In warfare, players may utilise anything they can, advancing in technology for more effective attacks. Over the years, there have been multiple weapons developed by certain engineers to increase strength.
Ground Combat
Skirmish Warfare
This is by far the most common type of warfare. it consists of militias using the Dynmap to find other militias. These militias then engage in combat that last on average about 3 minutes. the battle ends when all of one side has either logged off or been killed. examples can be found in Bucharest, the GSW , the Chinese Civil War , and the Scottish Insurgency
Storm Warfare
This type of warfare is easy to perform, but has a low success rate. 1 or more people will find a town with players in it, then they will wait outside the town and coax the enemy into leaving. They will then be killed and their stuff looted.
Tank Warfare
An idea never truly implemented yet, tank warfare involves a vehicle firing at enemy forces. Due to the costs of creating such war machines, it is fairly uncommon to see such vehicles in ordinary war.
Siege Warfare
This strategy consists of one or two armies besieging a city for a long period of time until the armies retreat or the city is overrun.
Entrenched Warfare
This consists of a nation almost completely staying entrenched in their towns and claims. This defensive approach to warfare makes towns hard to breach, however if they are successfully taken, it can be disastrous for the defenders.
Dummy-Town Strat
A costly yet effective strategy that was developed by the Iroquois on the Datearth Gladia server but has yet to be used on EarthMC. A rich player can set up a "dummy town" near an existing enemy town, so militias can teleport near enemy bases and unleash hell on besieged towns.
Fort Warfare
This type of warfare is currently being tested by California. It involves combat engineers constructing forts beforehand. The enemy will have to take each fort one by one, which is slow and allows other militias to home in on their position. Forts can even be interconnected with tunnels and traps to slow the enemy down even more.
Pirate Warfare
A technique that has yet to be used in combat. A person loads up on arrows, hops into a boat, and hunts other boats with people in them. The pirate will then fire on the undefended ship and kill its captain, stealing everything. including the boat.
Warship Warfare
Another idea never truly implemented due to the costs, warship warfare involves a steam ship sailing across a body of water, and firing upon other ships.
Aerial Combat
Bomber Warfare
A bomber plane which is a flying machine with a small hole that can hold boats and an open redstone block is flown in the vicinity of a town. The pilot places TNT beside the redstone block, igniting it. The TNT falls to the ground causing significant damage to the region. This type of warfare was first used when The Glacial Empire sent one over FuzeCity during the Queensland Exclusion. It is uncertain if this classifies as griefing, however.
Paradrop
A group of troops jump off a plane to attack a town or army. Considered useless by most people due to the fact that players can paradrop off of bombers as well.
Turret Warfare
A technique in development by Denmark, it is meant to mass launch arrows onto the enemy, with multiple soldiers or dispensers. This technique has been tested before, however they are developing a tipped arrow version. Not any recorded instances of Aerial Bombardment so far.
Carpet Bombing
Currently being tested, this is basically same as using planes for bombing. However, here the plane drops around 10 tnt in a row, hence the name of Carpet Bombing. If done succesfully, this can completely obliterate any landscape or town.
Nuclear Warfare
Atomic Bombs
Consisting of a path of rails to keep the direction of energy stable, and nuclear units (Minecarts With TNT) to strenghten the bomb. This highly effective bomb has been used in battle most times by Ronald_Reagan123, in the Battle of Israel and the Polish-Austrian War.
Hydrogen Bombs
Much more powerful than the atomic bomb. It uses a different model for the base, and more nuclear units. This device is able to tear landscapes apart. Ronald_Reagan123 is currently testing out this technology.
