There were talks between Roman and Carthaginian officials to no avail. After a few days of minor battles and skirmishes and a unanimous vote in the imperial senate, war is declared upon Carthage. After the declaration a few minor conflicts took place, most notably a Carthaginian beacon which was stolen by a Roman legionnaire. Despite this the war died down after 1-2 weeks with Carthage slowly losing its towns and eventually becoming a city-state. It has remained this way, even today. | ||
