The Great Bamboo Forest of the Northeastern United States, otherwise known as The Great Bamboo Forest, is a large collection of artificial bamboo forests created by anonymous users found across the Northeastern United States.

Description

Areas where the bamboo forests can be found include parts of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Virginia, Maryland, and New Jersey. All of the bamboo is contained within unoccupied wilderness plains.

History

Beginnings of the Forest

On the morning of May 26, 2024, the bamboo forest first began construction west of Cape Cod. It quickly spread through the plains of Rhode Island and was labeled, "The Great Bamboo Forest of New England" by its anonymous creators. The bamboo was then taken to Maine, where it was planted and spread across a coastal plain. On May 27, 2024, the bamboo was spread to the Delmarva Peninsula and planted densely throughout the expansive plain. On the night of May 28, 2024, the bamboo was distributed to more parts of Virginia and even to unoccupied areas on the southernmost shore of New Jersey.

Potential effects

Obstruction

The forest may obstruct buildings and other structures as it is spread. This may create a disturbance among towns as it would take lots of work to remove the bamboo entirely. If the bamboo were located on planned building areas that had not yet been claimed, the players of the town would have to manually remove it.

Economy

Since bamboo may rarely be used in trade, the forest could potentially disturb a nation or town's economy. If more bamboo is present within the world and easily accessible to the public, players may find it easier to simply take some of the bamboo instead of purchasing it, devaluing the bamboo and generating less profit for the nation.
