Vanuatu is a Terra Aurora nation located in the southern Pacific ocean. It consists of towns spanning Melanesia, Polynesia and Micronesia. The nation was originally founded on the 18th May 2022 as Papua New Guinea by Saturniva, until the capital fell into ruins, transferring the nation to the second-largest town, Iceland Japan, located in northern Vanuatu and ran by Gushi. On the 14th of October 2022, the nation was officially renamed to Vanuatu and the capital transferred to Poland, marking the beginning of the nation in its modern state.

Lore

Many of the towns comprising Vanuatu used to be part of a union known as the Pacific. This union, led by luka346 and co-led by TheTonton21 and Goodboy1111, planned to make a nation under the Pacific name. However, the leader luka346 would soon be banned for doxxing well-known player MilanGreeny under suspicious circumstances. This development caused the funding for the nation to slow down considerably. During this, the mayors Gushi, Warionia and Chabwick would grow unsatisfied with the current Pacific leadership. It would be discovered that the leader luka346 would pray to fascist leaders, and the rest of the leadership had failed several vibe checks. They created a group chat, recruiting other players in the Pacific region who felt a similar way, and eventually came to the conclusion that independence was the best way forward. Meanwhile, the nation of Papua New Guinea had just been inherited by Gushi. The Pacific leaders pressured Gushi into transferring the capital to a town controlled by them, called Honiara. Gushi stated he would transfer the capital on the 14th October 2022 to the most suitable town, never directly stating this would be Honiara. When the day came, he transferred the capital to Poland, and the towns of Penama, Efate, Loyauté, Nauru, Kiribati, Poland, Iceland Japan and North Fiji all seceded from the Pacific, declaring their independence as Vanuatu, creating a chilled out, progressive space for players who weren't as into the intense RP side of EarthMC, and who wished to distance themselves from more questionable members of the community. Afterwards, the towns of Toe-topia, Overwatch 2, Funafuti, Tuvalu Navy and West Fiji would all join the nation.
