Subsequently, a lighthouse was erected on a small island to the northeast of the main settlement.
As development continued, the Cathedral of St. Alexius of Rome was constructed to the east of the town hall. Following its completion, the previously built two-story house of the Mayor was modified to a single-story structure. Following their construction, the wooden Church of St. Nicholas was built on newly terraformed land located east of the island, outside the protective walls.
Following the completion of major projects on the island, the Mayor extended his efforts to the nearby city of Kazan with the authorization of its mayor, Askate. There, several buildings were constructed, including the Café-Restaurant ''Solovki'', the Theologian Institute of the Solovetsky Monastery, and two residential buildings—all built free of charge by Fomich22 himself, the ascetic Mayor of Solovetsky, who remains the island's sole inhabitant (+4 sheep).
A storage building was built north of the cathedral.
In a later phase of development, tall trees began to grow naturally around and within the monastery grounds. These trees were eventually removed to allow for a redesign of the monastery’s walls and towers. As part of the redesign, a new entry tower was constructed in white with a black roof, proudly displaying the flag of the Russian Empire, the nation in which the town is located. After the reconstruction was completed, the trees were replanted.
On 1 November 2024, a port was constructed on the northeastern part of the island, further connecting Solovetsky to surrounding settlements and improving transportation and trade access.
On 6 May 2025, a new wooden ''izba''—the Mayor’s residence—was built to the northwest of the cathedral and to the east of the storage building.
On 11 July 2025, the interior of the Cathedral of St. Spyridon underwent a major redesign. A new wooden iconostasis was installed, and a choir balcony was added, enhancing the liturgical and architectural character of the space.
On 16 July 2025, Solovetsky crosses turned east... and the traditional orientation of Solovetsky religious structures was adjusted: the cathedral’s altar, iconostasis, and choir balcony were realigned to face east. With this change, the main entrance to the cathedral was relocated to the bell tower on the western side of the island.

The town of Solovetsky is an island located in the middle of the Russian White Sea.

History

Following its establishment on 10 April 2023, the Mayor initiated the restoration and reconstruction of unidentified cobblestone ruins located on the island. Later that same week, the island's territory was expanded, marking the beginning of a series of major development projects.

Between its founding and the end of April, substantial progress was made. The main building underwent a series of upgrades under the Mayor’s supervision, while the island's terrain was leveled and reshaped to create a more uniform and rounded topography. During this period, livestock—particularly sheep—were introduced, resulting in an accumulation of grey and white wool in the town’s storage chests.

One of the most significant early construction efforts took place at the end of April. On 29 April 2023, the Mayor announced the construction of a set of defensive walls along with the Solovetsky Towers. This project was swiftly executed, with construction beginning and concluding on 30 April 2023. Prior to this, the Mayor had completed an underground tunnel connecting the island to the nearby town of Sarai.

Further developments occurred throughout the remainder of the year. On 26 June 2023, the Mayor created a pond, which was later supplemented by a network of underground canals branching outward. On 25 August 2023, a wooden house was constructed on the western side of the island, followed shortly by the building of a two-story traditional Russian-style house northwest of the town hall. Subsequently, a lighthouse was erected on a small island to the northeast of the main settlement.

As development continued, the Cathedral of St. Alexius of Rome was constructed to the east of the town hall. Following its completion, the previously built two-story house of the Mayor was modified to a single-story structure. However, all of these buildings—including the cathedral, lighthouse, and residential structures—were later demolished to make space for a larger religious complex.

The current architectural centerpiece of the island comprises the Cathedral of St. Spyridon and an adjoining bell tower, both of which remain standing, albeit with some modifications. Following their construction, the wooden Church of St. Nicholas was built on newly terraformed land located east of the island, outside the protective walls.

Following the completion of major projects on the island, the Mayor extended his efforts to the nearby city of Kazan with the authorization of its mayor, Askate. There, several buildings were constructed, including the Café-Restaurant Solovki, the Theologian Institute of the Solovetsky Monastery, and two residential buildings—all built free of charge by Fomich22 himself, the ascetic Mayor of Solovetsky, who remains the island's sole inhabitant (+4 sheep).

On 6 May 2025, a new wooden izba—the Mayor’s residence—was built to the northwest of the cathedral and to the east of the storage building.
