Astoria is a town in the Republic of Cascadia. Located just south of the capital city, Olympia, Astoria is one of the largest towns in the nation. “This town is very historical, with the area first being settled by Milgorn123 with the town of Oceanside in the nation of Oregon, starting out as a rustic but bustling settlement. Oceanside then seceded to Cascadia, where the mayorship switched from Milgorn123 to RealLimpopo to Moxicodone. Under Moxie's mayorship, the town underwent major urban renovations in the north, where eventually the town was deleted due to a personal grudge with Milgorn 123, and the Battle of Oceanside between Cascadia and the Rocky Mountain Federation (RMF) occurred. Oceanside was quickly reestablished in the southern half of what it controls now under the mayorship of Paradox1080, with the town of Seaside in a northeastern pocket between Olympia and Portland, and an RMF town in the northern half. Eventually, the RMF town was bought out by scajamarsh and was renamed to Copper, which eventually took over the claims of Oceanside in the south, partially recreating the original borders of Oceanside (however, scajamarsh famously rolled back the entirety of Oceanside, wiping the original city forever and leaving it as an empty forest). Seaside was sniped by the RMF and renamed to Wagner. In June 2024, Setrus took over Copper and renamed it back to Oceanside and eventually Astoria, promising a new life and image for the region.” (-Setrus, Astoria Town Showcase, Republic of Cascadia Discord) Setrus served as mayor of Astoria until July 29th, 2025, when he retired from his position and handed the town over to Flippizzacake, an Astoria native citizen and representative in the Metropolitan division of the Cascadian House of Representatives. In August of 2025, Representative and Astorian citizen, RIP1C, refurbished and recreated the idea of the Astoria Council, originally pitched by Setrus on Apr 30, 2025. Today, the council consists of eight positions: Mayor- Flippizzacake, Deputy Mayor- RIP1C, Urban Planner- Lucky_Lex735, Head Architect- [vacant], Real Estate General- [vacant], City Advisor #1- Cargoxyz, City Advisor #2- Ruthl3ssZ, and Janitor- Kidj1337 To this day, Astoria is an active and bustling city, with a division of Paleo's Lava Chicken, and two Cozy Paws Pet Rescue branches (OGB and DTB)
