On the 9th of February, 2020 communications between town leaders were leaked by KingBerman after the controversy of LawofRence's Presidency, and the towns involved seceded from Cascadia to form a new nation, The Salish Federation. They were quickly denounced as traitors. The Salish Federation has claimed it was created in response to foreign interference in the Cascadian democratic system by former and foreign members. In secret, they planned to make their own nation while manipulating Cascadian law and government officials to gain power over the region. The Salish Federation seceded alongside six other towns and two cantons as an ongoing conflict to current time. In response to the recent turn of events, Cascadia hosted a trial to clear misinformation to be held on the 14th of February 2020, Valentine's Day that year, but it was canceled due to the traitors being kicked from the Cascadia discord and a majority of them refusing to be present.

Soon after Salish left, BonZzil started attacking Salish citizens, sometimes accompanied by others, most often alone. This led to xOreoToast to launch a mining operation where he planted explosives on Washington roads.

Cascadia has opted out of this conflict as both nations have wanted to rejoin Cascadia and war is not desired. The government has decided to let the two countries sort it out unless Cascadia is harmed or affected negatively.

On the 19th of February, 2020 Cascadian recon noticed strange movement by the nation of Haida's leader xOreoToast. Presidential Candidate Unbent/Handsome_Jack was fixing griefed areas around the Washington, Salish and Cascadian borders when he was notified by Washington Leader BonZZil that landmines had been placed around the area. A majority of the mines were centered by the Columbia river road to Cascadia, and several more around other major transportation routes around Washington.

After being asked if he had approved the mining of Cascadian roads, Salish president Vorobyevite denied such actions. When a screenshot containing Vorobyevite allowing xOreoToast to place mines on the roads was leaked, Salish said that it was fair game if the roads were not in the Cascadian border and this was in fact true, as no mine was placed in Cascadian claims.

This event still angered many Cascadians though, after hearing Salish wished to take a more diplomatic approach to the civil crisis. The Cascadian government had also received mixed information from the Salish government about the mines. This event could also have a serious effect on the upcoming Cascadian elections. Presidential Candidate Unbent/Handsome_Jack has stated that he will no longer pledge to engage in talks with the Salish government to get them to rejoin Cascadia until they give a clear answer into why the government is sponsoring terrorist attacks.
