Vinland is a nation located in the Northeast Canada. The capital of Vinland is Ungava. Vinland is the continuing of pre-reset town Ungava/nation of Vinland. Vinland is a democratic townpublic founded: May 8th 2026 by Poopypoop112.

Vinland is located in the Canadian provinces of Quebec, Nunavut and Newfoundland. The nation is spread out throughout these provinces as the governmental system of Vinland allows it. Although spread out Vinland is firmly united under Poopypoop112 and his advisors.

The nation of Vinland operates as a townpublic which means that all towns hold absolute autonomy regarding their ambitions with the nation (Vinland) serving as an image of the towns collective interests.

Vinland ultimately became a nation that holds many fascinating communities which intertwine and help each other out in their common goals.

History

Pre-reset

The story of Vinland starts on the 24th of February 2025 when Poopypoop112 founded the town of Ungava. In the first days he mined and saved up gold to expand as much as possible, for the same reason he joined the nation of Nunavik (Manicougan) to be able to claim even more land. First resident to join the town was Funnieracorn67 with cooley22 joining soon after. Before being able to recruit more people Poopypoop112, Funnieracorn67 and cooley22 had to terraform the area and grind to get rich, in which they succeeded. This marks the end of the first phase.

Second phase began with rapid recruitment of people and claiming land to the west, where housing for the new citizens was built. But there was a problem with the current state of the town as no one but the three original players were active, which meant that Ungava was in a crisis. But thanfully two people joined that being Jib_07 and Fastcookie and they helped in recruiting active players and expanding the town. At this time the first Vinlandian military was formed by Fastcookie. He built a military base in the north of Ungava which served as the base of operations for the military. Around this time as well Poopypoop112 also implemented the town of towns idea which means he gave out sections of the town to residents to control and run as their own "towns". A certain resident named holaamigoos created the froglight city, a different resident called cow_theBObotrem joined and created the cow hotel. Then with the help of many but especially Fastcookie, cooley22, and holaamigoos Ungava grew. This marks the end of the second phase.

Thirds phase starts with Nunavik changing its name to Manicougan, this is also around the town Manicougan/Nunavik started to lose player count. Seeing this Masterewild(then owner of Manicougan) decided to merge with Cascadia. Instead of merging with Cascadia and following Manicougans lead Ungava decided to merge with Laurentides. Ungava decided to merge with Laurentides because Laurentides and Ungava being afraid of Canada and Cascadia taking over the entire region. At this time a crucial player will join Ungava, Bear4919. Bear4919 proved to be the most influential anf helpful player since fastcookie. But all was not sunshine and rainbows as fastcookie slowed down on playing EMC cause of school. Bear4919 soon rose through the ranks becoming a recruiter and soon a co-mayor. Bear4919 built houses for new rsidents and expanded the town. Ungava experienced its golden age which without Bear4919 would not be. Ungava reached its peak at 60 residents. Pionoob and many others would join Ungava in its golden age and helped. With this golden age Ungava expanded its borders and built a new massive part of the town called the Old town. At this time Laurentides went to war with Canada over a conflict between the presidents. The golden age of Ungava being so long was possible thanks to the player Cwekly who would donate more than a 1000 gold and lots of netherite armor and tools which would go to use in the war between Laurentides and Canada. Ungava also experiened succes in the war as they overclaimed Canadian towns, Ungava mamaged to hold its positions until Laurentides was forced to disband. After Laurentides disbanded Ungava merged with Cascadia. During this time a lot if prominent figures would rise and become co-mayors such as: YandereVeldora, CheesyBacon5, ziiviioo, dr_sep, camqu9 and Natemoot.

Current Patch

Early history of Vinland started with Poopypoop112, dr_sep and quasarite bought premium to get early access to the server. Poopypoop112 made the long walk across America to the current place where Ungava currently stands, and founded the town on 20th of April 2026. Ungava started as a Viking themed town. Around this time towns like Stoneport, Quebec and Severight were being founded and developed, these towns would later join the nation of Vinland. Poopypoop112, dr_sep and quasarite spent countless hours mining, and they were able to create the nation of Vinland. Soon after, RoastedPeanut10, Mr_Vgy, ThatGuyYouKnow01, and DougDommadome (leaders of Severight) joined our nation, which was then followed by Xinima and Dr3gg (leaders of Stoneport) and Okiwix (leader of Whuefjell).

The expansion phase started with many towns joining the nation in rapid succession. Towns that joined are New Birmingham, Quebec, Sanikiluaq(Canada), Radisson (Canada), Novvy_Kyiv, Stonybreck, and Arctic_Bay joined the nation. Vinland will hold its first elections at this time. Vinland was founded as a townupublic, and citizens agreed that this structure fits the goals of each nation member, being that towns can maintain absolute autonomy in their own decisions. Sanikiluaq would be kicked out of the nation due to problems they were causing in the nation, and later Radisson would join Quebec (now Canada) because he liked the nation name better. Later on, Tasiujaq, Machisatat, UQAC, A-U-T-I-S-M, and OCR would join the nation. Around this time Vinland joins the Canadian meganation. Then new notable co-mayors joined: FinfinJAC1, Jackal7510, and Tufftimmy812.

Currently Vinland is still expanding but it faces a crisis of towns being inactive for example Stoneport and Severight. Stoneport changed its mayor to killincreeper2. Killincreeper2 made drastic changes in Stoneport and kicked around 30 people who were inactive leaving only players who were active. But there are a lot of new towns such as: Donaldson, Crapensburg, Mandalore, Ostungava, Fortua, Nordungava, Seafoam, Salluit, Boreal, Ile-Charles, Hive_Tertium, Riven_Tides and Iqaluit.

The Iberian War

The Iberian war starts with Poopypoop112 being killed while invis at y -12 north of the town OCR. Poopypoop112 accused the killer of hacking or using a client that tracked entities due to the low chances of them running into each other. The leaders of Iberia rubbed it into Poopypoop112s face, and threatened our nation. Poopypoop112 then outlawed them and ensured that they could never teleport to Vinland by declaring war. After that Iberia declares war on Vinland and soon after Canada, Zion and Quebec stepped in to help us in the war. A lot of nations would condemn Iberia. Some notable events of the war: New Birminghams Hell Divers successful campaigns, and the bounty Mrwooffers put on Iberians. Canada Canada then paved a road to peace, and paid Poopypoop112 back for the losses, so Vinland agreed to make peace with Iberia. But this choice was not popular amongst the citizens so to fix this Vinland implemented a law that makes it so that every national matter has to be voted on in the council before its implementation.

Diplomacy

On the 4th of June, 2026 Vinland joined the United Nations as the 16th member.

On the 26th of June, 2026 Vinland signed a Mutual-defense pact with James Bay.

On the 7th of July, 2026 Vinland signs an alliance with Quebec.

On the 30th of July, 2026 Vinland signs the treaty of Ungava with Acadia.

On the 2nd of August, 2026 Vinland joines the Canadian mega nation.

On the 26th of August, 2026 Vinland signs an alliance with America.

On the 27th of August, 2026 Iberia and Chechnya declares war on Vinland after a hacker from Iberia murdered Poopypoop112.

On the 30th of August, 2026 Vinland officially recognizes the declaration of war by Iberia and Chechnya and declares war back on Iberia and Chechnya.

On the 31st of August, 2026 Vinland signs an alliance with Georgia

On the 1st of September, 2026 Vinland forms the International Space organization (ISO) alongside Quebec, Canada, Russian Republic and Micronesia.

On the 6th or September, 2026 Vinland makes peace with Iberia after being advised by their allies to do so.

On the 7th of September, 2026 Vinland signs a Non-aggression pact with Norway.

On the 9th of September, 2026 Vinland signs a Non-aggression pact with Greenland.

On the 10th or September, 2026 Vinland signs an alliance with Sweden.

Government

The nation of Vinland operates as a townpublic with Poopypop112 being it's leader. But being a townpublic each town has absolute autonomy in it's ambitions. Under this system, towns retain complete autonomy. The national government cannot force changes on towns, as each town is intended to represent the nation through its own unique governance. Whether a town chooses strict authority, maximum freedom, or anything in between is entirely its own decision.

The Townupublic operates on two levels: the town and the nation.

Town Level:

Each town governs itself independently and determines its own laws, policies, and structure without interference from the nation.

National Level:

Each town may appoint up to two representatives, known as High Command, to represent its interests nationally. Together with the town's mayor, they form the Vinland Council, a governing body similar to the UN.

The Vinland Council handles national matters such as the nation's name, governmental structure, commerce, diplomacy, and war. Each town receives one vote within the Council, exercised collectively by its mayor and representatives. National decisions are made through majority vote.

The Nation Leader serves solely as a executor of the Council's decisions. The position holds no voting power within the Vinland Council and exists only to implement the policies and changes approved by the Council.
