Beni Mellal was a town of Aragon that once existed in northwestern Africa.
History
UltraMakoto_ Era
In 2023, the town was founded by UltraMakoto_, who was then an official of Aragon. Although the details of that time are not well known, the spawn area was developed, storage facilities were organized, a Gundam statue was constructed, and the flag of Aragon was installed.
First Senninn Era
In January 2024, following an invitation from King UltraKose, Senninn assumed office as the second mayor. Senninn immediately began by improving the roads, establishing a shop, and creating a council chamber.
Additionally, an official Discord server was launched on New Year’s Day.
Active Policies
On January 2, a new mixed-use building was constructed. It was created to allow foreign companies to open stores, and by the time the town fell, two players had established shops there.
On January 3, the administrative district was further developed, dividing the town into northern and southern sections based on the spawn point.
On January 6, the town was opened to all players.
On January 16, a system was introduced to provide a flat payment of 10G to all new settlers. On the same day, a social credit system was implemented, establishing penalties for individuals who engaged in actions harmful to the town.
On January 19, the “Beni Mellal State-Owned Company” (later the Kasumi Group) was established. Stock certificates were also issued, securing abundant financial resources. A provisional council was also created. Members could join the council upon being summoned by the mayor and elected through a vote. Eligibility required citizenship in one of the Aragon Federation’s constituent states. From that point onward, major development projects would be decided by the council members.
On January 20, development of a trading card game began, with work proceeding on rules and card design. The following day, a thrilling tower attraction was constructed, where players would fall from a height of 384 blocks and land safely in water. Several people participated on opening day, and the event was lively.
On January 29, changes to the SHOP plugin dealt a major blow to local stores. Senninn temporarily switched to using a trading board for transactions. On the same day, it was decided that anyone who donated 32G or more to Beni Mellal would be granted honorary citizenship.
Development of Parliamentary Politics
On January 30, the first council meeting was held, with Senninn, Acted_, and _HAPPA in attendance. They discussed development goals for Beni Mellal and details regarding the state-owned company.
On January 31, sales of the Beni Yen (equivalent to 1/10 G) began at the spawn point. On the same day, a report was presented to the provisional council, where discussions were held regarding council members’ salaries, ultimately setting the monthly pay at 6G.
On February 2, the first shareholders’ meeting of the state-owned company was held. The participants were the major shareholder and company president Senninn, along with 3rdy. The dividend rate for shares was set at 5%. In addition, employees of the state-owned company were given a compensation system consisting of a daily wage of 2G plus commission.
On February 3, the social credit system was applied for the first time, and Dhogz was punished for committing PK acts against citizens.
On the same day, the long-anticipated trading card game, which had been under quiet development, was finally released for sale. Booster packs were sold on the second floor of the mixed-use building and sold out within a single day, marking great success.
On February 4, the council convened to discuss methods for increasing the number of employees in the state-owned company.
On February 5, the second shareholders’ meeting was held, where discussions focused on new player-support services and staffing of the state-owned enterprise. On February 6, the company name was changed to Kasumi Group. On February 7, it was announced that the first card game tournament would be held on February 10. However, due to insufficient player turnout on the day of the event, it was canceled.
On February 10, former mayor UltraMakoto_ stole the entire budget of 443G. Beni Mellal faced a devastating crisis, but thanks to numerous donations, the town succeeded in recovering by the following day. UltraMakoto_ was subjected to sanctions under the social credit system.
On February 12, a new building was constructed, and book sales began.
On February 14, the facility that had been used as the national treasury was converted into a memorial for the UltraMakoto_ incident.
On February 18, a subway usable for 1 Beni Yen was opened, featuring two stations: Shing Seng Station in the north (Japanese: 神仙駅) and Tieguai Station in the south (Japanese: 鉄拐駅). Starting February 19, development began around Tieguai Station.
On March 1, a system was introduced allowing Aragon citizens and honorary citizens to purchase one chunk of land for 1G.
Rapid Decline
In March, Senninn’s login frequency declined due to personal loss of interest. Although he occasionally appeared to propose reconstruction plans, almost no real activity took place, and citizens rapidly began to leave the town.
Xin_hachamecha Era And Second Senninn Era
Following Senninn’s decline, Xin_hachamecha, a friend of 3rdy, assumed the mayoral position. Details about Xin_hachamecha’s tenure are unclear, but Senninn made a brief return in October.
During the period when Senninn was inactive, the suspension of dividend payments became a point of contention, leading to disputes. This issue remains a controversial topic in Senninn’s career.
Shortly thereafter, at the end of 2024, Beni Mellal fell and was ultimately destroyed.
