Rio Grande is a nation that was created on June 27th, 2019 by Emperor BigshotWarrior, Chancellor GodotArmando, and San Antonio mayor Lord Thanos. Throughout the next year of its existence, Rio Grande would grow into a mega nation that would control over a dozen in game nations at any given time, and was the premier power of North America. However, growing inactivity, multiple important people leaving the nation, and a lack of population growth led to the decay of the nation. This led to the creation of a Provisional Government under North Paso which Co-existed with the Rio Government. On August 24, 2020, Moe dissolved the Fifth Republic of Rio, effectively ending what many people to consider the "Original Rio Grande Empire" (Although the official name was the Republic of the Rio Grande). The Kingdom of the Rio Grande (under an inactive Bigshot), and the Republic of Texas (under President Paso) became the two rump states that claimed to be a continuation of Rio Grande. The Kdm of Rio Grande would remain inactive for several months while the Republic of Texas would be coup d'état by the Pueblo Empire, and left as the rump state of New Caledonia. New Caledonia would ultimately enter Cascadia  in May 2021. A month later, the Kingdom of Rio Grande would once again become active. Many of the old members, including Bigshot, Chancellor Natezaa, Cubs, Moe, BonzZil, and later Paso would reunite and begin what is unofficially called the Second Rio Grande Empire.
