Name

It was formally known as the Most Serene Republic of Venice (Italian: Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia, Venetian: Serenìsima Repùblica Vèneta, or Venetian: Repùblica de Venesia) and is often referred to as La Serenissima, in reference to its title as one of the "Most Serene Republics".

Known informally as the "Water Nation" of EarthMC, Venetia, Venezia, or the Venetian Republic.

History

Founded during the Crepuscular Era of EarthMC, on July 5th, 2019. Amidst an Italian civil war, the Doge ordered for the city of Venezia A metropolis at the time) to secede from the Realm of Italy and create their own empire. Thus the Republic of Venice was formed, and Libyan slaves and sandstone were shipped in to construct the city.

The founding fathers of the nation were Baconslice23 (Doge of Venezia), Kesaren (Councillor of Venezia), and Padaa2 (Treasurer of Venezia).

The Republic of Venice is composed of three major cities. Venezia, and Banjole. Both are built on water in the Venetian style of architecture. The buildings were constructed predominantly by Libyan slaves, shipped from Talbrus and Tobruk with the Sandstone used to construct Venizia's homes, and shaped its iconic style.

Government

Ruled by the Doge of Venice, Baconslice23. Seconded by Chancellors Kesaren and Padaa2. Colonists include Padaa2, Kesaren, _Steezy, and Fritzstick.

The winged Lion of St. Mark, which had appeared on the Republic's flag and coat of arms, is still featured in the red-yellow flag of the city of Venice (which has six tails, one for each sestier of the city), in the coat of arms of the city and in the yellow-red-blue flag of Veneto (which has seven tails representing the seven provinces of the region).

The winged lion also appears in the naval ensign of the Italian Republic, alongside the coat of arms of three other medieval Italian maritime republics (Genoa, Pisa, and Amalfi).
