In late October, while scouting areas to place Port Hope, Johnnydeputy was messaged by Brazil and told that "if you make a town here and do not join Brazil, we will attack you." With this threat, the town of Port Hope became an active part of Brazil, contributing to:

* The economy (donating countless supplies, mats, and mobs to Brazilian players).

* The nation (funding two Brazilian towns, loaning gold to Brazilian players).

* The infrastructure (building the National Brazilian Iceway System still in use today).

However, after almost a month of working side-by-side with Brazil, johnnydeputy left the nation in protest when a long-standing request to add a nation-members door to the /n spawn was unfulfilled for weeks on end.

Within minutes, the king of Brazil logged in and proceeded to threaten and attempt to coerce Port Hope (along with Brazil allies of Port Hope) in order to force the town back into the nation. The king then seized the Port Hope embassy in Mehinaku and declared Port Hope a rebel town, even going so far as to copy-paste the "rebel town" message into global chat for all to see.

Port Hope was given one option. Join or die.
