Norway, officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a Nordic nation in EarthMC located primarily within the geographical territory of modern-day Norway in Northern Europe. The nation was founded by Normannaheim on 26 April 2026, with Bergen serving as its capital. Norway was the last of the major Nordic nations to be established during the early period of Nostra and subsequently expanded through the creation and recruitment of towns across the country.

History

Early History and Founding of Bergen

It all began when Normannaheim first joined EarthMC Nostra Early Access on 17 April 2026. Normannaheim spawned in Vietnam, while his friend Harsto spawned in Australia. Normannaheim and Harsto met each other and made their way to Norway, with the goal of establishing Bergen.

Normannaheim and Harsto eventually gathered enough gold and founded Bergen on the west coast of Norway later that same day. After Bergen was established, Harsto joined and became the town's first resident. Although he did not play very often, he was present during Bergen's early development.

On 19 April 2026, the nation of Denmark was created. Bergen subsequently joined Denmark and remained part of the nation for a period of time.

Founding of Norway

Norway was the last of the Nordic nations to be created. At the time, there were relatively few players in Norway, while neighboring Nordic nations such as Sweden, Finland and Iceland had already begun to appear.

After seeing these nations being established while no one appeared to be creating Norway, Normannaheim came to believe that a Norwegian nation was unlikely to be founded anytime soon. He therefore decided to take the initiative and create Norway himself.

While Bergen was still part of Denmark, Normannaheim began mining and saving the gold required to create a nation. He received no outside financial assistance and personally mined all of the gold needed.

Once enough gold had been collected, Normannaheim announced in Denmark's nation chat that he intended to leave Denmark and create Norway, informing the Danish community of his plans beforehand.

On 26 April 2026, Bergen left Denmark and the nation of Norway was officially founded, with Bergen becoming its capital. From there, Normannaheim began working to expand the newly created nation.

Early Expansion and New Towns

During its early period, Norway remained largely neutral and avoided becoming involved in international conflicts. As a newly created nation, its main focus was on internal development. Norway generally sought to maintain peaceful relations with its neighbors and avoided taking sides in conflicts that did not directly concern the nation.

Norway initially had relatively few players and towns, leaving much of the country undeveloped. Normannaheim began looking for players interested in creating towns in different parts of Norway, with the goal of gradually expanding the nation beyond Bergen and creating a larger community of towns.

Over time, several new towns were established in different parts of the country. Among the towns created during this period were Skien, Valhalla, Oslo and Sandefjord. One important development during this period was the creation of Sandefjord, led by its mayor Anders565, who would later become an important figure within Norway. These new towns helped expand Norway's presence across the country and formed the early foundations of the growing nation.

At the same time, Norway's political structure was beginning to develop. Normannaheim remained the primary leader of the nation, while SuperJosh0 was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs by Normannaheim. Although his position initially focused on Norway's foreign relations, SuperJosh0 gradually became involved in broader government affairs and internal political matters as well. He would later become one of the more influential members of Norway's developing government.

Straumen's Early History

On 14 June 2026, the town of Straumen was founded by Normannaheim for its mayor, TheHenstigator.

Norway supported the development of the town, with Normannaheim providing gold to help Straumen expand and assisting with plans for its development. When TheHenstigator asked for ideas on how the town could be built, Normannaheim created a map with suggestions for its future development.

Straumen initially became an important part of the growing Norwegian community. TheHenstigator also proposed the creation of a Parliament, an idea that Normannaheim later implemented as part of the development of Norway's government.

Deterioration of Relations with Straumen

Relations between Straumen and the rest of Norway gradually deteriorated following a series of disputes involving the town's leadership and other towns within Norway.

One of the major incidents involved Makfrost, a town south of Bergen. Members of Norway asked Straumen not to attack Makfrost while Norway was attempting to maintain peaceful relations with the town. Despite this, members of Straumen attacked Makfrost, creating additional diplomatic problems for Norway.

Further disagreements followed, including conflicts with players inside Norway. Norway initially attempted to resolve these problems through diplomacy rather than immediately removing Straumen from the nation. Several warnings were given and attempts were made to improve the situation, but relations continued to deteriorate. After attempts to resolve the situation proved unsuccessful, Straumen was eventually removed from Norway.

Following its removal, TheHenstigator approached Normannaheim about the possibility of selling Straumen and asked him to make an offer. Normannaheim initially offered 2,200 gold for the town.

Anders565 and Only_youtube, however, believed Norway was in a strong negotiating position and argued that they should wait rather than immediately proceed with the purchase, believing Straumen had relatively few alternative buyers. Normannaheim, Anders565 and Only_youtube therefore agreed to remain quiet and not reveal their negotiating strategy to TheHenstigator in hopes that the price would decrease.

After a period with little communication, Normannaheim said that he considered 1,600 gold a reasonable price. Although Anders565 believed the price could potentially fall further, he told Normannaheim that "it is up to you," which Normannaheim reasonably understood as Anders565 leaving the final decision to him.

Normannaheim subsequently resumed negotiations with TheHenstigator, and the two agreed on a price of 1,600 gold. During the discussions, however, Anders565 and Only_youtube joined the negotiations and attempted to convince TheHenstigator to lower the price further.

This created disagreement over whether the 1,600 gold agreement should be accepted or whether negotiations should continue. Anders565 and Only_youtube believed continued patience could potentially reduce the price further, possibly to around 1,100 gold. Normannaheim, however, felt that the negotiations had already continued for long enough and wanted the Straumen situation to finally be resolved.

Although Anders565 had previously told Normannaheim that "it is up to you", Anders565 and Only_youtube were ultimately unhappy with the decision to proceed at 1,600 gold. This difference in approach contributed to further disagreements within the group.

Superjosh0 and Anders565

Superjosh0 had placed a mapart order with Anders565, whilst speaking to him for 5 hours, a day later TheHenstigator also joined and this was to be believed as the first time Anders565 spoke up about how he was unhappy with the price of the deal!

The Next day during the negotiations Superjosh0 became involved in the dispute and voiced out his views and disagreed and said to Anders565, Only_Youtube and Normannaheim "Honestly, this has been handled so poorly, lack of communication, and secret talks behind the scenes with no communication is completely bad, Honestly, to be effective, you have to speak up, and not just sit and wait!"

As the exchange went on Superjosh0 said to them that this was "unacceptable." and unfortunately Anders565 said "Are you actually retarded?" Whilst also involving our mapart agreement By saying "River Song, it's from this point on also unacceptable that you get map arts at a discounted price. ANd unacceptable that you get blocks on ur mapart for the price of carpets" Then Superjosh0 said "This is a seperate arrangement anders, don't let this spill into our business"

As Superjosh0 voiced his views further he stated "But this is what frustrates me with nordic people, WHY did you not communicate this with me, why bring it up in this moment now! they let things simmer, say nothing, then all of sudden a cut of death" This was to express that Anders565 had a grievance with TheHenstigator, and tried to wait until the price dropped, without even communicating with TheHenstigator. As Superjosh0 Faith values are treat those with fairness even if they did not do the same back, and Forgive others also, this is what he labelled as unacceptable. Then his own mapart order got swirled into the mix showing an emotional response and poor business practice of letting emotions spoil agreements, Anders565 later returned the gold given as payment. Superjosh0 called out the greivance, and then this is what started the spiral of Only_youtube and Anders565 leaving the council, and them leaving to create their own nation.

Creation of Nordic

Before Nordic was created, Normannaheim and Only_youtube held several discussions regarding the purpose of the proposed nation. These discussions resulted in an agreement between Normannaheim and Only_youtube that Nordic would primarily serve as a nation spawn for their mapart business, rather than as a fully independent nation intended to expand.

Based on this agreement, Normannaheim accepted the creation of Nordic. At the time, there was little concern about the new nation because its purpose had been discussed beforehand and an agreement had been reached.

After Nordic was established, however, the two sides came to disagree over the scope of this agreement. Nordic maintained that although the nation had originally been created as a commercial spawn, there had been no agreement permanently preventing it from expanding, accepting additional towns, or developing into a conventional nation. Normannaheim maintained that Nordic's subsequent development contradicted the purpose that he and Only_youtube had agreed upon before its creation.

Nordic later stated that the political circumstances surrounding the project had changed substantially during the Straumen crisis, and that these changes contributed to the original commercial concept developing into an independent nation. From Norway's perspective, however, the events surrounding Straumen did not change the agreement that had been reached between Normannaheim and Only_youtube before Nordic's creation.

Nordic subsequently began expanding its territory and accepting additional towns. From Norway's perspective, Nordic's transformation from a commercial nation spawn into an expanding independent nation represented a departure from the original agreement under which Normannaheim had accepted its creation. This disagreement over Nordic's intended purpose became one of the major sources of tension between Norway and the newly established nation.

After towns started to join Nordic, after they went around trying to convince the towns to Join, Superjosh0, went around to the towns, and told the people to look for the truth of why the split happened, and not trust in blind loyalty or familiarity for example he stated "Truth comes above loyalty, just because you knew them from a while ago, or before the reset does not mean you just join them, you have to question others, but sadly people are too afraid of others to stand up and be bold, people are afraid to disappoint"

Anders565 was not too happy with this, and even put a bounty on Superjosh0, and then later claimed it got removed, guild members of the PVP guild stated it was still there. Anders565 has expressed how he hates Superjosh0, and that he said there was no bounty on him!

Geography

Norway is located in Northern Europe and occupies much of the western and northern portions of the Scandinavian Peninsula. The nation's territory is long and narrow, extending from southern Norway along the western coastline and northward toward the Arctic regions. Its geography is characterized by a highly irregular coastline, numerous fjords, mountainous terrain and many offshore islands, reflecting the geography of real-world Norway. Norway's real coastline and fjord systems are major defining geographic features.

Government

Norway is governed as a monarchy with a parliamentary system. Normannaheim, the founder of the nation, serves as King of Norway and has remained the country's primary national leader since its establishment on 26 April 2026.

During Norway's early history, most national decisions were handled directly by Normannaheim. As the nation expanded and gained additional towns and mayors, a more organized government gradually developed. The idea of establishing a Norwegian Parliament was originally proposed by TheHenstigator, mayor of Straumen, and was later implemented by Normannaheim.

The Parliament provides a forum for representatives of Norwegian towns to discuss national issues, submit proposals and vote on national decisions. Mayors and other eligible representatives participate in the political process, while the government is responsible for managing different areas of the nation.

SuperJosh0 was initially appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs by Normannaheim and gradually became involved in broader government affairs. He later proposed the creation of the position of Prime Minister and his appointment was put to a vote in Parliament. Following the vote, SuperJosh0 became Prime Minister of Norway while also continuing to serve as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
