In May 2024, tensions rose when Msyyn attempted to incite conflict between Sodankylä’s mayor, CatboyHoratio, and the Scandian Federation. The root of the conflict lay in Sodankylä and Kolari leaving their original affiliations with Kola (Lapland) and Suomi and joining the unification efforts in Åland.

  "In a shocking and disappointing move, the towns of Sodankylä and Kolari, once proud parts of Kola (Lapland) and Suomi, have turned their backs on their origins and joined Åland during the ongoing unification of the North.
