Father Leontan is a player and mayor of Ivano-Voznesensk, abbot of the Ivano-Voznesensky Monastery. He is one of the few Orthodox priests in the world who have the official rank of the Roman Catholic Church.

Biography

For the first time, Leontan logged on to the server on December 18, 2023 and immediately began his pilgrimage to the sacred sites in Rome. After visiting Rome, Leontan reached Serbia and Russia. In Belgrade, he visited St. Elgik's Church, where he received a blessing for the establishment of the Orthodox Mission of the Roman Catholic Church in the Far East.

On December 19, 2023, Leontan reached Wrangel Island and founded the city of Ivano-Voznesensk there, where he created an Orthodox monastery of the same name. On the same day, he began the construction of St. Nicholas Cathedral on the highest point of the island, cutting down a nearby fir hut and building an underground warehouse. On the same day, he received the status of a father in the Roman Catholic Church with the blessing of Pope Pius XII.

On December 21, Leontan completed the construction of St. Nicholas Cathedral and consecrated it, placing the relics of St. Elgik and Christian icons inside.
