|The region of Scania, in southern Sweden, had long been a region of multiple claims. Recently, the nations of Scania, and Gotaland were established. This region was in Danish claims, and so Denmark attempted to get Scania to become a vassal or merge. They did the same with Gotaland, however both declined and the region remains disputed.
