The town of Oro was founded by steibu on the 8th of February 2025 and currently has a population of 52 people and spans an area of 102 chunks. The current mayor of Oro is Hmanth, a former resident of New Ireland.

A Brief History

When it was first found in February 2025, Oro belonged to the Melanesia nation. Some Melanesian buildings - which still stand today in Oro - were constructed during this time. Later in April, the mayor decided he wanted to go elsewhere out of Melanesia, so the town was about to be deleted because no one was going to take it. The nearby town of Papua New Guinea saw this as an opportunity and took the town in a deal that commenced on April 21 2025, handing the town over to the Papua New Guinea nation. The signing of this deal led to the PNG and Melanesian nations becoming allies.

Shortly afterwards, Hmanth, a member of the Papua New Guinea nation who had been inactive for some time, returned to EarthMC. He and his friend took the town and buildings were constructed. Oro quickly became a very populous town in the region, even surpassing the nation's capital New Ireland.
