Mosty is a town known as Šance or Mosty u Jablunkova (Mosty koło Jabłunkova), located in Europe. Mosty belongs to the Austrian nationality.
The territory of Mosty is divided into four parts: Třinec, Jablunkov, Mosty u Jablunkova and Šance. The main and largest parts are Šance.
The flag of the town is based on the Czech flag, but the symbol of the green star was added in honour of the original old town with the fortress of Šance.
History
The Czech settlers
The first reports of settlement date back to the time when east Czech settlers tried again to create a functional nation.
Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful because they were under the rule of other nations.
Only a handful of devoted Czechs remained and they built a star-shaped fortress called Šance, which was to serve as the capital of the Czech nation.
However, due to a dispute among the Czechs, a civil war broke out and the fortress fell.
Founding of the town Mosty
After some time, a few Czechs gathered together again and built the town of Mosty on the ruins of the former fortress of Šance, but now under the protection of the Austria nation, so Mosty is officially a Austrian-Czech town.
- In honour of the fortification of Šance, the town is built in the shape of a 4 pointed star (the fortification of Šance was in the shape of an 8 pointed star).
