The Republic of Massachusetts, is a Nation on Terra Nostra which was founded the 25th of April 2026, by Jacquemon. The idea of Massachusetts was first conceived on the 18th of January, 2026 which at that time was made up by a small group of people, however as the reset inched closer, the discord and community grew to 20 active members. On the 17th of April, 2026, The City of Boston was established by Khaledmkma and is well regarded as the first Massachusan foothold in New England. Following it's creating, Boston was soon joined by it's sister city of Salem later that day. The Nation of Massachusetts was soon created on the 25th of that month, with Salem as it's Capital, the City of Boston soon joined as the 2nd town aswell. on May 1st, 2026, The server finally released to the public, and saw a large influx of players arriving on the shores of New England, this was a great period of the Republic as it saw unprecedented growth, the Nation had gone from only three towns to eight on the first day, and it also grew from three to eighteen residents, this led to the Charter of Massachusetts being drafted, and ratified on May 4th, 2026 by the people of Massachusetts who soon after, elected their first Organizer; Jacquemon. Once he had formed government, he got straight to work organizing his cabinet, with Khaledmkma as Treasurer, Charliequasar_ as Secretary of Interior, and Swat907 as Secretary of Foreign Affairs. The Nation bank had grown exponentially under Khaled’s leadership it grew from 44 to 1719 gold in just a few weeks, and for a brief period was in the top 20 Nation banks. A month later, on Sunday the 6th of June, the Constitution was finally ratified by the people, it was written by Bear4919, Jacquemon, and Khaledmkma. The Constitution is known for needing to be amended rather early on with 2 amendments already passed, however no more has been passed as of writing. The Presidential & House Elections soon concluded, which saw Jacquemon as first President, and the first House of Representatives formed.

Pre History
Massachusetts, prior to its establishment on Terra Nostra was initially planned by a group of Emcers who originated from Laurentides, Yakutia and the Nation of Maine on Terra Aurora. They had grouped up together on the 18th of January and had only 5 Group Chat members, which quickly grew to 20 prior to Nostra launching with due to the help of the newly announced Massachusetts Build Server which launched on the 10th of February ET which was hosted on Aternos, although moved to a 24/7 server host on the 13th. This build server became the centre of the community until Nostra released on the 17th of April. The group who would soon go on to found Massachusetts, discovered that someone by the name of Irongamer54 planned on creating the Nation of Massachusetts aswell Jacquemon the de facto leader of the group, had invited Irongamer54 who declined the other and stick to the idea of creating a 1 person Nation and later refused to join Boston once the Bay Staters established it.

Early Settlement
Khaledmkma, a member of the Massachusetts Discord Community had managed to establish Boston which was the first city to ever get established in New England within an hour of Nostra releasing. Unlike his friends, he had managed to spawn in North America, specifically in the North Western Quebec Region, modern day Ungava. However his luck had not ran out because he also won 64 gold from a Vote Crate; which led to him rushing over to the planned City of Boston which was planned by a community member Bear4919, Jacquemon had coordinated Khaledmkma via the dynmap and soon Khaledmkma was able to establish Boston which was soon joined by its sister City Salem which was founded 30 minutes later and the future Capital City of Massachusetts. A little over a day later, Irongamer54 an individual who had planned on creating Massachusetts and the City of Boston, soon joined Salem and expressed interest in establishing a City named Foxboro due to the name Boston getting taken; this plan was soon abandoned after he lost all his gold by leaving it in the wilderness this led to him leaving Salem and joining Montreal.

Establishment
The Nation of Massachusetts was established by Jacquemon on the 25th of April with Salem as its Capital, which was soon joined by Boston and even Quebec City; Massachusetts soon got into contact with an official involved in the Nation of New York and the two Nation shad agreed that they wouldn't cross each others side of the Connecticut this was a handshake deal. On May the first, the server had opened to the Public for the very first time, and the Nation of Massachusetts grew rapidly thanks to the assembled discord community finally logging on which led to the Charter of Massachusetts being ratified which was there to ensure stability for the young Nation and to lay the ground & framework for the Constitution.

Although the flag adopted by the Nation of Massachusetts share little similarity with the Real Life one, it is seen by the general public as aesthetically appealing. The flag was put to a vote after Jacquemon discovered a imgur.com post proposing the U.S State redesigns its flag, here is a link to the post: https://imgur.com/gallery/proposed-massachusetts-flag-redesign-Hct9S89
