College Station is a historic Texan town. It is currently the second oldest town in the Texas region. It was founded by KFF (later GodotArmando), and went on to co-found both Rio Grande and later the Republic of Texas. It is located in the eastern end of Texas somewhat close to the border between Texas and Louisiana in real life.
History
Founding, and Co-Founding of Rio Grande
When joining the server, GodotArmando decided to form the town College Station.
EastPaso
The town was run by a player named EastPaso (not to be confused by North_Paso) and GodotArmando. GodotArmando had to hide outside the town limits whilst waiting for the town to be transferred to him, the whereabouts of his hideout is unknown.
After 2020
ACSK3 as mayor
In 2020, all the members of the town had already become inactive. ACSK3 was the last remaining member in the town thus was given control of the town. He got to work tearing down and redoing the homes of players who had left the server permanently and rebuilding them or giving the plots to his friends who he brought onto the server.
MatauPlays0 as councillor
A few days after ACSK3 was promoted to mayor of College Station, MatauPlays0 joined the town after first joining emc after ACSK3 had shown him the server. He started work on a series of expressways and freeways around College Station in order to fix up the roads and add detail to the city. Texas State Route 6 was presented to the then Republican Texas Provisional Government as a plan to build out the Texas State Route system throughout the irl state of Texas. TX-6 was built out of cobblestone as a trial run of how a highway would look like. The proposal was accepted and the nation proceeded to put MatauPlays0 in charge of the state route system.
devvytester as councillor
Just like MatauPlays0, devvytester also joined the town after first joining EMC after ACSK3 had shown him the server. He joined a little later after MatauPlays0. He was promoted to councillor of College Station to assist MatauPlays0 with paving the roads around College Station. After MatauPlays0 left the nation to join the neighboring nation of Louisiana, devvytester was placed in charge of finishing the roads around College Station.
Infrastructure
Roadways
Controlled-Access freeways
A freeway in College Station is defined as a high-speed route with complete grade separation, realism and no property access.
Texas State Route 6 was the first and only freeway in College Station, planned by MatauPlays0 and built by devvytester. It included interchanges at all the major roads it encountered on the east end of College Station. It starts at an intersection with I-10 and heads northwest. It interchanges with Northgate Boulevard and the Historical district and makes a turn westwards. There is a semi-directional T interchange at Turner Street and the route continues north. The current end of the route is at an interchange with Texas State Route 21, which goes westwards on the edge of the city and connects to the industrial district and Willis.
Expressways
An expressway in College Station is defined as a major road with limited or somewhat controlled access while also being used as a way to get across the town or between other towns faster than running in the wilderness.
Unlike the standards for Interstates, I-10 technically is an expressway, having very unrealistic turns, no form of grade separation and is also largely incomplete and unmaintained in the east degrades it to an expressway.
Unlike it's real life counterpart, Texas State Route 47 is an expressway. It allows access between Downtown and Willis. It is paved with ice in it's median and is the most travelled road
Rail
There used to be an old railroad underneath college station however it was cancelled and abandoned. It was found by ZodiakFlesh and he planned to renovate the railway to travel between San Antonio and the rest of the Louisiana towns in the east undetected. However following tensions between the citizens and ZodiakFlesh, he decided to cancel it and to blow it up.
Buildings
This can also be named Architecture/World wonders/whatever. This will be required for new wiki pages on towns as it will give readers a better idea of the town they are looking at and to show some achievements of the town. Buildings do not have to have any standards to be shown, literally just wilderness can be shown if the town is just wilderness, but something must be shown.
Notable People
This is a required field to detail important members of the town historically or currently, so it's easier to tell which people are in which area and to get a better idea of the region. This can be organized in a list, for example:
- ACSK3
- GodotArmando
- MatauPlays0
- devvytester
