Gippsland is a nation located in the southeastern region of Victoria on EarthMC. Founded in August of 2024, Gippsland is recognized for its vibrant community and resource-rich lands. The nation is centered around its capital, Bairnsdale, which was the first city established in the region. Bairnsdale is known for its strategic location and serves as the administrative hub of Gippsland. The city currently features large castle structures serving as government and capital buildings, and will soon house further community resources for residents. These residents live in the Residential Quarter, which features rows of finely-built streets for members of the community to populate.

Gippsland currently has many projects and future endeavours being worked on, mainly the formation of the new government system, and other programs and systems that will further Gippsland as an established nation in the world. The community has many friendly relations and allies across the world, though no official alliances or partnerships have been made in writing as of yet.

History

Defection 

The community of Gippsland was formed by a group of former mayors of the North Sea Republic who had defected, unhappy with the fundamental flaws and toxic community culture they had experienced in their former nation. Led by Owry, the group established the town Bairnsdale in Australia, as the majority of the group were from Australia outside of EarthMC.

Unification

Shortly after arriving in Australia and establishing Bairnsdale, the town rapidly expanded to around ~200 chunks within a day, and had already amassed ~15 residents. It gathered attention from a variety of towns and communities, Australian or otherwise, who contacted the mayor, Owry.

After talking with many new faces, it was GabeTheSaviour, owner of Albury, who had appeared the most helpful and kind, and had offered to help the town with settling in. A formal invite to the mega-nation of Pilbara was extended, and the offer was accepted by Bairnsdale. Bairnsdale then joined the EMC nation of Pilbara alongside many other towns.

Elevation

The nation of Esperance, owned by 4Adelin in Onfast Bay, was up for sale. After a week or two of negotiations with the sale of Esperance and the many nations who wanted to get their hands on it, it was finally sold to kobikraft and GalaxyGaming2000, from Pilbara. Bairnsdale's mayor, Owry, offered Galaxy 500g, to which he accepted, and the nation of Esperance was moved all the way to Bairnsdale and after a public vote, renamed to Gippsland. Having finally acquired a nation of their own, the now Gippsland insisted on continued partnership and membership with Pilbara, opting to stay and grow as a member nation of the greater Pilbara community. This decision was formally accepted by King Kobikraft and Prime Minister UnitiveBog.
