	When it was first found in February 2025, Oro belonged to the Melanesia ~~nation~~. Some Melanesian buildings - which still stand today in Oro - were constructed during this time. Some Melanesian buildings - which still stand today in Oro - were constructed during this time. Later in April, the mayor decided he no longer wanted the town, so he was either going to delete it or give it away. The leader of Melanesia, which the town belonged to, asked their neighbor and ally (Papua New Guinea) if they wanted the town, who agreed to take it on the 21st of April 2025. The town was immediately renamed to Oro in order to reflect the real life region and Papuan province of Oro.
