South Sinai is a Egyptian town located on the southern most tip and east coast of the Sinai peninsula. The town is characterized by its dramatic topography, from the flattened south which runs right up against Mount Sinai, to the northern desert and eastern cliffs. FTCF_Xlax is the founder and current Mayor of the town. The town operates under a citizens commune where all members share a high degree of collective work and governing participation.

History

South Sinai was founded under a direct initiative from the Egyptian Government to reaffirm its claims over the Sinai Peninsula. Original funding was provided by both Fluxeeh and FTCF_Xlax and quickly grew to span the entire South. The original town was founded in the ruins of a lost tribe who had settled the area long before. The original settlers had leveled the town to a common y-level developed a few small hut structures, built cobble roads and had a Sandstone lighthouse which played host to a port of two small ships. While the original tribe had made visible contributions to the area, many of these structures where left uninhabitable and in disrepair, and a large effort was taken to clear this abandoned structures to allow for development of the land. During the teardown of the lighthouse ruins, two small children of original residents were located within the structure. Due to the state of the town these children were brought to the capital Cairo and raised. Currently they operate a Fish Café within the Cairo residential district and have offspring living in Nile.

Bamboo Age

While the town was in its infancy the town was under a perceived threat of competitive development from other nations around the Mediterranean or even from abroad for the area. During this time while the claims were physically constrained by funding an initiative was taken to deliberately reduce the openness and slow any movement from from outsiders through and around the town. Bamboo was planted on every available block on the peninsula. This quickly grew to a thick Bamboo forest which proved difficult to navigate and often resource intensive to clear. This strategy proved effective as eventually all the land fell under South Sinai's claims. Since then Efforts have take place to clear the manmade forest however remnants still remain on the extremities of the town. The town has become synonymous with bamboo and there have been documented instances of outsiders traveling to the town to get a piece of bamboo for their personal production.

Continuity

After teardown, efforts were taken to preserve the original spirit of South Sinai, including continuing the deepslate theme of the original buildings. The town layout in the South Remains largely similar to the original town however there were large improvements to the safety and appearance of the town.

Foreign Interference

The town is currently suffers from the vague international standards against foreign interference through claim blocking. Known provocateur 32Yunnan with intentions to claim block founded a 4 chunk claim-arm town stopping any further expansion west for South Sinai. With no recourse through in-game mechanics, a ticket was formed to remedy this through the international administrative body who regulates player actions.

The ruling of the body, who is headed by the leader of the abusing nation, found that it was unable to connect the evidence for removal of the claim-arm. It is widely speculated that this ruling suffers either from gross negligence to the spirit of standards against claim blocking or explicit bias for those who share National allegiance. Multiple instances of claim blocking were presented in the ticket and while the body did agree they were illegal, the simple fact that FTCF_Xlax was the wrong mayor prevented any action from being taken.
