The first battle of San Martín

Prior to the battle

Context

The Battle of San Martín was a casualty-less battle between SGSSI soldiers and Nieuw Zeeland rebels with the support of Patagonia. The battle began on the 25th of June 2023 after F1rret, the mayor of Nieuw Zeeland was accused of treason by King Porbei I of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands for apologising to the F1 community for a track invasion begun by Porbei. As a result, F1rret fled for asylum at his home in San Martín, Patagonia (later Santa Cruz) to escape.

The first invasion

A force of 3 belligerents from South Georgia was assembled. Led by Porbei, the 3 man army consisted of not only the King of the SGSSI but also Dzik32, the Mayor of Autonomous Zone 18, South Sandwich Islands as well as Starman8742, a newer resident of Grytviken. The group met in the Grytviken Castle that evening and left for the southern coast of Patagonia by Bingha, Tierra del Fuego in order to march into San Martín via the south.

However, F1rret was becoming increasingly wary of the unfolding situation. Dres2, the God Emperor of Patagonia spotted the trio on their way north via the map and began tracking them down. He was able to persuade the renowned hunter mopugose who was terrorising the young town of New Samville, Patagonia. The first battle of the conflict had begun.

Unaware of mopugoses arrival, the South Georgians ventured just above Bingha before they were encountered by mopugose. Mopugose outsmarted the 3, killing Dzik32 immediately. He then used speed potions to catch up to Porbei on the outskirts of Bingha before slaughtering him. The only 2 deaths during the entire conflict. As for Starman, he was able to flee into claims before teleporting back into Grytviken. From here, mopugose returned to North Patagonia where he continued to attack New Samville.

The journey to San Martín

The defeated South Georgians re-organised their forces, employing AdmiralArrow, a loyal supporter of the SGSSI who had lived in Grytviken since its founding. The group re-equipped and began to head to San Martín via the nether. They used the half-built nether railway created by F1rret before heading to the main nether highway where they entered 2 separate boats and headed to the North West. At around this time, Ohiocapybara_69 revealed the South Georgians intentions to the Patagonians, exposing 2 of their options:

1. The trio was going to force F1rret into a "peace meeting" in the Grytviken war room in the basements of the Grytviken castle where they were going to execute him on the spot for his crimes or,

2. Wait until F1rret left claims before attacking him and quickly returning to Grytviken to prepare for a Patagonian assault on the SGSSI

While on the way to San Martín, King Porbei I went through with option 1, offering F1rret his last chance for peace however, F1rret trusted the given intel and decided to decline the offer. Despite the situation, no backup forces from Medanosa were able to prepare a counter-offensive for when the South Georgians would enter due to time issues and inaccessibility. So F1rret was left alone, unable to negotiate and locked in his home in San Martín.

The main offensive

The Battle of San Martín

The convoy entered San Martín through a nether portal owned by WiseLemon_ who lived directly opposite F1rret. They were able to deceive F1rret, entering the lower floor of the house while F1rret was looking out from the second. Luckily for F1rret, OhioCapybara_69 exposed their location, making sure he wouldn't become trapped on the lower floor with his assassins. Quickly blocking off the ladder and spotting Dzik32, F1rret begged the Patagonians to help to which they once again sent mopugose who was slow to make his way to the battlefront.

The South Georgians were near invisible to F1rret and were hidden for the next 10 minutes, crouching and moving slowly at all times. It wasn't until later that Porbei was spotted hiding outside of claims behind a wooden pillar on the outside of the house. The Grytviken army finally gave up their location, surrounding the house on all sides, forcing F1rret to retreat to a corner of his house and begin to hide. A standoff had begun.

The standoff quickly ended, however, after King Porbei scaled the walls by creating a structure made primarily of netherack. Followed by his allies, the South Georgians made a watching post on the outskirts of San Martín, towering over the home. This didn't last long after Porbei landed on the building onto F1rret, quickly followed by Dzik. The two failed to negotiate with F1rret, attempting to lure him back to Grytviken, a second attempt at their option 1.

The End

Shortly after, mopugose flew onto the building, forcing the end of negotiations. Feeling more confident, mopugose left claims with F1rret, reversing the positions of the battle. This time, however, the South Georgians were hesitant to attack, making a defensive line along the building. Patagonia was finally able to deploy two of their forces: Dejvvvv1, the mayor of San Martín and Martinetch7, a top minister of Patagonia. The Patagonian group assembled on the top of the home. The battle was finally equal.

Seeing what had occurred, Porbei ordered all his troops onto the roof, briefly staring down F1rret before ordering his men to return to Grytviken, effectively surrendering. However, Dzik32 waited in claims, continuing to stare down F1rret before eventually leaving. Patagonia had won.

The Second Battle of San Martín

Dzik32 vs F1rret

The next day, while F1rret was waiting just outside of his home, Dzik32 returned. Ready for an actual battle, F1rret prepared a defensive line on a hill by his home. However, Dzik was smart and used the structures that the South Georgians created the day prior, preparing to launch a surprise attack. F1rret, seeing what Dzik was plotting, scaled too upon the structures forcing Dzik to build up further. He positioned himself above F1rret before hitting him with his axe once, forcing a retreat from F1rret. Despite this, Dzik left, running into the hills, but he was not done.
