital in Olympia in July, and entered a rapid period of expansion, growth, and increasing prosperity that continues to this day.

== Decline and Revival ==
Soon after the rapid expansion the town lacked active builders leading to little progress until the player Moxies_hoe joined the town. The town started construction of the downtown, by September 17 2022 the town had built a downtown and the Brick house(presidential palace). The town continued expansion, but at a slowed rate. By November the town had built The National tower and Union station.

== Port Orchard ==
The town of Port Orchard was founded (founded Nov 9th 20222) by some of the active players in Olympia. The town expanded quickly but ran out of space... The mayor and city council decided to merge with Olympia on Nov 19th.<gallery mode="slideshow">
