Maluku, officially the People's Democratic Socialist Republic of Maluku, is a nation consisting of 3 smaller islands in the Indonesian archipelago. Its capital and only current town is Sula as of April 3rd 2024. Since its formation in 2023 it has been run by IceFrosti following the tragic dissolution of his former nation Tasmania. Seafoamorca is the de-facto co-owner of Maluku and also the co-founder. Sitting at only 153 chunks, Maluku is a relatively small nation and is fairly isolated from other nations in Indonesian waters. Its closest neighbor is the nation of Indonesia and other nearby nations include Papua, Pilipinas, East Timor, Lea Lea, and Indochina. The climate of Maluku is tropical. A coral reef surrounds the islands in the warm ocean. The land is filled with palm trees, beaches, small rivers and a big mountain in the west. The fauna is also pretty diverse. Common animals you can spot on Maluku include parrots, ocelots, tropical fish, dolphins and even the rare brown panda. Maluku is especially known today for its ambitious architecture such as the spawn temple and the luxury vacation bungalows.

Since its founding Maluku has had little conflict with other nations or individuals. Having declared themselves a socialist nation and allying with left-wing alliences such as United Front and The Comintern, they have met some opposition (though it is unclear to what extent the ideology is actually being implemented, if at all). Their outspoken support of progressive values has also caused some anger among the EarthMC community. So far the nation has stayed out of any wars and is considered a free and democratic state. The recent addition of overclaim has caused some turmoil for Maluku since its implementation on January 1st 2024, with IceFrosti declaring it a state emergency and activating the overclaim shield as a result.
