Overclaim is a feature that allows towns which have too many chunks claimed (overclaimed) ie: 120/100 chunks, to have their land stolen by other towns which are not overclaimed. This incentivizes towns to keep their residents from leaving, and will mean that mayors will be more careful about which land they choose to claim. Towns take land using /t takeoverclaim.

Mechanics

  • Homeblock protection
    • A town's homeblock (where the /t spawn is set) is protected from being overclaimed
  • Town age requirement
    • Towns must be older than 30 days to be able to overclaim other towns.
  • Command cooldown
    • Towns can only /t takeoverclaim 8 times a day.
  • Overclaim shield [1]https://github.com/Fruitloopins/OverclaimShield
    • Towns have the ability to toggle a plot-based upkeep using /t toggle overclaimshield to protect themselves from getting overclaimed.
    • Every new day, towns with this shield are charged 1 gold for every 8 chunks they're over the limit by (ex: 116/100 chunks would result in a 2 gold upkeep for that new day).
    • Towns paying for Overclaim shield are immune to being overclaimed for the duration of their toggle.
    • Towns that fail to pay the shield at new day have it toggled off/disabled
