Template:Infobox SystemA meritocracy, strictly, defines classes based on one's abilities and merits.

In a system like this, even the lowest peasants can prove themselves worthy to become an official. This places freedom of opportunity, with an upper class formed out of blood, sweat and tears to be of the strongest and most able, and a lower class consisting almost entirely of inactivity.

Duel of the Princes

This was the server's first attempt to install a meritocracy. A recently made Qin Dynasty has called for a way to recover a deteriorating state in desperate need of recovering from the Praxian era, which was decaying cities, straining their resources, and driving its entire population from 15 active players down to a staggering 3 players.

The Duel of the Princes was started as a race for a new heir. A scoreboard was established in order to keep track of deeds and merits. A broken economy table, as well as a lack of proper categorization, had lead to aristocratic abuse, which broke it apart. This did not discourage the Jing Dynasty from making a system to improve upon its ancestor, and create a far more durable table far harder to abuse with already achieved wealth.

PWW's Meritocracy

Shortly before its fall, PWW attempted to install a system of meritocracy in order to better manage its over-extended empire. However, due to a lack of understanding how it works, it had gone stale and failed, which made it destabilize further. This lead a handful of players to look down on meritocracy and view it as the bogeyman of ideologies based on its existence in PWW alone.

Germany's Meritocracy

Briefly, Germany installed this system with the help of the Jing Dynasty. However, the timing rendered the system unused, as its leader who installed it had left. This made it fail before hardly anyone knew it was installed in the first place.
