The Pre-Founding Era
The Paraguayan region has always been harsh and near untamable. The land is littered with the dead cities of Imperial Brasil, remnants of builds that were never completed, and hostile looters ravaging the landscape. Officially on the server the nation of “Paraguay” is but a small plot of undeveloped land to the East of the city of Posadas, Argentina. It is unrecognized by its neighbors as a true nation due to its inactivity, incorrect location to it irl counterpart, and one player citizenship. The true Paraguayan Region, north of the Paraná River line at Posadas and along the Paraguayan River, has had various claims and boundaries throughout its history on the server. However it’s history is unrecorded and only told through hear-say.
Asuncion is a complicated story and its history is debated due to the regions lack of records. The Imperial Brasil wiki has a record of the city existing under their control however there is no location founded of a city ever being built by the Brasileros.
Ciao and Patagonia
One early record indicates a settlement created by a player named Ciao000000 could be the first. He was infamous on the server for his toxicity and town hopping. Upon further investigation of old map records it was discovered that Ciao’s settlement was located on the Eastern side of the Paraguayan River of what is today the Bahia Asuncion The maps were filed under Patagonian records. In a short interview of Ferraru the King of Patagonia his nation invaded Ciao’s settlement in a short skirmish. His surrender gave claim of his settlement to Patagonia. With Ciao now gone and the region under Patagonian control any development would now cease. All of Ciao’s structures were destroyed and only foundations remained as evidence of it ever presiding there. Isolation fell upon the region.
An unknown amount of time would pass until the site was rediscover by Jiolion in early February of 2020. Jiolion, the founder and current Mayor of Asuncion built a house in the foundations of Ciao’s old settlement. This house known as “Casa Chaco’i” would become his homestead until his official founding of Asuncion and provided travelers of the isolated region a place to stay the night during their travels. The house would be later demolished to expand the Paraguayan River during the Cities Reconstruction Era.
PinguimArmado
Although the cities official founding is dated as March 1, 2020 by Jiolion the cities foundations can be credited to a player known as PinguimArmado. Not far from his homestead while scouting the area Jiolion rediscovered a series of planned out roads and various amounts of building materials unrelated to Ciao’s formal settlement. The site was at First undisturbed as it was unclear whether it had been abandoned. After two weeks of inactivity Jiolion presumed the site as a dead city and moved his settlement to the site. There were no structures only Avenues and Boulevard lining out a city that was never built. Only a sign stating an “empire will be built here” was founded on the cities surface level while beneath the streets was a storage area and mineshaft of settlers long gone.
A month would pass and the city’s skyline would rise until Pinguim returned to the server. Jiolion had luckly connected and met Pinguim, at what is today Plaza Italia, who would introduce himself as the original builder of the cities layout. He explained How he had began construction of the roads but would become inactive prior to any further development. He had no intention on staying any longer on the server and solely connected out of curiosity of what happened to his build. The two toured the city until Pinguim had disconnected for the last time. Pinguim is honored as the original Asunceno and the cities unofficial founder. His name is placed in the cities Panteón de los Heroes and a statue is dedicated to their meeting at Plaza Italia.
The Unknown Settler
There is one final record of the cities existence in the Pre-founding Era. While the city was being built Asuncion Began to make large investments into the regional infrastructure. Ruta Nacional 1 had just been completed and Subte Connection to Argentina had just been bored by Franchu Franchu (the Founding President of the Guarani) and Nico GNV (former Argentine Governor and Mayor of Rosario, Now Mayor of São Paulo and Chancellor to the Guarani). Following this, Jiolion would begin construction of the Ja’ha system and develop more formal Metro Stations. During the construction of the Chaco’i Transfer Station an old mineshaft was discovered. The location of the station takes place along the Costanera of Asuncion. Upon further investigation at a lower level of the abandoned mineshaft a storage area was found. Within the storage area two signs were left. Written upon them “Ayator was here...June 23, 2019” and “Asuncion and Paraguay will be founded”. It is unclear if Ayator was the former tenant of the mineshaft or just a passer by leaving his mark, none the less it is the only known written record within the server referencing the cities name prior to it’s official founding.
