== Geography ==
The Northwest Territories are located in northwestern Canada, with some territories dipping into British Columbia. To the south are the nations [[Aurora:Cascadia|Cascadia]] and [[Aurora:BC|BC]], To the west is the nation of [[Aurora:Alaska|Alaska]], and to the east is the nation of [[Aurora:Wollaston|Wollaston]]. The nation features giant landscapes of mountains to the west and more warm, wet regions to the east. The nation can be divided into two political districts, the east and the west.

Eastern NWT features their capital, HayRiver. Many of the towns located in this district are founded on the bank of the Great Slave Lake. It is a popular destination for towns for its status as a solid fishing spot. This district also includes part of the Great Bear Lake.

Western NWT is a highly populated region, Featuring large towns such as Castle John, Fort Nina, and Delta. Castle John, the most populated town in NWT, is in this region. The region is known for heavy recruiting, bringing in many town owners and dedicated community members to the nation.
== Economy ==
NWT's follows communist economic principles, although participating in a pseudo-capitalist system as required by the shop system. They achieve this by having a robust welfare system, entitling every town to 100 gold after 2 weeks. Their economy relies on fishing and their nation shop, both of which are new and rapidly growing industries within the nation. Currently, their economy is quite small. Their are no major international stores located in NWT. Their are a large array of local shops around different towns, although there is not much of a market for embassy plots. A lot of monetary resources come from mining in the western portions of the country, while fishing in the east.

The government consists of the representatives, elected every month, that then elect two of themselves to become the prime minister and the speaker of the house for that month. The prime minister then selects half the number of the representatives, minus one, to be their cabinet ministers for that month. The prime minister finally decides what role the CM will fulfill; Economy, defense, interior, and others are popular picks. The speaker of the house will throughout the month assemble the representatives to discuss a topic and come to a consensus on how the government should proceed on that topic.

NWT was originally the territory under the jurisdiction of the Cascadian Communist Party (CCP), (traditionally the former far north of Cascadia), which advocated for Cascadian politics to take a more left-wing turn economically, increasing welfare and extending benefits for citizens and mayors.
=== Foundation ===
NWT seceded peacefully on good terms with [[Aurora:Cascadia|Cascadia]] on October 2nd, 2024. For the next couple of weeks, NWT acted peacefully, signing multiple non-aggression pacts with other nations. These included [[Aurora:Cascadia|Cascadia]], [[Aurora:Vermont|Vermont]], and Ontario. Relations were good, and NWT was gaining towns very fast.
=== Cascadian War (Ongoing)===
After [[Aurora:Cascadia|Cascadia]] created the town Ythan_Adevir close to Castle John, the most populated city in NWT, tensions heated up as NWT asked for this town to be moved further south as it blocks a road that was poised to be used for transport by NWT citizens and as a place for towns to be founded upon. The Cascadian Settlers declined this offer, which caused NWT to enter war with [[Aurora:Cascadia|Cascadia]] to ensure the safety of their claims. Since this war began, 2 more illegal townships created by Cascadia have been settled in the NWT, "Error" and "Beaver_Lake". Due to this war, Prime Minister RuffWoof resigned and the founders were put in place to run the country until a worthy candidate was selected. Eventually, TheSnowic was elected as Prime Minister for the month of November. After this, NWT briefly joined the Californian PSA meganation before later leaving and joining the Arctic Pact alliance due to right-wing ideology being heavily promoted in the nation.
==== Pechorsk_Colter Defection ====
The owner of Pechorsk_Colter, a user by the name of _haines, was removed from NWT for treason after the founders accused him of being a Cascadian spy. This resulted in the battle of Pechorsk_Colter. This battle would end in a definitive Cascadian victory.
