The Hudson Valley is a geographical region in northeastern America. It is as a historic terminus of the Northeast Metropolis, acting as a gateway between the former USA bloc and Quebec. For this reason, towns within the Hudson Valley have historically been highly valueable in geopolitical warfare.
According to Dr. Adrian Volkov, Jr.'s analysis of North American Culture, the Hudson Valley is broken into four regions, by culture, historical significance and urban development. These include:
- Albania
- Death Valley
- Eastern Hudson Valley
- Monteregia
Geography
Geographically, the Hudson Valley lies on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, east of Lake Ontario, north of New York and Formidable, and west of Boston.
The Hudson Valley is almost entirely forested and hilly, dominated by the North American Oak. Much of the region is a victim of the Global Gold Crisis. However, rich deposits of andesite and iron reportedly exist in the region.
General Culture
The general culture of the Hudson Valley is one of accomodation to geopolitical conflict, most importantly the Cold War. The Albanian Region, which has culturally and geopolitically dominated the Hudson Valley since early 2021, shaped most of the overall culture with former American Albany, with its melting pot immigration policies and social government programs.
The far north of the Hudson Valley is dominated by the Monteregian region. It is known for its French/Quebecois culture, historically being the "far south" of Imperial Quebec. Several houses and various other structures exist on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River.
The far west of the Hudson Valley is engulfed by the Death Valley region. Notorious as being a military front against American Albany during the Cold War, the area has changed hands between various former NAP powers, including Illinois and Quebec. The culture of the region is locked in eternal stagnation, due to the previous, fallen town being occupied by various military forces since early 2021. Currently, the Death Valley region shares much of its culture with Albany and central Quebec.
The far east and east shore of the Hudson Valley has been controlled by various factions in its history. Originally dominated by a now-defunct metropolis in the northeast, the east was historically controlled by Vermont, in what became known during the Cold War as the "DevDev Claim Arm", the northern district of the town of DevDev. After the war, it was removed, and now the area is inhabited by squatters, looters and wreckage of towns past, including Albany, DevDev and Trump City.
