The Battle of Paris was a battle that opposed the crusaders from the Roman Catholic Church lead by BenedictXVII that went against the Kingdom of Francia and the Apostolic Church lead by Thanamos. The Battle lasted around 3 hours and resulted in a stunning Francian victory.
Context
On the 23rd of June, 2021, Pope Benedict excommunicated Roi Thanamos for treason, espionage and spirituals conflicts. After escalating tensions between Francia and the Church, Pope Benedict declared an excommunication war and Holy Crusade against Francia and Thanamos on the 4th of July, 2021.
After a failed attempt to reunify both sides and find compromise, the newly-founded Apostolic Church decided to launch a raid against Vatican on the 15 August 2021. Pope Benedict then decided to raise one of the biggest army of EMC to launch an attack against Francia on the 22nd of August, 2021.
The Battle preparations
The crusader army was one of the biggest armies ever raised on EMC (around thirty pro-France or Catholic players joined the army) while Francia's army was of just 5 people. Francia did call his allies and volunteers from Serbia, Victoria and Britain. Despite this, Francia army was around nine people at the beginning of the battle and was outnumbered. To counter this, Francia quickly manage to set up traps which will be important for the result of the battle
The Battle
The first hour
The crusaders decided to launch a direct attack against Francia. But a large amount of the crusaders fell into Francia traps. Around nine crusaders were killed during this first hour with full mending gear. The Pope Benedict was hiding in his claim commanding the crusade away from the battlefield while Roi Thanamos was fighting alongside with his army as a direct leader, inspiring his tired men. This action, coupled with the traps, lowered the morale of the crusaders.
The second hour: the arrival of Israel
The arrival of Israel made Francia's army fall back and lose some land. Some Francians died, also, which had an effect on their newly gained morale. After an issue of permission due to the traps, Israel managed to steal war treasure from one of them.
The end of the battle : The crusaders retreat!
After multiple crusaders -with little-to-no armor- being killed and Francian reinforcements from Poland and Illinois, the crusaders decided to retreat which lead to a defeat of the crusaders.
The consequences of the battle
The Battle of Paris is full of consequences in terms of geopolitics. It stopped the Roman-Catholic attacks against the Francian King and revealed the lack of discipline and common sense in their army. It has been quite recognized that Francia bears military supremacy on their border. Also. the Roman-Catholic church have lost the psychological impact of their numbers and support, and this may prove detrimental to them.
