The Canadian Rockies

Template:Canadain Rockies InfoboxThe Canadian Rockies is a nation located in Western Canada. The capital sits in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, being the town of Edgewater. The nation was established on July 31st, around 10PM EST. It quickly grew to one of the biggest nations on the server.

Before Establishment: The Salish Federation

Edgewater and the Salish Federation

The Canadian Rockies began on May 10, 2020, when the town of Edgewater was created. The mayor was UghK1. It joined the Salish Federation after its creation, and started to grow. It quickly grew to 30 chunks within its first week.

Rio Grande Raidings

The large country of Rio Grande had tensions with Salish beforehand, when the Salish Federation was created. So whenever a new town is created and joins Salish, they target it. What happened was that every day, either BonZZil or Cubs_ would raid the town, and in some instances, killing some of the citizens. The people of Edgewater had enough of it, so UghK1, and his friend ItchyBarn, went out and trapped BonZZil in a hole, and also trolled around with him. This made BonZZil very angry and upset. The town of Edgewater would receive even more raidings by Rio every day. This went on for sometime.

The Memorial Day Boom

Edgewater only had 4 citizens living there, and given its size at the time, they wanted to fill the town up with friendly people. On May 24, 2020, UghK1 started to recruit for Edgewater, and quickly gained 10 people in one day. The next day, 12 people. And the third day, 9 people joined. This was Edgewater's first surge in population. 31 people joined the town in the span of those 3 days. The population would continue to grow steadily, reaching about 37 people in June.

The Beginning of June 2020

As the Rio Grande raidings went on, Salish continued to see rapid growth in their population. Edgewater, was again, one of the towns that was soaring in population, it didn't gain much at the time, but the population reached 45 by mid June. Making the Salish Federation jump from /n list 4, to /n list 1. Salish at this time also entered their first meganation/empire, the Canadian Empire.  

The Canadian Empire

The Canadian Empire is a large meganation in Canada. The Salish Federation joined the Canadian Empire on June 6th, hoping for this to settle peace with Rio Grande. However, it did not go as planned. Some members of Ruperts Land and HBC, countries in CE, raided Edgewater along with BonZZil. Making fun of the town, and the citizens. Since half of CE was on Rio's side, and Salish was still in the conflict with them, the Canadian Empire kicked out the Salish Federation from the meganation.

The Reaction

After this outcome, UghK1, the mayor of Edgewater, announced the kick in the Edgewater town discord. This angered the town, forcing every citizen to go into critical kill/war mode, killing any enemy that entered a small radius of the town. This led Salish to be on the offensive side of the war. After this, the Salish Federation continued to have war with Washington and Rio.

The End

The people of Edgewater were very angry about being raided every day by their enemies. Sure, they did kill and/or attempted to kill any enemy within a certain radius of the town. They realized it wasn't a great idea, since they kept loosing all of their valuables. K1 also discovered the rebellious nature of Salish Federation, and contacted LawofRence, the Cascadia President at the time. This led to the decision of the town of Edgewater leaving the Salish Federation, and joining the Republic of Cascadia on June 20, 2020.

Before Establishment: Republic of Cascadia

The War Ends

After 2 months, Edgewater left the war, and joined Cascadia. Cascadia is a neutral/peaceful country in the Pacific Northwest. This led the opportunity in Edgewater to step up, and become friendly with more nations on the server. Edgewater also started to build up its structure, expanding in chunks, and gaining some population. This continued into Late June, and July.

Canadian Rockies National Park

The Canadian Rockies National Park is a Cascadian National Park located in the city of Edgewater, ran by UghK1, and the new citizens of sifsofieee and Nikoh_. The park presents beautiful trees, flowers, a waterfall, and other activities like gardening, fishing, and boating. The establishment of the National Park was on June 28, 2020. Located just south of the district of RockyValley in Edgewater.

The 4th Of July Boom

The city of Edgewater was about to have its biggest spike yet. On July 4th, a townless invasion occurred in the morning with nearly 40 people townless. Out of the 40 people, Edgewater managed to recruit 14 people, surpassing the 50 mark in population. The next day, the surge continued, with 10 more people added to the town. And finally, on July 6th, it had its last surge of 9 people in one day. In all, the three days brought 33 new people to the city. Surpassing the 60 population mark, and being placed #13 in towns on the town list, tied with Toledo.

The Idea

The idea of creating the Canadian Rockies fully didn't come to mind until the town of Argos was created. LawofRence gave 64 gold to K1 to create the town, and for it to join Cascadia. Argos wanted Edgewater to create a nation, and them to join on. The people of both towns talked about it for 3 days, making the decision. The decision, was to create it! On July 16th, it was offficial, they would start to save up.

The Gilford War I

After the Idea was made, a player named 32pag donated 500g to the creation of the nation. When the goal was finally reached, 32pag found out his town was not going to be the capital, so he took all of the gold, and fled. This made the entire city furious, and even though they weren't technically allowed to declare war, they did it anyway. The town of Gilford was later created about 20 minutes after the crime was made. The people of Edgewater sent flanks to Gilford, attacking it every second 32pag was online. They killed Pag about 9 times in the 2 week war. The war ended when 32pag paid back the money he stole, thus creating the nation of the Canadian Rockies, capital, Edgewater.

Establishment

Admitted

The Canadian Rockies nation was born, and was admitted to the Republic of Cascadia on August 1st. It became one of the largest provinces in the coming days, and eventually, it was the largest province in the country, surpassing the core. Some of Cascadia did not like this, and became jealous of their population growth, importance in the country, and the creation. This was the first spark of tension between the Canadian Rockies, and the meganation of Cascadia.

Gilford rejoins

A few weeks have passed from the war of the Canadian Rockies vs Gilford. And since they paid the money they stole, the Canadian Rockies was happy to let them back into the nation. The nation continued to grow. At this time, the towns of Clearwater, Mt Brew, and Serenno all joined the Canadian Rockies. The town of Argos, the town who wanted to join, had some difficulties joining. The mayor of the town, sifsofieee, came down with COVID-19, delaying their time in joining. The nation was happy, or so, it thought.

The Gilford War II

The second war of Gilford was started when in the Canadian Rockies discord, 32pag started a big argument over how a person named, iSmokePlutonium, did not finish cutting all the trees on western Vancouver Island. However, smoke did what he was told to, and was promised 64g. 32pag, did not pay back. So once again, 32pag scams the Canadian Rockies, and leaves the nation. Yet again, with the nation at war with Gilford. They started to attack the town everyday like they did in the past, but at this point, 32pag knew he wasn't going to get out of it easily. So what happened was, 32pag gave Gilford away to a citizen in the Canadian Rockies, AmyUwU. 32pag then gave all of his belongings to him, and left EMC. Amy then renamed the town to Bull Harbour, and joined the Canadian Rockies, thus bringing the war to an end.

Kicked

As was stated beforehand, the meganation of Cascadia had growing tensions with the Canadian Rockies. This was caused by UghK1 threatening to leave several times over small arguments and debates with the Jefferson and Haida mayors. This annoyed many in the meganation as they disliked being threatened. Eventually, UghK1 decided to leave, citing military weakness as their main reason, and tried to join Rupert's Land. Cascadia was originally okay about Canadian Rockies leaving, but after some evidence against UghK1's loyalties were uncovered, several senators in Cascadia felt angry against Canadian Rockies. 32Oreo, Governor of Haida, proposed kicking Canadian Rockies, which was passed, meaning that Canadian Rockies was no longer a member of the Cascadian meganation. On August 17th, the Canadian Rockies was kicked from the Republic of Cascadia, officially going solo after Rupert's Land found no interest in Canadian Rockies. A significant amount of active members either left or became inactive as they missed being in Cascadia.

The 20 Hours War

The Battle at TheReptileOrder

From Leaving Cascadia, and going solo for the first time, many people of the nation felt very uncomfortable with this, one of those people being iSmokePlutonium. At around 11PM EST, Smoke rebelled from the Canadian Rockies, and along with his town, left the country. However, he left on a bad note, threatening to create a nation in the Canadian Rockies' territory. With an hour dispute going on, the Canadian Rockies declared war on TheReptileOrder, being Smoke's town. The Canadian Rockies Armed Forces were ready for battle the next day. First, was the Battle at Portland. The Battle at Portland didn't have much fighting, it was only when Smoke was in the wild. Once smoke got down to about 3 hearts, he ran into claims, and TP'ed back to TheReptileOrder, for an impending battle there. At this time, UghK1, greviaty, MegaPatato, and Typharos all went to the town to fight. However, Smoke ended up staying in claims, as he hired someone to fight for him, the battle first took place at TheReptileOrder, but quickly relocated to the NW side of Edgewater. There, 1 Casuality was reported, it was MegaPatato, however, the guy fighting for Smoke, Fuaxy, didn't kill him, it was UghK1. Turns out UghK1 hit Mega too much during the battle, and accidentally killing him. However, Fuaxy was too slow to retrieve Mega's stuff. The army eventually got Fuaxy down to 1 heart, and as he ran off, the battle itself ended in a stalemate. Hours pass, and at around 9PM EST, Smoke disbands his town, and relocates to Saudi Arabia. This secured the country's 3rd rebellion victory.

Al-Lizard vs Canadian Rockies Conflict - August/September 2020

For once, the Canadian Rockies got a break, population still going strong in the 80's and 90's, however, the Rebels they had once had would try to fight back. On August 21st, AmyUwU, the mayor of Bull Harbour, informed UghK1 about the Rebels merge into the terrorist organization that was Al-Lizard. It was a group of 10-20 people that wanted the Canadian Rockies to cease from existance. It included the some of the people in some countries including Cascadia, Caliphate, Brazil, and even some nation members in the country itself. However, these "spies" in the nation of the Canadian Rockies were actually informing the nation on what was going on. Basically, the nation knew since the start of the orginization. 1 attack attempt was located south of Edgewater. They were going to create a base there to easily travel to the Canadian Rockies. However, with the country noticing, it didn't take long for a town to be created there so the base wouldn't exist. This town is now called South Edgewater. The Al-Lizard later disbanded in Mid September after the country exposed their spying, and everything about them. This secured another rebellion victory, the 5th of the country.

Joining Salish

Canadian Rockies joined the Salish Federation a few weeks later. Many saw this as hypocritical as Canadian Rockies had cited originally that military weakness was the main reason for leaving, but instead joined a nation that was hated by a vast majority of the Syndicate and Older Accordo members. Another controversial topic was that UghK1 had switched sides from Pro-Cascadia to Pro-Syndicate to Pro-Accordo in a matter of days.
