===Nova===
Ravocy first joined Nova in February 2021 and joined a town in Rus. Sometime later, he formed his first town called "El Obeid" along with his friends. After 1 to 2 months, he formed another town called "I.Tealand." However, due to not knowing some of the rules of the server, the town got reported, and Ravocy formed a new town called "II.Tealand." However, he stopped playing EarthMC for a few months but then rejoined the server and formed another town called "IV.Tealand" and later formed "V.Tealand" to claim territory quickly with his friend. After around 3 months, Terra Aurora started.
===Aurora===
Sometime after the opening of Terra Aurora, Ravocy joined the server. He initially joined the town called "Northern_Cyprus" since it was formed by one of his friends. After the fall of the town located in the Van region, Ravocy formed his own town there and became an MP a few weeks later. He sold Van for 450g when it had 144 chunks and bought Aleppo. After reaching 232 chunks, he became the leader of Iowa. He got banned for 7 days in the last days of the [[Kushan-Turkish War]]. After serving the 7-day ban, he sold Iowa, went to Ankara, and then formed a town called Zenica (now Banja Luka) in the Balkans, eventually selling that town as well. Subsequently, he bought Erzincan for 600g and formed another town called Konya. After giving Konya to one of his friends, he returned to Erzincan. He contested in the [[December 2023 Turkish presidential election|December 2023 elections]] and won the presidency.

On January 25, 2024, due to intense pressure and Venice's failure to resist the Turkish invasion, he resigned from his position as President and sought refuge in the Most Serene Republic of Genoa. He made an agreement with Erwinnn and purchased the town of Calabria for 8000 Gold (the gold was entirely provided by the Genoese government), becoming its mayor. Later, Ravocy transferred Calabria to Gat_moment, left Genoa, and became the Maharaja (King) of the Nation of India. Approximately 1.5 months later, Ravocy completely transferred the Nation to felixxy1 and purchased the town of Crimea for 2800 Gold. There, together with his friend Ikerimyildiz, they attempted to expand Crimea into a massive peninsula town. Initially joined to Türkiye, Crimea later joined the Russian Empire due to disagreements. The Tsar of that era, Goulash, was pleased to see Crimea in his nation and gifted Ravocy a "Crimean head.". After about two months, Ravocy sold Crimea for 3,600 gold and returned to the Balkans. He first stayed in Bosnia, then changed his name to Croatia, before going to Mali, where he created a town and became a Malian citizen. After deleting his town there, Ravocy sniped the Gabon nation, became its king, and then handed the nation over to a friend. He then bought a town in the Caucasus and went offline for a month. After a month, Ravocy sold the town he had bought and went to Papua, where he created a town called Netherlands.

On a fateful morning before the opening of Terra Aurora; users [[Aurora:Rollins|Rollins]], Ju2nananas and Alzxdnr came together to form a nation on the new server. Since Rollins was Greek in real life, he inspired the idea to form Greece and brought Ju2nananas and Alzxdnr in to help establish the nation. They gathered their friends to join their pursuit of an empire, fending off the other groups who had shown interest in forming their own government in the Greek region. The three leaders worked hard with their citizens to form Greece as soon as the server opened, and the nation of '''Greece''' was founded on May 5th, 2022. The nation capital was made in Delphi, the town which would become the current Athens. At its founding, Greece held three towns, each held by one of the founding leaders: Delphi, Athens (later deleted with Delphi taking its name) and Crete, with Crete being the oldest of the three towns.

===Development===
Over the coming months, Greece would develop to become one of the largest and most active nations in Aurora. On the 8th of May, one of Greece's founding leaders, Alzxdnr, was banned from the server for alleged homophobia. However, despite this setback, Greece continued expanding, with both the capital Delphi and Crete expanding at a rapid rate. Along with this, new towns were founded in Greece, most notably Naxos, led by OBILderHurtige and Thessaloniki led by greekenderman. On the 22nd of May, Greece surpassed the 1000 chunk milestone, becoming the 7th largest nation on Aurora at the time. Greece would continue expanding, with towns such as Sparta, and Alexandreia joining the nation.

===Conflicts===
Before establishing Greece, a player named MLGTerra created the town of Sparta with his own group, Seaterrica. One of Greece's founding members Alzxdnr had planned to establish Sparta themselves, which started the first of many conflicts between the two groups. Prior to the nations founding, Greece and Seaterrica settled their differences, outlining claim agreements that divided the land within Greece. Following Greece's founding, Seaterrica and its Greek towns were invited to the nation, with an agreement between the two groups made, where MLGTerra would become a defacto leader of Greece, who would oversee the Seaterrican towns in the nation and work in collaboration with Rollins and Ju2nananas

Over the coming months, tensions began to flare up again between the two parties. Seaterrica's organised expansion began to break the claim agreements established between the two parties. Along with this, internal conflicts began to arise within the nation, with a disorganised democratic structure leading to questions of which group should have authority over the Greek nation. Conflicts between the two groups were also flared by Greece's more radical members such as greekenderman and his associates. In July of 2022, Seaterrican members asserted that they believed they were the rightful leaders of Greece, and gave Greece's leaders an ultimatum: to give the nation to MLGTerra or else Seaterrica and its Greek towns would split from Greece, creating a separate nation. Greece's leadership refused this and so on July the 3rd, Byzantium was founded, with MLGTerra's Sparta being the capital. Greece lost a majority of its towns, with Athens, Crete, Naxos and Thessaloniki remaining in the nation. Over the following month, relations grew more hostile between Byzantium and Greece, with Byzantium residents hunting Greek players in the wilderness. On the 24th of July, Greece declared war on Byzantium.

One of the major factors of Seaterrica's departure from Greece was greekenderman, one of the nations town owners and a radical member of the Greece community. Greekenderman had himself developed his own small faction within the nation over this time, with two other town owners within the Greek nation. Initially, he and his two other friends stayed within the nation following Byzantium's formation. However, in August of 2022, he and his two mayors threatened a coup of Greece, with the same ultimatum that Byzantium made. The Greek government did not budge to his threatened coup, and cut all ties with greekenderman, denouncing him completely. Later in Aurora's history, greekenderman would be IP banned from Aurora for repeatedly breaking Rule 2.4 and 2.5.

Greece's conflict with Byzantium also affected relations with other nations, Turkey being the most prominent. Over 2023, Greece and Turkey have exhibited a strained relationship, with both nations planting towns in each others territory and sorting out constant disputes of land. One of the main factors to Turkey's strained relationship with Greece is Byzantium's attempt at creating an Eastern European Empire. After a few months of conflict with Greece, Byzantium sought to turn its attention towards taking land in Turkey too, planting around 6 towns in Turkish mainland, with Sardis being the largest, taking up a space of over 300 chunks. Turkey felt that Greece's mismanagement of the alliance with the Seaterrican party that led to Byzantium's formation was responsible for their loss of land, and thus sought to claim parts of Greece as a compensatory measure. Another reason for Turkey's strained relationship with Greece is the nationalism of its residents and mayors. Many members of the nation are also Turkish in real life, and due to the strained relationship of Turkey and Greece in real life, many Turkish players hold the desire to invade Greece's land. Currently, Greece and Turkey remain on neutral terms.

===The Golden Age===
By December 2022, Greece had retaliated largely in the Byzantium War, reclaiming a large amount of land from Byzantium and surpassing them in size. At this point in time, Greece had reclaimed the towns of Mykonos, Ioannina, Ionian Islands, parts of the Peloponnese around Sparta, as well as reclaiming Thessaloniki from greekenderman. Greece had amassed over 100 active residents, with Athens growing to a population of 50 residents. Greece had also claimed around 1600 chunks, and held 20 towns. Greece was one of the most active nations on Aurora for a period of a few months, with a poll on the Earth MC subreddit placing Greece as the most popular nation on the server at the time. On the 25th of December, Greece won the inaugural Christmas Spawn Building Competition for the best decorated Christmas spawn on the server, Aurora's first official server event. Around this time it was also widely acknowledged by the server that Greece had won the Byzantium war. By September 2023, Greece had reclaimed over 80% of the Greek mainland and islands since August 2022, when Greece had only 3 towns, and had now reached its heights in claims, with over 2000 town blocks.

Venice was established with an oligarchical governing system, where nobles from different familial houses made decisions for the nation. Each House could decide their members and their leader, who was generally an influential player from [[Terra Nova]] and part of the [[Nova:SPQR|Greater Roman Empire]]. There were originally five officially established houses: Casa di Eterno, Casa Varmi, Casa Florenti, Casa Fatih, and Casa di Milano. Casa di Eterno was lead by CorruptedGreed, including WTDpuddles and 32Benja. Casa Varmi was lead by S64_(citation needed), including Phillybob777, alsjad, Mining_Tzar.

Venice was founded on May 1st 2022 as the 2nd nation on the server. At the time of its founding, the first Doge was S64_, appointed by a collection of influential players.

It used an oligarchical governing system, where nobles from different familial houses make decisions for the nation. The nation made swift progress on some projects, such as the St. Marko Campanile, but activity dwindled quickly.

====The Time of Doge CorruptedGreed====
For the election of the 2nd Doge, Casa di Eterno put forward 350 gold for 4 Pregadi, with CorruptedGreed as candidate. Casa Varmi put forward 125 gold for 2 Pregadi, however did not select a candidate. Casa Florenti and Fatih put forward no gold and no candidate. As a result, on June 1st CorruptedGreed was elected the 2nd Doge of Venice, with unanimous vote from the Signoria to become mayor of Venice.

At the beginning of his reign, Doge CorruptedGreed had to overcome a feud between Houses about the auctioned shop monopolies. Casa di Eterno and Varmi had come into conflict over the future of the shop, which Varmi had won out in nearly 80% of all items. After discussion with the Procuratore mediating, and the impracticality of Varmi alone maintaining all its stock, it was decided to scrap the system and develop a new approach. Doge Greed established the Unified State Market System, approved by the Consiglio on June 3rd. After this, he passed a series of internal reforms in July focusing on the domestic economy and internal districts of the capital.

====The Domini da Mar====
A main contribution to foreign policy by Doge CorruptedGreed was amending Article 5 of the Venetian Constitution to introduce the Domini da Mar, a system for towns within the nation.

Under this system, Monza, Milan, Mataró, and Gibraltar were admitted as territories of Venice, with Rodos becoming a City-state.

====The Time of Doge Phillybob777====
For the election of the 3rd Doge, Casa Varmi put forward 125 gold for 2 Pregadi, with Phillybob777 as candidate. Casa di Eterno followed suit with 2 Pregadi, however did not select a candidate. Casa Florenti put forward no gold and no candidate. As a result, on August 3rd Phillybob777 was elected the 3rd Doge of Venice, with unanimous vote from the Signoria to become mayor of Venice.

With his election, Doge Philly pursued billing the Varmi and di Eterno Houses for their districts within the capital. Following this, his main ambitions were to get the capital city to max claims, finish the Piazza complex, host House games, and develop farms for shop items. While making substantial progress in acquiring materials, there was little actual progress on building due to failure in finding in-game manpower. This would be a common theme across his time as Doge, given policy can only go so far without action. His main contribution to foreign policy was an attempt to form a defensive alliance to protect the Italian peninsula from outside influence, named the League of Italy, which was approved by the Consiglio on August 18th. It originally consisted of Genoa and Apulia, until Apulia was sold and became a vassal of Austria. The Papal States were introduced in their absence, however Genoa inevitably abandoned the alliance due to opportunism that was sprouted by Doge Philly's inactivity.

On September 16th, the election of the 4th Doge was forecasted in 2 weeks by Doge Philly. In this time, Venice iced over its canals and hosted a F1 race across the capital. As October 1st arrived, Doge Philly announced he would continue his term as Doge until December given there were no candidates. At this point in time, Venice as a nation went nose-dived into a period of inactivity. The incoming weeks were barren from any progress on the capital or nation. There was not much activity in-game, only on Discord for game nights unrelated to the server such as EU4.

====Succession Crisis====
The period of decay following the reappointment of the Doge persisted throughout October and November. On November 29th, Doge Philly announced that the election was in 2 days and he had effectively quit the server, so someone else needed to run for Doge.

In the event of there being no Doge, the Constitution dictated that the Procuratore was designated as the city's mayor. However, Procuratore slopePope was nowhere to be seen for the last few weeks. Rather than risk giving him the city, it was decided by Doge Philly to appoint CorruptedGreed as the interim Doge. With nobody to oppose or approve this decision, CorruptedGreed became the final traditional Doge of Venice. The loss of motivation from the general populace and Patrician leadership ultimately sent the nation into catatonic state.

====Collapse of the Houses====
Due to the former departure of Casa di Milano and Fatih, along with the subsequent de-facto dissolution of Casa Florenti, Venetian politics were left vacated. The remaining competition between Casa di Eterno and Varmi fizzled out, which culminated in the death of the Houses.

The Republic of Genoa, founded by Erwinnn and 32Andrew on July 27th, on the small island of Corsica, stands as the largest and most influential nation within the Italian peninsula. Renowned for its expansive territories, vast wealth, captivating architectural wonders, and strategic maritime dominance, Genoa has established itself as a prominent force within the server.

==== Prefounding ====

The town of Ajaccio was first created by the player adcto on May 2th 2022. It would slowly expand over the following months until the entire island of Corsica was claimed alongside an outpost on the Ligurian coast.
The city fluctuated between multiple nations but was mostly part of [[Italy]].
 
Erwinnn, who had recently sold the nation of [[Livonia]] arrived in Italy and bought the town on July 27th for 4.2k gold and renamed it to Genova.
This move was followed by the players [[32Andrew]], [[aTerraAustralis]], [[KristauxSoft]], [[Shark3333]] and riri2010.
 
Upon his acquisition of Genova, Erwinnn proceeded to join the nation of Germany in order to use the nation bonus to further expand in the Ligurian coast.
A major building project was also started which involved terraforming the entire island of Corsica, it saw the creation of a palace which served as both a shopping center and the capital building.

==== First Tuscan Conquest ====

In July, most of the north of Tuscany was still made up of wilderness with the south being owned by the town of Florence, capital of the first "Italy" nation.
This area was opened up to Genova when the neighboring town of La_Spezia fell.
 
On July 31st, despite attempts from the nation of Italy to block this, Genova claimed more than 150 chunks in the north of Tuscany while also acquiring the island of Elba.
The town continued to expand in the following days until the area was split between Genova and Florence.

The expansion of Genova into Tuscany was met by fierce resistance from the Italian government who wished to capitalize on the area.
Diplomatic exchanges between Erwinnn and the Italian second in command, [[Chunk_of_Cheese]], went nowhere.
 
Thus began a one month long dispute where tensions would remain high between the two states.

==== Formation of the Nation ====

On August 8th, the nation H.R.E was sold to Genova for the price of 1.5k gold by the player Meyincci, mayor of the town Erfurt.
The name would quickly be changed to Genoa, which marked the start of the nation's history.

==== First Towns and Conflicts ====

Genoa began expanding in North Africa and South Italy in August with the creation of the town of Tabarca by [[aTerraAustralis]] on the 10th and the town of Napoli created by KristauxSoft on the 16th.
The town of Avignon situated in Southern France and led by [[0yule]] also joined Genoa on August 10th.
 
The Genoese arrival in South Italy was however contested by the nation of Apulia which owned the majority of the area at the time and was led by the player [[Parfi]].
Actions where taken by the Apulian state to contain the expansion of Napoli, ultimately surrounding the 88 chunks town entirely on October 1st.

==== The End of Italy ====

On September 13th, the nation of Italy alongside the capital of Florence was sold to Genoa by Argues. The new mayor of Florence was the player [[Omereise]] while the nation of Italy was put for sale.
 
Apulia (which had been renamed to Naples in the meanwhile), proceeded to buy the nation and promptly renamed itself to Italy.

==== Vassals ====

Under the impulsion of 32Andrew, Genoa would acquire the nation of Illyria which would be integrated as a province with the capital of Tirana on the 2nd of October. However, only 6 days later, on the 8th of October, Illyria would be traded for the nation of Emirates with the capital of Dubaii which would then join Genoa as a vassal.
 
This would end up being short-lived as Emirates would be sold on the 16th of October, ending Genoese control in the area.

==== First Italian Expansion ====

The Genoese state would start a month long expansion which began on the 15th of October when the town of Sardinia led by [[Qorrin]] joined the nation. This had been planned for many weeks and was a result of Sardinia successfully claiming the entire island.
 
Then, the towns of Lecce and Bari were both bought on the 21st of October from a collapsing Italy (previously Apulia). These additions would lead the Consigliere 32Andrew to announce the start of the [[unification of Italy under Genoa]] in an historic announcement.

==== The Collapse of Apulia ====

Apulia (which renamed to Naples and then Italy) had been in a state of war with Genoa ever since the creation of Napoli. This conflict would last from early August to late October where it would come to an end over a few weeks.
This would first manifest by the ownership of Apulia being transferred from [[Manoia]] to [[Parfi]] on August 29th.
 
Then with Parfi leaving Apulia on October 15th, leaving it without a leader, proposals of merging the two nations arose, pushed especially by the Prime Minister of the state : [[PawluC]], however these went nowhere and were abandoned due to a lack of interest from Genoa. 
Finally, on the 21st of October, with the sale of Lecce and Bari, the Apulian nation would be officially disbanded, ending the war with Genoa.

==== Ligurian integration ====

Located in the real life location of the city, the Irish town of Genoa would fall on the 6th of December, being swiftly reclaimed by the Genoese state with a new town called Liguria under the leadership of PawluC (Who had joined Genoa after the collapse of Apulia).
 
The capital would also take this opportunity to rename itself to Genoa (being previously called Genova).

==== The Italian League ====

The Italian League was an alliance that Genoa participated in alongside the Papal States, Croatia and Monaco. It was created in early December and aimed at creating stronger cooperation between these nations while working together to counter outside influence.
 
However, rivalries within the league quickly undermined those objectives and soon enough it entered a decline that would last until it was unofficially disbanded in early February.

==== Banning of Omereise ====

On the 25th of December, mayor of Florence [[Omereise]] was banned for doxxing, this would spark a major controversy over the legitimacy of the ban but ultimately, Omereise would remain permanently banned.
 
As a result of this, Genoa immediately began to prepare for the eventual fall of Florence which couldn't be avoided. It was first proposed than a new town be created but in the end, it was decided that the capital city would annex the area entirely.

==== Second Italian Expansion ====

Genoa which was now free from the rivalry with Apulia could focus on expansion. This was first done with the purchase for 270g of the town Vieste which had been a Bosnian possession in South-East Italy on the 8th of January 2023.
 
Additionally, the Swiss town of Sicilia which controlled about a third of Sicily alongside the tip of the Italian boot, fell on the 15th of January. It was partitioned with Genoa acquiring the half on the island of Sicily and Calabria, a Bosnian town, getting the mainland area.
 
Centralisation was also done with the annexation of smaller Genoese towns into their larger neighbours with the example of Liguria being annexed into the town of Genoa and Vieste being annexed into Napoli on the 31st of January.

==== Desertion of Tallo Capitis ====

[[Aurora:Monza|Tallo_Capitis]], a Venetian town led by [[Tallo_01]] became part of Genoa on the 5th of February after the mayor offered to sell the town for the price of 450g. This was a result of Venetian inactivity which led the mayor to seek a new nation.
 
The mayor then proceeded to join Genoa itself and ended up becoming a prominent member, today being a senator and mayor of Naples.

==== Plans for Reclaiming Florence ====

With Omereise staying banned, Genoa prepared to reclaim Florence which was set to fall on the 8th of February.
 
This was done by recruiting massively for the capital as well as gathering enough gold to fully acquire the area. Additionally, the idea of flooding Florence in lava was proposed since multiple Genoese members were still trusted in the town.
 
However, another plan ended up being acted out, 3 ice roads were installed below Florence that would serve as a way to easily reclaim most of the town when it did fall. These were built by KristauxSoft and are still present underneath the city today.

==== Days of Glory ====

While preparations for the reclaiming of Florence were being planned, the remaining Sicilian town called Syracusae unexpectedly fell on the 6th of February.
This meant that Genoa now had to prepare for the fall of two major towns, all within 2 days.
 
However, despite the difficulties and various other contenders for the land, both operations were a complete success :
 
Florence fell on the 8th of February and was fully reclaimed by Genoa in a few minutes (with the exception of 4 chunks that were granted to the [[Papal States]]).
 
Syracusae fell on the 9th of February and was nearly fully reclaimed apart from 26 chunks which were claimed by the Venetian town of Syracusae and 18 chunks which were claimed by Austro-Hungarian town of Palerno.
 
In total, Genoa successfully claimed 653 chunks while severely limiting any attempts from other nations, these two days were decisive in establishing Genoese hegemony over the Italian peninsula.

==== Tensions with Spain ====

Disputes between Genoa and Spain first begun when a claim map was released showing the entirety of Algeria and Tunisia as Spanish territory despite the fact that the Genoese towns of Tabarca and Mahadia already revealed a solid presence in the area.
 
Then, the Spanish town of Gibraltar led by the player Dolunay defected to Genoa on the 23rd of February, this came after the mayor faced alleged racism within Spain.
 
This move was supported by the Doge Erwinnn and eventually led to Spanish leader, Huxf, sending a 24 hours ultimatum to Genoa which stated that if Gibraltar was not kicked from the nation, a war would be declared.
However, Spain failed to act on the ultimatum and Gibraltar would go on to stay in Genoa for multiple months.

==== North African Expansion ====

Over the course of several months, Genoa went from having only a very limited presence in North Africa to becoming one of the dominant power in the area.
 
This was done mainly with the purchase of the towns of Jijel and Annaba for the price of 2.5k on the 30th of April which cemented the nation's presence in Eastern Algeria.
 
Additionally, the creation on June 17th and later expansion of the town of Histria led by Bearlilegal resulted in Genoa securing most of Tunisia with the exception of [[Carthage]] which remained a one town nation at this time.

==== Creation of Noble Houses ====

On the 9th of June, the idea of adding noble houses to Genoa was officially adopted and they would gradually be adopted over the coming months.
 
A noble house is a group of nobles who share the same values united under a patrician who acts as the leader of the noble house.
 
The founding houses were : [[Doria]] (led by [[Erwinnn]]), Fieschi (led by [[aTerraAustralis]]), Buonaparte (led by [[KristauxSoft]]), Gattilusio (led by [[SNova32]]) and Ferrari which later became Spinola (led by [[FatihAr]] then [[Sepl3333]]).

==== South Italian Unification ====

South Italy had stayed divided ever since the fall of [[Apulia]] with the southern part being mostly owned by Genoa (with the exception of Calabria) and the north being owned by Croatia.
 
However, prolonged Croatian inactivity led to Genoa being able to acquire the towns in the area with first the purchase of Napule on the 7th of August for the price of 2.3k and then the purchase of Naples-Salerno on the 23rd of September for 2k.
 
This meant that in a matter of 2 months, the Croatian presence on the peninsula had been reduced to only the part owned directly by the Croatian capital, Zadar, while Genoa now owned most of South Italy making it the largest Italian nation.
 
Finally, in late September, Calabria would join Genoa (though being unofficially part of SPQR until being formerly purchased on the 27th of January 2024 for 8.5k), completing the unification of South Italy which sparked celebrations within the nation.

==== New Doge & Corsican Renovation ====

On September 9th 2023, 32Andrew became the first elected Doge of Genoa, this was part of an overall change that saw the nation use a more developped and democratic system.
 
To celebrate the election of the new Doge, an inauguration ceremony was organised on the island of Corsica.
 
The island, which had previously housed a massive palace was completely reorganized. The palace was replaced by a renaissance themed city with a castle, a canal, houses and much more.

==== Preparations for Overclaim ====

With the addition of overclaim having been announced for the new year, Genoa began to prepare for it. The main worry lied in the town of Sicily wich required a huge amount of recruiting while not having an active mayor to do so.
 
This came in the form of recruitment contests, reorganisation of some towns mayors and diplomatic treaties.
However, this was overall a period of low activity within the nation compared to earlier months which severly limited the amount of work that was put into being ready for overclaim.

==== Reorganisation of South Italy ====

Genoese towns in South Italy had remained mostly territorially unchanged since their acquisition by the nation. In october, senator aTerraAustralis proposed a new division of these towns with the objectives of lightening the burden of overclaim in the area.
 
This project went throught multiple versions and was introduced between November and December, significantly cleaning up the borders of these towns and they have stayed the same up to this day.

Renowned for its expansive territories, vast wealth, captivating architectural wonders, and strategic maritime dominance, Genoa has established itself as a prominent force within the server.

==== Prefounding ====

The town of Ajaccio was first created by the player adcto on May 2th 2022. It would slowly expand over the following months until the entire island of Corsica was claimed alongside an outpost on the Ligurian coast.
The city fluctuated between multiple nations but was mostly part of [[Italy]].
 
Erwinnn, who had recently sold the nation of [[Livonia]] arrived in Italy and bought the town on July 27th for 4.2k gold and renamed it to Genova.
This move was followed by the players [[32Andrew]], [[aTerraAustralis]], [[KristauxSoft]], [[Shark3333]] and riri2010.
 
Upon his acquisition of Genova, Erwinnn proceeded to join the nation of Germany in order to use the nation bonus to further expand in the Ligurian coast.
A major building project was also started which involved terraforming the entire island of Corsica, it saw the creation of a palace which served as both a shopping center and the capital building.

==== First Tuscan Conquest ====

In July, most of the north of Tuscany was still made up of wilderness with the south being owned by the town of Florence, capital of the first "Italy" nation.
This area was opened up to Genova when the neighboring town of La_Spezia fell.
 
On July 31st, despite attempts from the nation of Italy to block this, Genova claimed more than 150 chunks in the north of Tuscany while also acquiring the island of Elba.
The town continued to expand in the following days until the area was split between Genova and Florence.

The expansion of Genova into Tuscany was met by fierce resistance from the Italian government who wished to capitalize on the area.
Diplomatic exchanges between Erwinnn and the Italian second in command, [[Chunk_of_Cheese]], went nowhere.
 
Thus began a one month long dispute where tensions would remain high between the two states.

==== Formation of the Nation ====

On August 8th, the nation H.R.E was sold to Genova for the price of 1.5k gold by the player Meyincci, mayor of the town Erfurt.
The name would quickly be changed to Genoa, which marked the start of the nation's history.

==== First Towns and Conflicts ====

Genoa began expanding in North Africa and South Italy in August with the creation of the town of Tabarca by [[aTerraAustralis]] on the 10th and the town of Napoli created by KristauxSoft on the 16th.
The town of Avignon situated in Southern France and led by [[0yule]] also joined Genoa on August 10th.
 
The Genoese arrival in South Italy was however contested by the nation of Apulia which owned the majority of the area at the time and was led by the player [[Parfi]].
Actions where taken by the Apulian state to contain the expansion of Napoli, ultimately surrounding the 88 chunks town entirely on October 1st.

==== The End of Italy ====

On September 13th, the nation of Italy alongside the capital of Florence was sold to Genoa by Argues. The new mayor of Florence was the player [[Omereise]] while the nation of Italy was put for sale.
 
Apulia (which had been renamed to Naples in the meanwhile), proceeded to buy the nation and promptly renamed itself to Italy.

==== Vassals ====

Under the impulsion of 32Andrew, Genoa would acquire the nation of Illyria which would be integrated as a province with the capital of Tirana on the 2nd of October. However, only 6 days later, on the 8th of October, Illyria would be traded for the nation of Emirates with the capital of Dubaii which would then join Genoa as a vassal.
 
This would end up being short-lived as Emirates would be sold on the 16th of October, ending Genoese control in the area.

==== First Italian Expansion ====

The Genoese state would start a month long expansion which began on the 15th of October when the town of Sardinia led by [[Qorrin]] joined the nation. This had been planned for many weeks and was a result of Sardinia successfully claiming the entire island.
 
Then, the towns of Lecce and Bari were both bought on the 21st of October from a collapsing Italy (previously Apulia). These additions would lead the Consigliere 32Andrew to announce the start of the [[unification of Italy under Genoa]] in an historic announcement.

==== The Collapse of Apulia ====

Apulia (which renamed to Naples and then Italy) had been in a state of war with Genoa ever since the creation of Napoli. This conflict would last from early August to late October where it would come to an end over a few weeks.
This would first manifest by the ownership of Apulia being transferred from [[Manoia]] to [[Parfi]] on August 29th.
 
Then with Parfi leaving Apulia on October 15th, leaving it without a leader, proposals of merging the two nations arose, pushed especially by the Prime Minister of the state : [[PawluC]], however these went nowhere and were abandoned due to a lack of interest from Genoa. 
Finally, on the 21st of October, with the sale of Lecce and Bari, the Apulian nation would be officially disbanded, ending the war with Genoa.

==== Ligurian integration ====

Located in the real life location of the city, the Irish town of Genoa would fall on the 6th of December, being swiftly reclaimed by the Genoese state with a new town called Liguria under the leadership of PawluC (Who had joined Genoa after the collapse of Apulia).
 
The capital would also take this opportunity to rename itself to Genoa (being previously called Genova).

==== The Italian League ====

The Italian League was an alliance that Genoa participated in alongside the Papal States, Croatia and Monaco. It was created in early December and aimed at creating stronger cooperation between these nations while working together to counter outside influence.
 
However, rivalries within the league quickly undermined those objectives and soon enough it entered a decline that would last until it was unofficially disbanded in early February.

==== Banning of Omereise ====

On the 25th of December, mayor of Florence [[Omereise]] was banned for doxxing, this would spark a major controversy over the legitimacy of the ban but ultimately, Omereise would remain permanently banned.
 
As a result of this, Genoa immediately began to prepare for the eventual fall of Florence which couldn't be avoided. It was first proposed than a new town be created but in the end, it was decided that the capital city would annex the area entirely.

==== Second Italian Expansion ====

Genoa which was now free from the rivalry with Apulia could focus on expansion. This was first done with the purchase for 270g of the town Vieste which had been a Bosnian possession in South-East Italy on the 8th of January 2023.
 
Additionally, the Swiss town of Sicilia which controlled about a third of Sicily alongside the tip of the Italian boot, fell on the 15th of January. It was partitioned with Genoa acquiring the half on the island of Sicily and Calabria, a Bosnian town, getting the mainland area.
 
Centralisation was also done with the annexation of smaller Genoese towns into their larger neighbours with the example of Liguria being annexed into the town of Genoa and Vieste being annexed into Napoli on the 31st of January.

==== Desertion of Tallo Capitis ====

[[Aurora:Monza|Tallo_Capitis]], a Venetian town led by [[Tallo_01]] became part of Genoa on the 5th of February after the mayor offered to sell the town for the price of 450g. This was a result of Venetian inactivity which led the mayor to seek a new nation.
 
The mayor then proceeded to join Genoa itself and ended up becoming a prominent member, today being a senator and mayor of Naples.

==== Plans for Reclaiming Florence ====

With Omereise staying banned, Genoa prepared to reclaim Florence which was set to fall on the 8th of February.
 
This was done by recruiting massively for the capital as well as gathering enough gold to fully acquire the area. Additionally, the idea of flooding Florence in lava was proposed since multiple Genoese members were still trusted in the town.
 
However, another plan ended up being acted out, 3 ice roads were installed below Florence that would serve as a way to easily reclaim most of the town when it did fall. These were built by KristauxSoft and are still present underneath the city today.

==== Days of Glory ====

While preparations for the reclaiming of Florence were being planned, the remaining Sicilian town called Syracusae unexpectedly fell on the 6th of February.
This meant that Genoa now had to prepare for the fall of two major towns, all within 2 days.
 
However, despite the difficulties and various other contenders for the land, both operations were a complete success :
 
Florence fell on the 8th of February and was fully reclaimed by Genoa in a few minutes (with the exception of 4 chunks that were granted to the [[Papal States]]).
 
Syracusae fell on the 9th of February and was nearly fully reclaimed apart from 26 chunks which were claimed by the Venetian town of Syracusae and 18 chunks which were claimed by Austro-Hungarian town of Palerno.
 
In total, Genoa successfully claimed 653 chunks while severely limiting any attempts from other nations, these two days were decisive in establishing Genoese hegemony over the Italian peninsula.

==== Tensions with Spain ====

Disputes between Genoa and Spain first begun when a claim map was released showing the entirety of Algeria and Tunisia as Spanish territory despite the fact that the Genoese towns of Tabarca and Mahadia already revealed a solid presence in the area.
 
Then, the Spanish town of Gibraltar led by the player Dolunay defected to Genoa on the 23rd of February, this came after the mayor faced alleged racism within Spain.
 
This move was supported by the Doge Erwinnn and eventually led to Spanish leader, Huxf, sending a 24 hours ultimatum to Genoa which stated that if Gibraltar was not kicked from the nation, a war would be declared.
However, Spain failed to act on the ultimatum and Gibraltar would go on to stay in Genoa for multiple months.

==== North African Expansion ====

Over the course of several months, Genoa went from having only a very limited presence in North Africa to becoming one of the dominant power in the area.
 
This was done mainly with the purchase of the towns of Jijel and Annaba for the price of 2.5k on the 30th of April which cemented the nation's presence in Eastern Algeria.
 
Additionally, the creation on June 17th and later expansion of the town of Histria led by Bearlilegal resulted in Genoa securing most of Tunisia with the exception of [[Carthage]] which remained a one town nation at this time.

==== Creation of Noble Houses ====

On the 9th of June, the idea of adding noble houses to Genoa was officially adopted and they would gradually be adopted over the coming months.
 
A noble house is a group of nobles who share the same values united under a patrician who acts as the leader of the noble house.
 
The founding houses were : [[Doria]] (led by [[Erwinnn]]), Fieschi (led by [[aTerraAustralis]]), Buonaparte (led by [[KristauxSoft]]), Gattilusio (led by [[SNova32]]) and Ferrari which later became Spinola (led by [[FatihAr]] then [[Sepl3333]]).

==== South Italian Unification ====

South Italy had stayed divided ever since the fall of [[Apulia]] with the southern part being mostly owned by Genoa (with the exception of Calabria) and the north being owned by Croatia.
 
However, prolonged Croatian inactivity led to Genoa being able to acquire the towns in the area with first the purchase of Napule on the 7th of August for the price of 2.3k and then the purchase of Naples-Salerno on the 23rd of September for 2k.
 
This meant that in a matter of 2 months, the Croatian presence on the peninsula had been reduced to only the part owned directly by the Croatian capital, Zadar, while Genoa now owned most of South Italy making it the largest Italian nation.
 
Finally, in late September, Calabria would join Genoa (though being unofficially part of SPQR until being formerly purchased on the 27th of January 2024 for 8.5k), completing the unification of South Italy which sparked celebrations within the nation.

==== New Doge & Corsican Renovation ====

On September 9th 2023, 32Andrew became the first elected Doge of Genoa, this was part of an overall change that saw the nation use a more developped and democratic system.
 
To celebrate the election of the new Doge, an inauguration ceremony was organised on the island of Corsica.
 
The island, which had previously housed a massive palace was completely reorganized. The palace was replaced by a renaissance themed city with a castle, a canal, houses and much more.

==== Preparations for Overclaim ====

With the addition of overclaim having been announced for the new year, Genoa began to prepare for it. The main worry lied in the town of Sicily wich required a huge amount of recruiting while not having an active mayor to do so.
 
This came in the form of recruitment contests, reorganisation of some towns mayors and diplomatic treaties.
However, this was overall a period of low activity within the nation compared to earlier months which severly limited the amount of work that was put into being ready for overclaim.

==== Reorganisation of South Italy ====

Genoese towns in South Italy had remained mostly territorially unchanged since their acquisition by the nation. In october, senator aTerraAustralis proposed a new division of these towns with the objectives of lightening the burden of overclaim in the area.
 
This project went throught multiple versions and was introduced between November and December, significantly cleaning up the borders of these towns and they have stayed the same up to this day.
