EarthMC Stats is an open-source Discord bot for EarthMC that allows you to see info about nations, towns, residents, alliances and much more (use /help) even when EarthMC is offline. The bot's most popular command is /townless, which gives a list of townless people which you can invite to your town. The bot also includes many useful features and utilities like /alliance /voteparty /ruined /falling and more. It also features an associated API that is open for anyone to use and is already used in projects like 3meraldK's earthmc-dynmap+ extension so that alliances and their colours can be shown on the map.
ℹ️All commands are completely free and there are no plans to charge real or in-game currency for special access to any commands.
⚠️Forks and distributions must stay source-available and adhere to the License and Terms of Service.
Usage
The stats bot is used by thousands of users, is in 1,745 servers as of 18 Aug 2025 and is largely used in bot command channels with the first known usage being in the Britain and Spain servers during Terra Nova.
EMCS has a unique ability to continue working when the server is offline as most of its source data is both cached and stored in a database. It relies on official EarthMC API primarily and also data from the EarthMC Map for redundancy when the server is down or when the official API is experiencing issues.
To use it, just run a command such as /res <name> /town query <name> /nation query <name> or /alliance query <name> and the bot will respond with the stats of that player/town/nation/alliance without needing to even log on to EarthMC. EarthMC Stats also has other usage like showing the activity of nations and towns in addition to misc commands like/news /route /usage and more.
Founding and History
It was originally created by Owen3H and Warriorrr (who were commonly associated with the in-game nation of Britain on Terra Nova) as an alternative and fork of the EarthMC Info bot ran by LuciferianThomas who seemingly quit around 2019~2020 after an incident where player Aceshooter implemented a backdoor into the original EMC Info bot, gathering messages from many private discords. The backdoor which was swiftly removed upon forking, and ever since then, EMCS has been committed to staying open-source and after many rewrites and refactors, you can be sure it is safe to use. You can even fork the repo , edit code and host it yourself if you are still unsure!
In 2025, EMCS suffered hosting limitations and maintenance troubles due to limited resources, making it unsustainable alongside the 5 years of technical debt. At which point, the decision was made to completely rewrite the bot from the ground up using the Golang programming language, which is a much faster compiled language and is easy to pick up just like JS or TS, making it suitable for what is now a self-hostable, configurable and performant Discord bot made specifically to help EarthMC players with many aspects of the server by providing useful information.
Today, Owen3H is still maintaining the main instance of the EMCS in 2026 alongside alliance editors and updates the bot and its API in his free time where possible.
Alliance Editors
There are a total of 9 editors currently, with four of them being "senior" editors, who have the ability to disband alliances and possibly more permissions in future.
Editor application forms are occasionally posted in the EarthMC Toolkit Discord, allowing players to apply to become an Editor, whos role is to keep alliances up-to-date according to news and making edits or new alliances at the request of the leaders and/or representative of the alliance.

Toolkit
EarthMC Stats is part of the EarthMC Toolkit and in addition to it, also provides EMC information in various formats, including a mod for direct in-game use or libraries to help other developers.
Conclusion
EMCS is essential to many player's experiences, helping them stay in touch and learn about the stats of EMC all in one easy to use and knowledgeable package. The fact that the stats bot is still running in 2026 and has been since 2019 really shows how important it really is and the impact the toolkit has had on the development and hobbyist side of EarthMC ever since the map JSON endpoints were originally discovered, which inspired many other projects.
