During November and December 2020, Nubian Arabia was expanded after 2 more towns were placed (Asir and Dawasir). This was whilst Yemen was growing in inactivity again, much to the displeasure of the Nubian government.
Yemeni Emperor, Raining_Oranges, saw this expansion and attempted to ask for the towns to join Yemen. However, this was refused. As a result of this, he would message Lopile, mayor of the biggest town in Nubian Arabia, Sanaa about joining. However, this failed, with Lopile blocking Raining_Oranges. Raining_Oranges would also attempt to message gorkymoo1119 about it, but nothing came out of it.
=== New Years' Problems ===
Around the time of New Years' at the end of 2020, several problems appeared within Nubia, revolving around politics, conflict and activity. Whilst only lasting about a week, they defined the start of 2021 for the Second Nubian Empire.
== | ==== Government re-election ====
| Further information: December 2020 Nubia elections, January 2021 Nubia elections | ||
One issue was raised throughout December 2020, and especially towards the end of the month, was the re-election of the same government since the October elections. After the December elections, more Nubians expressed discontent with it, especially from the active community. This issue was raised in a groupchat on Discord to the leadership, and plans were set up by gorkymoo1119 and twomoo1119 to allow for a new government. Twomoo1119 requested every Minister not to run for re-election, with the majority listening quickly. When the January elections came, no incumbent Ministers ran for re-election as asked.
=== | ==== Side server ====
' | Towards the end of December 2020, a SMP was set up as a server alongside EarthMC for Nubians to play on. However, this would steal much of Nubia's activity, with only 4 people on at peak hours. This was an immediate concern, with concern from the government (especially gorkymoo1119 and twomoo1119) that if not fixed by mid-January 2021 it could damage Nubia for much of early 2021.
However, the base 'Ancapistan' (one of the largest) was raided on the server by Noahser and Driifter, moving much of the active community back to EarthMC. Others would follow soon after, and the issue was quickly solved.
=== | ==== New Sudanese activity ====
Due to the Sudanese being on holiday, there was a large increase in activity within Sudan. The Nubians had minor concern about this as it allowed for a Sudanese gain in residents, however responded to the increase by an increase in attacks, which put off Sudanese activity.
As a result of these attacks, the Sudanese would lose two of their large towns (Kigali and Kindu) as a result of several battles, especially the Battle of Kindu. Soon, the Sudanese would return to former activity rates.
=== | ==== Formation of Congo ====
Kigali had expressed interest in creating a nation prior, with Nubia noticing and performing Operation Despot 2 on them with several towns, including Kiir, Turkana and Kyoga amongst others. With this, they would take the funds from Kigali, thus preventing a nation from being made.
Despite these efforts, Congo would still be created on the 26th January 2021. As a result of interactions with Kigali when they were in Sudan and during Operation Despot 2, relations were initially hostile, with Congo being considered an infringement of Nubian borders by the government of Nubia. On the 14th February 2021, Kindu would join Congo.
===== | ==== Loss of Kindu and conflict ====
Nubia-Kindu War | |||
After joining Congo (then Rwanda) on the 14th February, previously being a member of Katanga, Kindu would declare war on Nubia. Immediately after doing so, they would attack Azula, with minor fighting taking place upon the arrival of Nubian reinforcements. Kindu would lose one soldier and then retreat, with both belligerents considering the battle a victory for their side.
After the Second Battle of Kindu, several nations would begin to officially support the side of Nubia, with Congo also beginning to support Kindu in the conflict. This would be met with major backlash from Nubia, who would attempt to fight at Kigali too in relation to the ongoing war. Soon after these interactions, Kindu and the conflict around it would go inactive, with Kindu later being kicked from Congo in an attempt to please Nubia by glennjerman.
=== West African Expansion ===
==== | ==== Relations with Caesariensis ====
Following the foundation of Caesareansis and their success at populating the Western Sahara Desert, friendly relations were formed between Caesareansis, a nation at the crossroads of British, Roman and Nubian spheres of influence. The nations find themselves in common rivalries with nations like Spain and SPQR and relations remain relatively friendly, despite Caesareansis feeling intimidated by Nubia.
=== | ==== Foundation of Songhai ====
Initially bought by Pirate_Ron, Songhai (formerly PLC) on March 7th, 2021, it would be moved to West Africa and would remain small for over a month. This action would later be protested by Caesareansis but would not result on any conflict. Following two leadership changes, the nation would end up in the hands of Driifter after which it would begin to rapidly expand.
==== | ==== Collapse of Guinea ====
Following the violation of borders by their colony of Tanzania, and their lack of action on the issue, Guinea would be invaded by Songhai and seven of their towns would end up leaving during the week of April 10th. No battles were fought during this period however a significant amount negotiation would be attempted by Spain on Guinea's behalf. These negotiations were briefly interrupted when it was found that godlyeriss of Omani Sultanate was pretending to be a Nubian official which further soured Nubian-Spanish relations as well as Omani-Nubian relations. Following the fall of Guinea, both Tanzania and Moroccan Kingdom would declare independence from the Spanish Empire with Nubian backing.
==== | ==== Relations with Cape Verde ====
During the collapse of Guinea, Cape Verde collaborated with Nubia to secure land for themselves in Guinea-Bissau and Sierra Leone. As they secured two formerly Guinean towns as well as comfortable borders, friendly and productive relations were formed between Nubia and Cape Verde. These friendly relations would continue to grow as Cape Verde expanded their influence over the West African coast and seemingly ran into conflict with Caesareansis.
==== Conflicts with Oman ====
Following the collapse of Guinea, and Tanzania's exit from the Spanish Empire on the 13th of April, 2020, Tanzania joined the Omani Sultanate. This sparked a conflict based on Nubia's claim that the League of Arabic States had agreed to leave Tanzania neutral following their exit. This event would notably shape Nubia's foreign policy to be far more friendly towards, and defensive of, independent African nations. Conflicts with Omani Sultanate and Tanzania would soon ensue with Nubia engaging in many battles with Omani Forces. This war would quickly merge with the Second Philippine Civil War as Godlyeriss was involved in it as well. After a change in leadership in Tanzania, Godlyeriss would step down and the new leader would signed Treaty of Zanzibar, admitting Omani responsibility for the conflict.
==== Conflicts with Tanzania ====
Shortly after their exit from the Omani Empire, reconciliation between Nubia and Tanzania was attempted however negotiations broke down two weeks later after failure to reach a border agreement and Tanzania created the town of Arusha in Somali borders. Recognizing that Tanzania would continue to be a problem and honoring their agreements to protect Somalia, the Second Nubian Empire made preparations to reinforce the region with more towns until a claim war broke out between the two. The conflict quickly escalated with both sides conducting frequent raids on eachother's towns and creating many towns in the region to secure their claims to the region.
=== | === Purchase of Addis Ababa ===
Purchase of Addis Ababa
After negotiations ending on the 21st May 2021, Nubia would purchase Addis Ababa on the 22nd May 2021. The town would be given to cheetossssss, with Ethiopia itself being disbanded. This was later rolled back following server maintenance and Ethiopia would not be resold afterwards.

On the 13th of June 2020, a treaty was made and signed between Nubia and allies to recognise Nubia's claims in the Horn of Africa and Arabia, as well as Somalia's claims in the same region. It was later signed by Kanem and Guinea, who were also friendly with Nubia.

The | ===== Svalbard =====
Nubia-Svalbard relations
Nubia and Svalbard have not had bad relations, however they formally had neutral relations. Svalbard supported Nubia against Sudan in the war against Sudan, as one of the first nations to do so. Their former ally/controller, Nordaustlandet had also helped Nubia in the Battle of Sanaa, during the Yemen-Nubia Conflict.
Svalbard would go onto join the Second Nubian Empire in late November 2020, with hopes Nubia would help them regrow. This was after a push from Maple_d, due to his relations with notable individuals in Nubia, such as Minister of Municipal Development gorkymoo1119.
' | =====Within the Greater Roman Empire=====
As a former member of the Greater Roman Empire (GRE), Nubia still somewhat aligns herself with its members. Numidia is considered its closest ally in the GRE, due to Nubia's proximity and historical membership in the African Union with the nation. However, Nubia also considers nations such as Israel as an ally within the GRE.

Sudan is made up from the towns of Dharug, Frog Moore and Kraftier. They rebelled from Nubia due to them being heavily disliked in the nation, and have, as a consequence lost over 800 gold to Nubia and allies, during Operations such as Operation Despot and in fighting.
This led to a large scale war being declared by Sudan, despite Nubia already fighting them.
==== Former Enemies ====
The following are a list of former enemies of Nubia, with history into them being an enemy. They now have a neutral relation with them.
=====Ancient Egypt=====
One of Nubia's only former major enemies was the nation of Ancient Egypt. See the section on Conflicts with Ancient Egypt for more details. Nubia has also involved themselves in some of the Greater Roman Empire's current wars including those against Bosnia and Ottoman Rumelia, due to Ancient Egypt formerly being a colony of Bosnia.
===== Yemen ===== | |||
Nubia-Yemen relations
After independence, Nubia wished to remain neutral with Yemen, even to an extent friendly. However, due to an alleged attack by Nubia, Yemen launched an offensive on Nubia at the town of El Daein, starting the Yemen-Nubia Conflict, which had somewhat started verbally and politically on the 23rd of May 2020, however fighting in-game physically only happened from the 2nd of June 2020 to the 20th of June 2020, in a 18 day high death disagreement. Since, Nubian claims to western Yemen are disputed by Yemen, however the nation has went relatively inactive due to Raining_Oranges' friends quitting the server.

The viewpoints of many Nubian citizens are strongly divided, which can be seen in the monthly Nubian Elections.

===Election Process===
The elections take about a week in total including campaigning, voting and getting ready for the next government of the nation. The elections for all Minister positions takes place about 5-7 days before the end of the month, when the elections happen, and end of term of the current holder. They usually take place around the first of the month.
====Candidate Selection====
All candidates for Minister positions must alert the Emperor of them wishing to run within the election week, and candidate applications end as soon as voting starts, or else the player will not be allowed to run due to it being too late.
====Campaigning==== | |||
This lasts up until the election results are out for every one of the Minister positions. Candidates can post any form of propaganda, poster, text or other and can campaign elsewhere.
====Voting==== | |||
The voting lasted 24 hours, using an alternative voting system as it has since independence from Yemen. Prior to independence, it was a first past the post voting system. The voters, also known as the Lower House, must pick each candidate in the order of how much they like them, and how much they want in government.

== Vexillology == | |||
Flag of Nubia | |||
The Nubian flag is a vertical tricolor/tricolour. The most speculated symbolism of the flag is that the fly end of the flag is dyed brown to represent the people of the East African coast. The middle band is also dyed white as to represent the White Nile River which flows through the center of the nation. The black band represents the fertility of the Nile River and the land that sits by it.

The flag of the Nubian Antarctic Territories includes a blue circle in its center. While having no official meaning, it is used to represent the abundance of water, the cold weather as well as being simply a symbol commonly used to represent Antarctica in game.
| | |||
| | == Infrastructure == | ||
| | Nubia supports a large amount of infrastructure relative to its size, especially for those traveling North or South. The Great Rift Works were completed as of the middle of August allowing travelers to boat directly from Alexandria, through El Obeid, to Mozambique via a series of lakes, rivers, and newly constructed canals. As of late August, ice roads were constructed to connect Slime City, Malakal, Al Golem and Ellesmera to El Obeid as well as a direct connection from El Obeid to Corsica, and the Wider Americo-European ice road network. Nubia's ice network extends into the Ethiopia region and deep into Central Africa as well. | ||
| | == Subjects == | ||
Until the formation of Nyasa, Nubia has a relatively limited sphere of influence due to isolationist policies. For the most part, its sphere of influence still does not reach far beyond Africa.
=== Present Subjects ===
==== Nubian Antarctic ====
The Nubian Antarctic's entry into the Nubian Empire came a day after a visit from the mayor, Shmalter, (Also known as "Walter,") who concluded that closer ties to Nubia would greatly benefit both Nubia and his town formerly called Arcane, now called Harepan, the capital of the Nubian Antarctic . The nation, now called Molodezhnaya, is now ruled by TransientBeing and is mostly inactive.
====India==== | |||
On August 30th, the nation of India joined the Second Nubian Empire, after a private discussion with twomoo1119. The leaders were former residents of Mersa, one of the larger and more influential towns of Nubia. Nubia has since helped develop the nation, and sorted disputes between other nations and them.
==== Baghermi ==== | |||
Baghermi entered the Second Nubian Empire on the 20th of October 2020, after voting passed in the Minister voting channel. This was after a suggestion by gorkymoo1119 that they speak to the Baghermi leadership about their relations. Baghermi is located on the western border of Nubia, with little foreign relations prior to the entry to the Empire.
==== Kasai ==== | |||
Kasai entered the Second Nubian Empire on the 6th of November 2020, after talk between twomoo1119 and Vogotli about the creation of a nation with the town of Motherland. After formation, a post was put up asking to authorise the entry of Kasai to the Second Nubian Empire, with all Ministers agreeing on allowing their entry. They were used to regain control over central Africa and surroundings, after the exit of Zambie from the Empire. Many towns formerly in Zambie joined.
| | |||
==== Zambie/Katanga ====

=====August 3rd - September 1st 2020=====
On August 3rd 2020, the nation of Zambie, with capital Saint-Victor joined The Second Nubian Empire. It quickly grew, with its leader MasterNathan being a previous resident of the Nubian town, Suna. It allowed for the Nubians to secure dominance over Namibia/Zimbabwe/Mozambique area, growing to 6 towns and 13 residents, making it one of the largest nations within Southern Africa at the moment.
| | On 1st of September 2020, Zambie left the Second Nubian Empire, right after the end of the elections, likely in connection to StarKiller1744 being elected, due to a strong rivalry existing between him and 57billy. | ||
After leaving, a border crisis was created due to the towns of Kasteel, Gizmo and Kyoga being in Nubian proper claims. Since, Kyoga and Gizmo rejoined, and Kasteel fell.
=====November 16th 2020 - Present=====
On the 16th of November 2020, a purchase agreement was made between 57billy and Yoshigamer1298 for Yoshigamer1298 to purchase the nation of Zambie and capital, Moba. Yoshigamer1298 gave his town of Dawasir to dsimon44_, before the purchase actually happened and he was made the nation leader. After the purchase, 57billy moved to Los Angeles.A vote was held in the government voting channel, where it was unanimously agreed that Zambie be allowed to re-enter the Second Nubian Empire. The announcement was made that Zambie had re-entered the Empire later. The nation of Zambie was now considerably smaller than back in August, due to many towns of Zambie relocating to the other Nubian subject of Kasai, as they wanted to stay within the Second Nubian Empire.
Once the vote had passed, a small celebration was held and picture taken showing gorkymoo1119, Mengan_, twomoo1119 and Yoshigamer1298 with Nubian banners in their hands at Zambie, outside of the shop of Brobbo41, a Kasai mayor.
| | |||
In early January 2021, the nation was renamed to 'Katanga' after being 4.1ed. The Nubian constitution was updated appropriately.
==== Svalbard ==== | |||
Svalbard joined the Second Nubian Empire on the 27th of November 2020, after final discussion agreed upon between faukiz_d (then named Afaukiz) and twomoo1119. This was after discussion throughout most of November.
=== Past Subjects === | |||
==== Introduction ====
The subjects listed below are all currently former members of the First Nubian Empire. As of present, only 2 nations have left the Second Nubian Empire, Zambie, however later rejoined after being purchased again by the Nubians and North Greenland after it went up for sale.
Molodezhnaya was also part of the First Nubian Empire, however joined the Second Nubian Empire after its creation as well, leaving the Yemen Empire for it.
====Nyasa==== | |||
Nyasa was formed in the middle of December of 2019 and quickly grew to 100 residents in slightly over a month, making Nyasa the second-largest nation in Africa by population, after Nubia itself. They were intentionally set up as a puppet state to secure Nubia's southern border as well as their hegemony over the East African coast and reached over 100 residents at their height, however, left Nubia in late February 2020. The nation is now the Swiss Colony of Zanzibar, lead by JackJackson.
| | |||
| | ==== Adal Sultanate ==== | ||
The Adal Sultanate was formed shortly after the Nubian acquisition of Ethiopia, in late December, 2019. In order to secure their hegemony over the East African coast, they were invited into the Nubian Empire and gladly accepted. As of early February, the nation leader, Incarnation, moved elsewhere and the nation lost all its towns (Aden and Rumah, who formed Yemen, another later Nubian province) effectively killing it. The nation finally fell in June 2020 and its land was divided between Somalia and Nubia.
==== Gold Coast ==== | |||
Gold Coast was a short lived puppet state established by Nubia with the goal of consolidating control over West Africa and the rest of United Africa. The colony, which saw limited success, was abandoned, and later sold off after the collapse of the first Nubian empire.
====Yemen==== | |||
| | Nubia-Yemen relations | ||
Yemen was formed in late January, 2020 from a formerly a town from Adal Sultanate, another Nubian province. After some negotiation and a raid from Grand Australia, Yemen decided to join the Nubian Empire. Yemen went on to expand its influence and eventually incorporated the remnants of the First Nubian Empire, including Nubia itself, following its collapse. Following this, Nubia fought a brief conflict with the Yemen Empire to regain and ensure independence, due to the Yemeni challenging of it.
==== North Greenland ====
North Greenland was bought by former Nubian residents karlraven06 and their friend Kallus666. After a talk with Nubian Emperor twomoo1119, they requested to join the Second Nubian Empire. Once a vote was held in the Minister voting channel and the Lower House voting channel, they were welcomed into the Empire on the 9th of October 2020.
