Pope Benedict XVII

Pope Benedict XVII, previously known as Angelo_Cardinalis, is the 2nd Roman Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Archbishop of Italia under Pope Alexander IX and was later appointed as Secretary of State of the Holy See by the later.

Pre-Papacy & Election

Angelo Cardinalis de' Medici was among the first in-game apostolic leaders to fully commit to an organized and institutionalized evangelization mission in EMC. He participated in the first Council of Bishops that would see the creation of the modern day EMC Holy Catholic Church and participated during the election of Pope Alexander IX.

Pope Alexander would entrust now Cardinal Angelo to the Archbishopric of Italia, appoint him as Secretary of State for the Holy See, and ask of him to design Vatican City. Duties which he attended until the resignation of Pope Alexander.

Cardinal Angelo oversaw the planning and preparations for the 2nd EMC Conclave that was celebrated soon after. For which he emerged as Pope, taking the papal name of Benedict XVII
