Melbourne was first founded by '''Gaggy_''' on May 1st, 2022, two days before the founding of Australia. Melbourne is the second largest town regarding chunks in the nation of Pilbara as well as the second largest town in regards to population, coming behind [[Aurora:Onslow Bay | Onslow Bay]], the nation's capital in both.
= History =
The history of Melbourne goes a little deep, with constant mayor changes. However, 2 of the most notable were 323two and supimobama. 323two helped to develop Melbourne more, and built most of the infrastructure seen in the town to this day. However, around presumably late February to early March of 2024, 323two moved from Melbourne. In May 2024, Pilbara obtained the town, and gave it to mayor of the town that would later become Wadland, supimobama. Throughout his mayorship, supimobama would continue to develop and grow the town a bit more until around July, in which Onfast_Bay mayor as well as leader of Auralia Adelin_10 would not only seceed from Pilbara but also destroy supimobama's items. This outraged supimobama, in which he made demands towards not just Adelin but also Pilbara to not only give him gold as a financial compensation but also destroy a tower. These demands were never met, resulting in supimobama joining Australia. supimobama eventually resulted on selling Melbourne back to the Pilbarans, where it was bought for about 1000 gold, resulting in supimobama moving elsewhere and giving town mayorship to Toastedbread812.
== Selling ==
In late October 2024, the current mayor of Melbourne, Toastedbread812, moved to the Pilbaran town of Albury. From here, RadicalBroskii, the imperator of Gippsland, was supplied by Owry to continue holding onto the town. Afterwards, Melbourne was put for sale by Owry, and was eventually bought by SquishyTheFrog, a resident of [[Aurora:New Caledonia | New Caledonia]] and former mayor of the eastern Pilbara settlement of New Squishivia, for 1500 gold.

SquishyTheFrog hopes to develop Melbourne more and grow it to it's full potential, allowing for it to thrive and for it to reach new heights never seen before in its two year history.
= Australian Interest =
Due to the town's geographical and name advantage, Australia has repeatedly throughout the past and present expressed their want for Melbourne to join them. There have been many cases of this occurring, however one instance can be found through Gaggy_, a high-rank Australian, occasionally asking for Melbourne to be sold to the nation for 2000 gold.

*Melbourne was the only Pilbaran settlement that bordered the Victorian breakaway nation of Down Under, until around mid-to-late February, where Duchy Bar Verdun deleted the majority of their chunks due to a Victorian overclaim and deleted the town of Saint Etienne.
*Melbourne is also the only Pilbaran settlement that shares a border with Imperatoris, the occasional capital of Victoria. Both towns are connected by a road leading directly into Melbourne.
*Melbourne is home to the Melbourne Ampitheatre, the largest and only ampitheatre in Pilbara. Here, events in Melbourne (such as speeches, drop parties, etc) are planned to occur.
