Shitland, officially the Communist People's Democratic Principality of Shitland, was a nation that briefly existed on the Northwest coast of British Columbia in Klondike County, Cascadia, for 6 minutes on January 28, 2026, from 6:00 to 6:06 pm Pacific time. It was founded and led in its short existence by SergioTheCrafter as crown prince, prime minister, and supreme state chairman.

Background

SergioTheCrafter served as the 13th president of Cascadia from April 21, 2024 to May 19, 2024, and later as the 4th president of Vermont before his impeachment and conviction by the Vermont General Assembly and his return to Cascadia. Having served various roles in Cascadian politics, Sergio retired in late 2025, only to be elected back to the Cascadian House of Representatives in the January 2026 election. On January 24th 2026 within The Cascadian Independent (TCI), a popular Cascadian journal founded by President KayP7, Sergio posted an opinion article titled "A letter to Cascadia from SergioTheCrafter" in which he wrote about the ongoing attempt to expel him from the Cascadian House of Representatives for his alleged foreign collusion with Texan Explosivefirewk, as well as his disapproval for the Cascadia-Vermont merge, his participation in the Wordlegate controversy, and his contempt for LadyEsquimalt. Hi y'all. I really don't usually use the Independent as my personal venting space, but I think it's about damn time.

As you may or may not know, Speaker Mjap has proposed a debate to expel me from the House. Frankly, surprising to even myself, I'm not too bothered about it. I'll defend myself but I don't feel a need to create a sobstory for that.

What I wanted to do tonight, is to clear up some murky waters about some of my actions over the past few months, give some perspective into my situation, explain why I spoke to Explosive about "classified" details in October ish? (I forgot, this is all being written at once), and what led up to it.

Throughout my three years in this nation, two or three I actually don't know and don't care to check at this moment, I've slowly watched the community aspect of our nation improve, and deteriorate, and improve, and enter this loopy slippery slope. I get, this makes me sound super pretenious, but I believe that atleast for the community aspect of Cascadia, the merge of Vermont was a net negative. And I know, people hate me for that. And that isn't saying every Vermonter is an ass. It may be my fault (actually, it probably is, lol), but it's felt from the second the merge occured, Vermonters have had a hatebone against me.

Through WordleGate, through a lot of things, I've just felt targetted and stressed by this community. The community that I used to look up to, the community I used to love interacting with. It's pushed me back from even engaging much with the majority of the nation. Don't get me wrong, there are 100% some good apples in this nation, many of them, but it just feels like our nation, maybe not entirely but atleast in politics and debate broadly, that just so much hate has grown between people. People are divided. People just hate to hate.

And I get it, people hate me for saying this as well. But just, honestly, fuck you LadyEsquimalt. I may be using TCI wrong here but at this point I'm just trying to get my mind across.

This is all jambled. I'm aware of that. I kind of want to get to the next part, why I conversated with Explosive. It goes into the above. After WordleGate, and the Vermont Merge that I was (and still am) against, I wanted to vent and argue with someone who would atleast listen to my honest criticisms of our nation. That's how, I landed on Explosive, through conversations we had previously about I honestly forgot. Something else entirely.

If I wanted to write a full thing it would be 10,000 characters most likely so I'm going to end it here. I'm sad to see the state of Cascadia's community, I'd like to give thanks to some people in this nation who have honestly been the friendliest people I've known, I'd like to condemn the people who led to the hate in our community, and I'd to congratulate the people who have been preying on my downfall. Hallajuah to you.

By this point, Sergio had attracted a variety of criticism for his alleged nativism and Anti-vermonter xenophobia, leading him to be a prominent target by political figures in varying locations on the Cascadian political spectrum, notably from President KayP7 and Vice President wishful_. After the controversial statement on TCI, opinions of Sergio's expulsion of the house evolved from mildly divided to an almost unanimous agreement. Sergio was officially expelled from the House of Representatives on January 25, 2026 with 18 ayes and 2 abstentions out of a voting body of 23.

Timeline

Shitland was founded at 6:01 pm Pacific time. It was immediately renamed by staff to 2.1notinshitland for violating nation naming rules. Sergio declared in the Cascadian discord server to be a trade possession office of Cascadia, despite not receiving authorization from any governmental authority of such transaction. As he was de-roled of his citizenship from the Cascadian server, he eventually sued for peace and rejoined Cascadia, dissolving Shitland after just 6 minutes. By several, this brief comedic episode has been nicknamed the Six-Minute War, in reference to the famous Six-Hour War.
