KalKash is an independent town in the center of the geographic region generally called Canada. It is small in size and population, and is set in a highly rural and swampy area with few resources. The history of the town and surrounding area is not clearly well defined nor well-documented, with even its name's origins not being well understood. One certain thing, though, is that it was once part of the nation of Cascadia. Aside from this showing in the survival of Cascadian culture in the town, this bit of its history has been passed along orally.
