Matrand

Matrand is a small, but elegant town, located in Western Sweden. This town claims not to specialize in anything yet, however, there are plenty of things that make it unique. It is the only town with a proper train station. It is also the only town to have a church. It was founded by _CrA6914, with help from NordicFenris, on July 13, 2019.

History

Being such a young town, it does not have much of a history at the time. What is known is that an agreement was made between _CrA6914 and NordicFenris: in return for financial aid to make the town, Matrand joined the nation of the Kalmar Union. Since being created, the town has had a connection to the Trans-Scandinavian Railway built to it and that it has directly led to another town being invited to the nation. Recently, when a player named Nindu arrived in the town, he was mistaken as a raider but was actually a trader. This marks the first time that the army has officially been called out to assist a town in the nation. This encounter led to King NordicFenris reaching out to the town of Hardanger.

Architecture

The Grand Church

Matrand is the only town to have a church. This all the more unique when you realize that Christians are an incredibly small demographic within the country.

The Tower of Light

This is the tallest building in Matrand at 24 blocks high. This was built in the town center in order to put Matrand on the map, and it shows. This building was ornately designed by _CrA6914.

Transportation

Matrand Tram

Still under construction, this system proposes to connect the railway station to other landmarks such as the Town centre and the bank. This line will loop around the town and hopefully benefit the economic growth as well.

Matrand Railway Station

Matrand railway station is located west of the town. It connects up with the Trans-Scandinavian Railway and connects to four other towns. Currently, a freight railway yard is being proposed and planned and will connect to these four towns and possible international towns as well.

Matrand - Gothenburg - Oslo - Hardanger Highway

This highway connects Matrand with major national and international cities with Gothenburg not being claimed by a nation and Olso being British. The entrance to the highway is located at the east of the town and will hopefully connect to more cities/towns in the future.
