Owari (Japanese: 尾張) is a town located on the Japanese Island Honshu on EarthMC Terra Nova. It's one of the oldest still existing towns in Japan.
History
April 2019
Owari was found by a Japanese friend group (Arekkusu98, B1te02, Ambistro, MikeShotZ, Amouros and others) on April 19th 2019, 4 days after Arekkusu98 first joined EarthMC. The area around x 25000, z -6500 was flattened to build the first houses of the new town. Many of the original buildings still exist today. Construction of Owari Castle also began during the early days. The towns population rose quickly to 20 citizens and its size to about 70 Chunks in early May.
May 2019
The mayor and founder Arekkusu98 suddenly resigned on May 13th. The mayor rank was automatically given to _Y3LIR_. Owari was very inactive from that point on. RandomRakuu, Chl0e_k and Timer24 were one of the few players who kept playing.
Owari was griefed by an inactive citizen on June 15th. Areas at the spawn were destroyed and 130g were stolen from chests. The damages were repaired quickly.
Summer and Fall 2019
On June 23rd, Timer24 (a German player who joined EarthMC on May 7th) became the new mayor of the town after _Y3LIR_ was kicked due to inactivity. Owari joined the nation of Japan one day later and grew to 125 chunks in size. On October 22nd Owari joined the nation of Shimazu, after old Japan disbanded.
2020
At the end of 2019, Taima_ started playing again. New houses were built, Owari Castle was finished and new players invited. The town was connected to the former -1k nether highway and a beacon was added to the spawn.
On the February 1st 2020 Taima_ was falsely banned for „bot-using“ but was unbanned a few days later. Two weeks later Owari joined the nation Tokugawa which was later renamed to Japan. In March the town was 176 chunks in size. New houses, a Pagoda and an Onsen (Japanese Bathhouse) were built. After the resignation of the leader of Japan KawadaJP, a good friend of Taima_, the town became very inactive. At the end of 2020 the town saw little change and the number of residents dropped to only one.
