The '''Panama–Sweden War''' was fought in late 2016 on the [[EarthMC]] Classic server. Fought between the '''Panama Democratic Union''' (Panama) and the '''Kingdom of Sweden''', it holds historical significance as the '''first official war''' in EarthMC history.

The conflict began over territorial disputes caused by a Swedish outpost established by Oslo in North America. The war concluded with a decisive victory for Panama, which dismantled Swedish power and established Panama as the undisputed hegemon of the server.

== Background ==
In the early days of EarthMC 2016, Sweden was one of the dominant powers in Europe, while Panama rapidly grew into a dominant force in the Americas.

Tensions began to escalate when the Swedish town of '''Oslo''' established an aggressive outpost in North America, directly encroaching on land claimed by Panama. Panama viewed this outpost as an act of imperialistic expansion and a direct threat to their sphere of influence in the Western Hemisphere.

== Course of the War ==

=== Blockade of Oslo ===
Determined to neutralize the Swedish threat, the Panamanian Army mobilized and launched an expedition across the Atlantic. Panamanian forces laid siege to Oslo, setting up a full blockade around the town. The blockade effectively cut off the settlement from external supplies and reinforced Panama's military presence in Northern Europe.

=== Invasion of Karlskrona ===
Following the blockade of Oslo, Panamanian troops pushed deeper into Swedish territory, launching a full-scale invasion of '''Karlskrona''', one of Sweden's principal strongholds.

Panama breached the town's defenses, leading to heavy swedish casualties and extensive raiding. The destruction and loss of assets during the raid rendered Karlskrona devastated and crippled Sweden's willingness and ability to continue fighting.

=== Staff Intervention ===
Due to the severity of the griefing and damage caused during the raid on Karlskrona—occurring at a time when formal server war rules were still being developed—the EarthMC '''Staff team intervened'''. Staff members performed a rollback on Karlskrona to repair the physical damage to the town. Despite the restoration of the land, the military defeat remained intact.

== Aftermath ==
The loss at Karlskrona broke Sweden's authority and prestige on the server. The defeat directly led to the collapse and eventual '''downfall of the nation of Sweden''' as a major power.

Conversely, the Panama–Sweden War cemented Panama's position in server history. As the '''first war on EarthMC''', it demonstrated the effectiveness of coordinated coalition warfare and propelled Panama to become the dominant global hegemon during the server's earliest era.
