The IATA or the International Air Transport Association was an organization of international airlines.
History
The IATA was founded on June 29, 2021. It's founding members were African Airways, American Airlines, and Finnair. It was founded on the basis to provide airline services and rival the ICAO, run by indian7p.
By August 2021, the IATA had grown to 8 members, adding new ones like Air France and British Airways.
On January 10, 2022, at 6:22 PM GMT -7, it was announced that the IATA was shutting down. Just a few minutes prior, Finnair announced that it would also be ceasing operations. The IATA discord was deleted the following day.
